Well, they finally do disappear, along with half his fur, the top half. Or rather, the half that was for some strange reason covered with night dark feathers up to then.

Seeing the look on his face, Ai can contain it no longer, chuckling softly she comes close and rubs against him. "It's alright, dulcha... I still love you, even if you look a bit... well cold. Too bad it wasn't the fur on your lower half... I know a way of warming that side of you up."

Well the color is right, even if the length is a bit off. I mean who cares iffin it's long and curly or not. And to prove her point when he shows signs of trying again, Ai sidles up next to him and nuzzles him gently, leaving very little doubt in his mind what was going through hers.

"Were you really that worried about me?" she asks in a soft concerned voice.

Ai smiles shyly at him. "I'm sorry..." she whispers softly in his ear. "I didn't mean to upset you. I... I had to go cool off."

Ai smiles at him and leads the way into the cave, running her tail under his nose as she walks by. "Oh I"m ready to heat things up a bit. How about you?"

Ai is very grateful for his attention. After arguing with Tam in her head for as long as she did, she was beginning to question her motives and actions all over again. But having Kero prove to her how attractive and how much he wants her over and over again goes a long way to dispelling her gloomy mood. Not that she didn't understand Tam's motives. She knew each and every one of his arguments inside out. They were one and the same after all, they just viewed things in slightly differing slants. Thus by morning, as the two of them slowly drift off to sleep, curled up together in a cosy ball, she is once again feeling more like herself and less like a rug underfoot. She is no dummy. Sho knows none of this can last, for reasons so numerous she doesn't even want to begin to count them. But for now, she is willing to live the dream. And so dream she does... of flying and being with the one she loves over a valley rich and fertile, filled with growing things.

Ai's dreams seem to run a longside his for some time, then his unconscious efforts become a bit too vigorous for her to sleep through. Startled she awakens, only to begin laughing her head off. Talk about living one's life in a dream. Smiling to herself, she decides she needs to remember this one for a future date. He's never going to believe it though unless she does something soon to wake him up. So she begins to tickle him with the end of her tail in some rather sensitive places.

Ai follows him outside and sits nearby, not exactly at his side but a few feet away. She knows he's embarrassed and doesn't want to egg him on unduly.

"Kero, is something wrong? I wasn't angry... it happens, I know... not often, but it does. Sometimes dreams are so vivid they reflect what we want to do in real life... reflect them so clearly that our bodies respond as though it were really happening... to the point it really does happen... some people sleep walk, some sleep talk, and others... well... others do what comes naturally."
