NocturnalVeil iiilullaby-katie oh alright, the east coast is an hour a head of there though so i was thrown off my that xD it doesnt mean anything, it was a very helpful map. we learn nothing about eurpoe in school. so everything i know about europe and time difrences i learn from the internet xD Sweden isn't very large so we get to learn about pretty much the whole world. Not everything of course but in history for example we start at dinosaurs and work out way up to present time, then repeat "important" history in high school. We also have to learn every country and their capital city + seas and big rivers. Even if you did have that in school Malmoe isn't a capital city so you wouldn't come across it any way.... I sucked at Africa, I remember several countries but I have no idea were most is on a map. sweatdrop We didn't have much asian history either, only thing I remember was related to the silk road so more or less an extention of european history. rolleyes thats cool. im going to be in my last year of school and teachers are still trying to teach some kids the capital of the country they live in, how to read a clock and the diffrent of "to and "too" and "two" i cant even name 10 countrys in africa. and we never did any thing on asia. or africa, or europe. were only getting south america beucase i took an optional spanish language class and an optional american history class. sweatdrop the school system fails here.

I actually don't know know the diffarance between "to" and "too"... I just guess... I got "two" down though so I'm not hopeless. lol No wonder my fiance gets these odd questions from clanmembers about countries and religion in Europe. Did you know that Sweden became protestantic christians when the king wanted to go to war but couldn't rob the churches if the pope had power in Sweden? lol

The healthcare is about the same, we focus on the same types of sports and Swedes have only a year or so longer lifespan on avarage and Canadians are generally in school one year more than Swedes on avarage... perhaps that's what gives us one year extra to live. xp I can only think of one thing that's pretty different and that's the temperature. We got the golfstream passing here so I sometimes don't even get snow in the winters. lol

Yeah we have moose. xd Then it's even more similar than I thought, my part here in the south is like your west coast and the north of Sweden is like we're you live... it doesn't get that cold but -30 isn't unusual since it's so far from the coast. It's not odd Canada have parts that differ with a country that big, like USA that got pretty much every climate type short of rainforrest. Funny thing about Swedish animals though, they're all smaller than their Canadian relatives. Moose, reindeer, wolf, bear... even seaguls are smaller here. Wonder why... I know the reindeers are smaller because of the Samis. (native people of sweden...kind of like indians) They lived in the north ever since the ice melted away during the ice age and they keep the reindeers in herds, they run freely but the samis tend to them. If a bull get's big and dominant there's a chance he'll lead the herd away and the Samis would lose all their reindeers if that happens so they never let the bulls get more than a few years old so the big dominant bulls go first and the smaller ones get to mate more, so a few thousand years later they are half the size of the american reindeers. rolleyes

(a large city is consitered a city with over 600,000 people) Canada is bigger then the US. 2nd largest in the world by land mass. i think were also missing a desert though XD ive only seen reindeer in the zoo, i dont live that far enough north xD but all the aniamls i have seen here are really big. and ive seen them in my yard. well a wolf, some deer, and a cyote, and a fox. ive seen bear a few miles from here.
