Arron nodded as he stood. "It's not f-far from h-here..." he said as he paid for both their meals.

"Thank you. I'm sorry you have to pay for me with everything. If I'm able, I'll pay you back in the future." the slave stated, walking to the door and opening it for Arron to walk through.

"Y-You don't have to... I-I like being nice to-to people." he said with a smile & thank his friend for opening the door. He then led the way to the circus.

The trip to the circus was short, and it was incredibly easy to find. It was an enormous big-top in the middle of a field, surrounded by stands of food, merchandise, and circus-goers. Cirque Du Gothique was labelled brightly on a sign that hung on the front of the tent, and spot-lights lined the path toward the open flaps. The slave looked on in awe. He felt apprehensive, but just as excited.

Arron smiled, taking in the sight. He had never been to a Gaian circus before, but it was very nice to go to one. "Let's f-find out s-seats..." he said walking to the entrance to the big tent.

The slave didn't reply, too astonished by how big and vibrant everything was. He walked along with Arron as they looked for the seats that were labelled on the tickets. Oddly enough, the seats were near the front, and the two were put in a place where they could very easily see the show when it started. It seemed it was about to begin as well, as almost every seat was filled.

The young man found their seats & sat. Arron waited for the show to begin with his friend, just as excited as he was.

Suddenly and without warning, all of the lights in the big-top turned off, and the audience members were startled before becoming silent. The slave flinched, not expecting complete blackness. Just as quickly as the lights had gone off though, a single spot-light appeared centre-stage, and there stood the ever vibrant Ringmaster, dressed his best as usual.

"Bonjour and Bonsoir, ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls! Are you ready to see the spectacle of a life time?" the man spoke, raising his arms above his head. He grinned when he heard a cheer from the audience, and then twirled once, only to face the other way as the spotlight followed him.
"Then prepare yourselves to be shocked and amazed by death-defying dare-devils, mystifying magicians, and much much more. I give you the one... the only... CIRQUE DU GOTHIQUE!" he pointed a finger into the air, and all of the lights turned on to reveal the first act, a tight-rope walker high above the ground.

Arron was in awe at each that played. He enjoyed the acts & clapped along. He looked over at his friend to see how he was enjoying the show.

The slave enjoyed each performance. He was on the edge of his seat, unblinking as he watched the tight-rope walker. When the clown did her act, he was chuckling and tearing up with laughter. The Magician was wonderful as well, along with his flying bunny creature, and the magic act left everyone in the audience confused and amazed.

The Ringmaster appeared before the audience as the last act ended, just as he did to introduce each one before. He lifted his hat off of his head and put it to his chest.
"Now's the time for you to hold tightly to your hats, ladies and gentlemen...and especially hold tightly to your heads. If you're not careful, you just may lose them. Introducing, the king of beasts! The mighty lion!" he bowed at the waist, and gestured behind him as a cage rose to centre stage, containing a ferocious lion that clawed through the bars angrily.

Arron was no longer focused on the ring, but his friends reaction to the lion. He wanted to know if he'd remember anything else while they were there. He hoped he would regain a large portion of his memories from this act.

The slave was looking on, frowning a little at how distraught the lion seemed to be. He watched for the tamer, hoping he or she wouldn't be brandishing a whip as he imagined they would be, but he could not see anyone on stage but the Ringmaster.

"And now, for Cirque du Gothique's rising star! The raven-haired mystery with the sordid history! ATTICUS!" the Ringmaster announced with a wide, almost devilish grin on his face. On cue, a spotlight came on pointed right at the slave.

"Ah...what?!" the slave uttered in shock as the whole audience turned to look at him.

Arron was surprised just as much as the slave was. "...Uh... K-Kinda p-put on the spot here... Uh... J-Just... go for it." he said nudging the slave. He had no clue what to do but to play along. He hoped it would help the man's memory however.

"Ah... but... I'm not..." the slave uttered before he was helped to his feet by another audience member and cheered to the stage on shaky legs. He looked at the lion, then back at the ringmaster, confused.

"Release the lion!" the Ringmaster shouted, and the cage door opened with a tug of the rope attached to a bar. Without pause, the lion charged out of the cage, growling and roaring ferociously as it gazed at the audience as if staring at a menu.
"Now, the great Atticus will send this beast back into its cage with his bare hands!! Keep silent, folks. Any quick movements and it could mean the end for you." his heterochromic eyes glanced over at the slave, and he grinned, nodding his head.

The slave looked at the lion, legs still shaking. It took him a moment to process what had been said, but he quickly took a stance and made eye contact with the lion, getting a growl in response. As the audience watched on, he put his arms over his head, and stomped the stage with his foot, making the lion flinch and growl again. He smiled softly, noticing that the lion was already well trained by the way it held its position and growled on cue to startle the audience.

Arron watched with baited breath as his friend confronted the lion. He had a hunch it was trained, but he still did not want anything to go wrong.
