He cracks an eye and sighs. "Ummm... do ye really think that is such a good story to read while Salunia is visiting?" he asks with a frown.

**some of the older ones aren't much better... LOL**
Again, Tam sighs and settles into his chair, eyes shut, listening to Kero read. Almost, if he lets the present slip away, he can believe they are back several years, to a time before all the craziness began to set in. He is well on his way to falling asleep in his chair when a damp, squirming torpedo launches itself into his lap.
"Whars the wose?" Salunia demands, bracing herself with her paws on his chest, licking his face to wake him up.
"Huh..." stammers Tam in confusion, as he gathers her close in a hug and sits up. Then his brain begins to work and he laughs. "Oh the rose... it's on the desk... be careful now. It's delicate."

Tam stands up and joins them. "A very special friend gave it to me one time... after he got me very very angry... it was an 'I'm sorry' present. Have you ever gotten one of those?" he asks picking her up and kissing her forehead.

Tam smiles wisely. "Well, someday you might... and then you'll understand how special such a present is. Right, Fortuny?" he asks as the lioness joins them in the living room.

Tam kisses the cub good night and puts her down. "Sweet dreams, princess. See you in the morning." Then he goes to help Kero fix his bath. "Any patches need oiling before ye soak, kiddo?" he asks hauling the now empty tub back into the kitchen.

Tam pulls down the bottle of oil that Shar had made up especially for Kero's patches and works it into the spot. "There, dulcha.... that should help. And it will keep it from getting raw as well. Now where is that brush of yours.... Why don't ye get washed up while I look for it. I think it's in the bedroom." says Tam absently, heading off to find it.

Tam returns to find two tiny black points sticking up out of the water and laughs. "Better come up for air..." he calls to the lion as he sits down near by. "Want me to scrub anything loose?"
