Pyrrha brought her blade back and held it with the blade facing downward. She then stabbed down at the spider hoping to finish it.

Pyrrha's blade slices through the body of the spider. It gives a small shudder before it's legs curl up under it's massive body and it topples over, it's corpse leaking a nasty smelling fluid all over the floor.
The hallway behind it is covered with webbing. Tucked away in various areas you can just make out oddly shaped, but unmoving, lumps.

Lydia looks at John with a concerned look and moves a little closer to him in case he stumbles. "That was quite a bite you took there, no doubt poisonous too, based on the spider. You look like your about to give up the ghost. Should we retreat to the surface until we've recovered? Or are we still going to try and hold up in the library?"

(+1 Listen, Spent it with family, and the days following at my brother's ranch. So, mostly good for me. )
John looked at her and smiled to ease her worry, "It will take more than that, 'fore the gods get my soul. And, I don't think the poison took effect." But, he knew how close he was to seeing the library of Baccob. A little harder bite, or if the poison took effect, they might not be having this conversation.
"Both have their foreseeable problems, but I still see the library giving us the best idea of what is happening. And might give us a better idea of how to beat it."
