By then Lyssan is back with Passura and they have two baskets of fruit, veggies and salad goods. She tells him to go rest and watches over the sleeping trio while Passura makes up a large salad and roasts some tubers, over which he pours a fruit sauce.

Tam stands up and walks over to his daughters, laughing silently. "You've think I'd get used to that by now... but his snoring will wake me every single time." He looks down at Argeeis and smiles. "Shining bright one... how apropos... she does indeed shine... but then so does Mara, only not so strongly. Will it fade, Ma? I don't want her to turn into a walking target for anyone who decides they want to subvert her."

Lyssan joins him, wearing a thoughtful frown. "It will fade, for a time, but eventually it will return. Hopefully she be able to defend herself by then. Did Kero tell you how Shia died? Defending the one she loved."

Tam nods grimly. "Aye... he did. Though not until we realized she had taken on a new form. I wasn't doing too good towards the end and he didn't want to upset me. How rare is that anyway. I thought kitsune dissipate when they pass on."

She shrugs. "It very well may be a first. We have no souls you know, not as you and so many others have. Very long lives, very tenuous existences."

Perhaps you are wrong about that." says Tam gently. "What is that saying... no good turn goes unrewarded... surely both you and Da... and Shia as well... have done more than your share of good turns."

Lyssan smiles up at him and pats his arm. "When my time comes and if I do seem to find myself saddled with a continued existence of some form or another, I'll let you know, OK?" She leaves him o go check on Passura's progress with their lunch. As she passes the mage she whispers to herself. "I know one individual who has redeemed himself a hundred... nay a thousand times over... one who, too, glows like the sun."

Lyssan hears his rambling thoughts and laughs silently to herself. "Even now he refuses to see. Ah well... someday he'll figure it out.... Hope I'm around to see it."

Bez returns later with a small deerlike animal over his should. Since the island doesn't have anything of the sort. Tam lifts a graceful brow and suggests that maybe they should raise some goats or deer on the island, rather than fly so far to the mainland to hunt. He is grateful for the meat, but isn't too certain about Bez hunting so far from home on his own. He knows Bezernia has been hunting like this ever since he's learned how, but he's noticed a change in the dark-haired angel. Since they had cemented their soulbond, the once feral creature has lost his caustic hyper alert edge, something he is certain has helped him on such trips in the past.

Bez shrugs with a lopsided grin. "I'd welcome the help. But ye know, Tam might be right. Goats might not be a bad idea. Not only for meat. They are a good source of milk as well and don't need as much care. We could keep a few for milking and set the others free. But do you think the island can handle it? I've terraformed it considerably as it is..."

"Over here, Mes'sirrah!" calls Passura from the kitchen. He is putting the finishing touches on a tart fruit pastry and right now, looks more white then black, with a dusting of flour all over him. "The bag broke..." he says with a pout.
