"Goddess preserve, that could -not- have gone worse..." she lamented as just about everything went wrong before she really had the initiative to react to it. Well, simply had to deal with things as they came, and at the moment it came in the form of a party divided by burning barricades.
With a soft huff, she shifts carefully through the first barricade, stopping before she was even fully out of it and bringing her axe to bear against the flaming barricade blocking her way.
Move Action: Shift 1 space up. Standard Action: Basic Attack vs. Flaming Barricade for 2 damage.

The high elf would try to hustle it past the Orc and below the gate before it fully closed. Granted, Aelgeirr may be asking a bit much...but if successful, the eladrin would then gather his resolve and attempt to strike Goblin 3.
OOC: Double move to B2 Acrobatics check: 1d20-1=16
Using an action point to conduct a scalping check: Attack roll: 1d20+6=13 Damage:1d6+4=6

Ambra Goldstar Mage in Training Ambra looks at the Barricades in disappointment. "Darn, seems like it will take more then one hit." Ambra launches another fireball. This time at little further p the cave to avoid hitting Mercy. Standard action: Ambra casts Scorching Burst on K5, 6 fire damage to surrounding barricades.

ROUND 220 - Aelgeirr, Prone 18 - Ambra17 - Goblin 2, Soiled16 - Thork, 12 damagePORTCULLIS CLOSES ON ROUND 2 15 - Goblin 1, Soiled 14 - Goblin 34 - Mercy, 1 damage0 - Barricades - Ongoing 5 fire damage K7 @ 23 damage. L6 @ 27 damage. L7 @ 16 damage. (NOTE TO SELF: Add fire damage to K4) -------------------- Aelgeirr saw the lowering portcullis, and immediately reacted before it was too late. Breaking into a run, he charged right at Thork, before pushing ↓+B to power slide between the Half?-Orc's legs, unsheathing his hand-axe as soon as he was clear and clearing the portcullis before it closed on him. Trying to follow through with his momentum, he attempts to swing his axe while he was surrounded by targets. However, his long spear got caught up at the last second by the descending portcullis and was throttled some as he lifted to strike, his axe deviating from target. He ends his turn prone. Mercy would begin to fall back on the tried-and-true method of Hack-And-Slash to get through the flaming barricades! She hacks off a sizeable chunk (because if wooden barricades have vulnerable 5 fire, by golly, they have vulnerable 5 axes too!), but it was still a work in progress. Ambra would proceed to try and finish what she started. Loosing another fiery burst, but opts to only conflagrate the farthest one in. It remains intact, but begins creaking as it threatens to fall to pieces. The first goblin to react to Aelgeirr's entry would bark something excited in Goblinspeak, before unsheathing a short sword from its scabbard. However, despite being in an advantageous position, he thrusts the sword into the stone floor instead of elfmeat. Thork, your turn! Aelgeirr is blocking your way beneath the portcullis. You feel a bit lighter than you did a minute ago, though!

It was as if the loud elf acted his own thoughts; before his body had time to react Aelgeirr was though. "Stupid elf." He would mutter in his native Giant as he could only watch for a second. Tossing his weapon to D1 "Mercy! Ambra! Where at?!!", as he moved to C1, where he proceeded to lift the gate to save the stupid elf...

ROUND 2/320 - Aelgeirr, Bloodied, 17 damage, Prone 18 - Ambra17 - Goblin 2, Soiled16 - Thork, 12 damagePORTCULLIS CLOSES ON ROUND 2 15 - Goblin 1, Soiled 14 - Goblin 34 - Mercy, 1 damage0 - Barricades - Ongoing 5 fire damage K7 @ 23 damage. L6 @ 27 damage. L7 @ 16 damage. K4 @ 11 damage. -------------------- Thork, I presume you're dropping your glaive, vs trying to lift the portcullis one-handed? Assuming you're using both hands, you move up to the gate, reaching down and start lifting it. It is made of heavy oak and reinforced at the crossing points with steel bands, so its high-quality stuff; you're doubtful the goblins made it themselves (unlike the crude barricades outside). You're able to get it a few feet off the ground, to about your knees, but you have difficulty raising it higher than that. You did take a crossbow bolt to the arm... The other two goblins would follow the first one's lead and draw their short swords. They would both plunge their blades into Aelgeirr while he was still on the ground, skewering him for 7 and 10 damage, bloodying him!Mercy, Aelgeirr, Ambra, you're up! At the end of the round, the barricade at L6 crumbles and no longer is an obstacle (in case you want to hold until round 3, Mercy). Smoke begins to accumulate at the roof of the tunnel, slowly but surely.

The little Avenger winced as another fireball flew over her head and set the barricade further in ablaze as well. She gave a frustrated little growl and called upon her divine power to hacked away at the barricade blocking her path.
"For Heaven's sake, stop setting things on fire!! Nnh... we'll be with you presently!"
With the barricade destroyed, she quickly darts in, trying to make up some distance and furrowing her brows even more as she sees what's happening around the corner. "Could not. Be worse."
Standard Action: Leading Strike vs. Flaming Barricade for 16 damage. Move Action: Running to I2 in a zig-zaggy fashion to avoid the obstacles.

Mercy's axe strike slices down the barricade before her with ease; her axe cleaves straight down the middle, and the burned/damaged barricade falls to each side, then to pieces. The barricade in K7 is clear!
When Mercy arrives at the corner, she passes a pile of adventurer gear spewed out on the floor where Thork tore his backpack (K3). As she rounds the corner, she would see Aelgeirr on one side of a portcullis surrounded by goblins with swords, while Thork's trying to lift it. He stands by a lever.
You also take note that the floor has a messy tile-on-cave-floor motif, but looking farther into the tunnel, you see that the flooring tiles before you don't match up, as if they are... newer? At least, up to where the lever was installed.

Aelgeirr would do his best to focus as he got up, carefully to ensure that the action wouldn't endanger him from the three goblins that he was stuck with. He would then strike at Gobline #1 with his handaxe, crying out "They're not so strong up close! A couple of good jabs will send them down, Thork!" . Loudly, Aelgeirr would proclaim in Elvish. "I am Aelgeirr of the Afvars! No Afvar has ever fallen to your kind! I will NOT be the first!"
OOC: Move action to stand up Minor action to Inspiring Word that heals 9 damage Standard action to warlord's favor Goblin #1 Dice roll: 1d20+6= 13 Damage Roll 2d6+4= NA

Ambra Goldstar Mage in Training "S-sorry!" Ambra would exclaim. "I was just trying to clear the way!" The little tiefling mage would shift up past the barrier in front of her then, then run in as far as she could into the cave. Move action: Shift diagonally forward 1 square. Standard Action: Move to K2 or L3 ((I'm a little confused on the moment here. Ambra moves up as far a she can after shifting past the barrier. Her movement is 6))

ROUND 320 - Aelgeirr, 13 damage 18 - Ambra17 - Goblin 2, Soiled16 - Thork, 12 damage15 - Goblin 1, Soiled 14 - Goblin 34 - Mercy, 1 damage0 - Barricades - Ongoing 5 fire damage L7 @ 21 damage. K4 @ 16 damage. -------------------- Aelgeirr stands to face the goblins now, towering over them. He takes a casual swing with his axe at one, though the arc is too high to hurt it. This could be because he was too busy pumping himself up. Aelgeirr is no longer bloodied!Ambra, you squeeze past one barricade and then rush in to K2 (you read it right, it seems). You basically just see Aelgeirr trapped behind a portcullis with three goblins, and Thork trying to lift it... though its too crowded to enter, so maybe for Aelgeirr to escape? A pile of adventurer gear sits on the ground to your left. While Aelgeirr's attack missed, the goblins had a much bigger target to work with! The goblin directly before Aelgeirr managed to slash the eladrin's leg with his sword for 5 damage!Thork, you're up! Smoke continues to accumulate within the roof of this tunnel.

The goblins continue to pile in on the Warlord, stabbing at him with his short-swords! Aelgeirr is shown no mercy, stabbed for 6 damage and critically sliced for 8 more, leaving him bloodied once more!Mercy! Aelgeirr! Ambra! Time for action! No substantial changes to the map.

Keen eyes and irritated insight saw a hallway, a gate, an ork struggling with that gate, a goblin-kabob'd eladrin, and a single lever. What was a 16 intelligence gal to think other than: stupid ork? Can't blame a girl for her upbringing.
"If you want him to come out you must actually lift the gate!" she chided as she rushed to his back and pulled the lever. There were quite a few questions about why the lever was on the outside of the gate, and why the goblins would trap themselves on the side of it that can't easily be opened back up, but could easily be opened by attackers, but those were questions for another time. For now she had to focus her efforts on channeling divine power through her Holy Symbol to help out as much as she could.
Standard Action: Radiant Vengeance, Power of Love! targeting Thork for 15 vs. Reflex. Aelgeirr and Thork gain 5 Temporary HP. Move Action: Moving to D1 Minor Action: Pull the lever!!

ROUND 420 - Aelgeirr, Bloodied, 27 damage, 5 temp HPs. 18 - Ambra17 - Goblin 2, Soiled16 - Thork, 15 damage, 15' down.15 - Goblin 1, Soiled 14 - Goblin 34 - Mercy, 7 damage, 15' down.0 - Barricades - Ongoing 5 fire damage L7 @ 21 damage. K4 @ 16 damage. -------------------- Mercy, you use your divine powers to bolster your allies, before throwing the very tempted lever! As soon as it chnks into place, you suddenly feel momentarily weightless, as the ground opens up beneath you. You, and Thork, suddenly begin to descend, into an unlit room below. Aelgeirr, the portcullis closes shut with a SLAM behind you. If you look over your shoulder, you only see Ambra at the end of the hall. The goblins around you are now thoroughly hooting and hollering and laughing. The first attack you have against one this round will be at combat advantage. Mercy, Thork, you land in a pit fifteen feet below with an unceremonious thud! Thork takes 8 3 damage, while Mercy takes 6 damage! You can't really see down here but you think you landed on something bumpy. It kind of smells down here. Aelgeirr, Ambra, you're up!
