Tam lowers his head to his paws with a heavy groan. "Don't worry about keeping me awake... I'm so groggy right now you will probably be able to scream like a banshee in my ear in a few minutes and I won't hear a thing." mumbles Tam sleepily, his eyes slowly closing.

"If ye scream in my ear before I fall asleep, Taro, it will mean time out for a month..." growls the cat without moving so much as an eyelash.

Mica shakes his head. "No more than you would have really yelled in his ear. He was simply letting you know, he knew you were there. Here... try this one... Myra has been experimenting with some fresh herbs."

Mica smiles and divides up the rest of the meal between them, placing two more such steaks in front of the cub and a nicely browned one before himself. There are also roasted potatoes, dripping in fresh butter, bread, straight from the ovens and newly harvested honey. There is even a plate for Sharmistra who quickly joins them when the heavenly scent of the food drifts into her quarters. She eyes the feast with delight, but it quick to notice something lacking.

"No greens..." she states with an accusatory stare at the older priest.

He laughs and hands her a covered dish he has been hiding. "No need spoiling a perfectly good meal, Sharmistra..." he retorts with a wink for the cub. "But Myra did send along a mess of fresh ones in some sort of dressing. Sad... not enough for the rest of us, I fear. And since Kero and I do not wish to deprive you of your delight, you can have them."

Shar's return glare sends him into a fit of stifled giggles. But her obvious delight as she tucks into the salad soon has him wishing he had saved a smallish amount for himself, just to taste.

"Perhaps not, young cat, but it has been shown that all creatures could and should eat some form of vegetables... including irascible Head Masters." says Sharmistra with a twinkle in her eye.

"Hey now..." cries Mica with a touch of dismay. But her laughter shows she is only teasing.

"Hmmm... fruit would be a start... certain ones certainly would help to replace trace minerals which not all prey eat on their own... and some grasses, much as a tabby would eat them... as a treat only, I'm afraid... You wouldn't need much, to be sure... You're digestive tract isn't designed to consume large quantities of vegetable matter." says Sharmistra, thoughtfully.

"Ah, but it is the best thing to soothe an aching tummy for most four legged meat eaters..." Shar counters knowingly.
