Ai gives the bowl a look better suited for a buckey of swill. "I... I don't think so.... it tastes great... don't get me wrong... but right now, it's a bit too spicy for me. Besides, I wasn't kidding about Kero's morning hunt... he really did go more than a tad bit overboard trying to impress me."
With a sigh, she curls up by the fire and soaks in the heat. "But if you don't mind, I might just take a nap. Didn't get much sleep last night."

Tes looks over at Ai with a dirty little glare, one that seems to say she already knows why Ai got almost no sleep, but she's going to ask anyways, just to see the lioness turn red with embarrassment.
"Oh? You didn't get much sleep last night? Why would that be...here, don't move, I'll get your bowl. You just sit there and tell me all about it."
And so Tes does just that, removing the bowl and dumping it back into the boiling pot. As Kero had once told her "Yes, I put soup back in the pot...the heat you and I work with can kill and self-respecting germ...and a few of the emo, self-hating ones too." Of course she had clobbered him with a sleeping bag for that pun, but it made sense.
"Now, spill the beans...why were you up so late?"

Ai blushes just as she suspected she might, but it was kind of amusing to notice that when she did she also glowed and that the blush seemed to travel through the fur like ripples of soft rose colored light.
"Um... we were busy..." replies Ai lamely, not wishing to make Tes feel bad. Her eyes are closed so she doesn't see the smirk on Tes face as she digs a bit more.
"Oh? Busy doing what?"
"Teeessssss...." moans the lioness softly, only to find herself tackled in a gentle hug.
"It's ok.... I think." says Tes softly in her ear. "But watch it.... once I get my hands on him, he's mine.... you hear."

Ai nods, sadly, then grins, for she remembers something Kero has been attempting lately.
"Well, when you do get him, you might want to coach him on his aiming skills a little..." Ai says, mysteriously.

Ai chuckles wisely. "Let's just say he's getting a bit off centered, and leave it at that. But ye might want to remind him that his partners don't come with targets painted you know where and that he needs to be a bit more careful."

Tes shakes her head in amazement, wondering just what Ai was talking about. The one time she and Kero had mated in his current incarnation, she had had to coach him every time but the last, when he seemed to know exactly what to do...likely because the previous incarnations saw that he was active there, and were willing to impart a bit of knowledge, so he didn't fumble like most youngsters do.
"Ai...what exactly are you talking about?" She asks, her confusion readily apparent in the timbre of her voice, "Targets painted on my private area? Why on earth would I want that?"

Ai merely chuckles softly and goes to sleep, or at least appears to be asleep, leaving Tes to sit and ponder her words by the fire.

Tes does indeed ponder her words, and when it finally dawns on her, she blushes so red her blue skin turns purple with embarrassment.
"Oh..Oh my...Kero, you naughty little lion, I cannot believe you actually did that. you always threatened me with it, but now...oh jeez."
Shaking her head, she curls up, using Gwee as a fluffy scaly pillow, much to the protests of the little dragon, but finally everyone settles down for a good night's sleep. The next morning, however, Ai awakens near Tes to find a big red target painted on her private area.

Actually, Ai is completely unaware of the target painted on her until Tes points it out. Neither of them can figure out where it came form, but Ai knowing that the dream lands has the ability to make one's dreams come true, if only in one's mind, isn't too worried.
"I saw a stream a short ways back. I'll go and try to wash it off while you make yourself some breakfast." she says with a twisted grin. Then shaking her head she begins to make her way to the stream, thinking about how strange this realm was.

Oddly enough, the target doesn't seem to want to wash off, as if the paint is trying to adhere to her fur and flesh. Bemused by this, she has no choice but to go back, and face Tes's inevitable giggles.
And giggle she does, like a little schoolgirl, until Ai points out it likely won't wash off of her either. Smiling as she runs off and comes back, red as a beet, Ai lays down to wait for breakfast...though with twilight still in the air, it is impossible to tell how much time has really passed.
Finally, Tes comes back, and dishes out the eggs she had been cooking. "Here...breakfast is served."

Ai sm iles sweetly as she accepts her food. "I was right wasn't I?" she chuckles as she begins to nibble at her breakfast. Soon though she gets up and trots to the woods with a troubled expression on her face. When she comes back she gently pushes the dish toward Gwee. "Here ye eat it.... I think it might be best iffin I don't put anything down there right now...."

Gwee, the greedy little monster he is, flies down and immediately begins to chow down on the eggs, as Tes looks at Ai.
"So, I think we're covered, huh? How do you still feel about being Kero's lover, Ai?"

Ai sighs, blushing slightly. "Ye really like putting me on the spot, don't ye, m'lady." Thinking for a bit she drops her head to her paws and smiles lsightly. "Let's just say I'm going to miss him something terrible when he resumes his mantle. There is someone else in my life, you've met him ye know...but well there's issues with that pairing... And he has difficulties keeping his promises. He told me he was going to stick to me like glue, then runs off the first time we have a serious disagreement... I... I guess I doomed to walk alone through life."
Cocking her head to one side she looks up at Tes. "Since you enjoy putting me on the spot so much, let's flip that coin. How do you feel about me? Serious... no mushy platitudes. I want the truth."

"I like you. Pure and simple. Love you...nah, not yet. But you're a nice girl...boy...whatever. I think you and Kero make a great couple, and so long as you remember he's mine, he's all yours to play with."

Ai chuckles sourly. "Not asking ye to love me.... that would really put a twist into this cockeyed relationship and we've got enough issues on our plate as it is... Still just knowing ye don't hate my guts helps, m'lady.... trust me, it does help."
