My brother looooooves spam musubi and has tried to get me to eat it several times. I am not fond of either spam or sushi, so I am not too keen on the idea. XD
Cinnamon, what nationality is meat-stuffed bitter squash? I've never heard of it before. surprised

Pugnacious Banana romesilk Ladies and gentlemen, my least favorite food: the olive. http://i.imgur.com/OJ0gq.jpgI realize not all olives are cocktail olives, but I wanted to make sure it was readable as an olive and not... some random oval green thing. I know olives are really awesome and great, and I love olive oil, but olives themselves I cannot stand. And I've tried to like them! I am the sort of person who generally eats and enjoys everything -- even strange foods most people hate, like natto. When I go grocery shopping, if I spot something weird, I buy it. When I'm at a restaurant, I'll order the most unfamiliar thing on the menu. If you've never heard of it, I've probably eaten and enjoyed it. In my attempts to like olives, I've tasted cheap and expensive ones, olives of all colors, and in all sorts of places and ways. They all taste absolutely awful and disgusting to me! olives are my least favourite food too. gonk
now i need to find something else to draw. xDI knew there was a reason I liked you. 8D

I've never heard of it before. surprised i think certain parts of china, japan, and southeast asia have some variation of this dish. you don't see them in chinese restrauants because it's one of those things that people really need an acquired taste for. . .i imagine it's difficult to commercialize this in western countries. . .it's really really really bitter Google Pictures

It seems like most recipes boil the melon to remove some of the bitterness. I've seen that sort of melon before but never knew what it was! And I'm not a huge melon fan period (very slightly allergic) so I would never try it on my own. Cool, I learned something! Thanks! XD

XD yeah. . .i don't know the true origins of it but it's definitely common in asia. . .i know that the vietnamese name for it litterly means "sorrow/suffering pass". . .my parents used to say that only people who understands what true sadness and suffering is can trully enjoy this dish. XD haha. . .i never knew if it was a joke or not. i've lived a pretty easy life so there is no way i can ever enjoy it, i suppose.

Quote: He seemed to relax a bit. “I's been doin' me best, really,” he sighed. “The Cap'n, he dictates the messages to me, and I take 'em down right fast. And I's asked him to take a look at 'em, catch me spellin' and things like that. But he ain't got the time, I understand that. But no one else can help me none. So I just do me best and then code 'em with the cipher book, send 'em out. I hope they's understandable.” “Show me?” Marielle held out an inked quill and a sheet of paper. “Show you wot?” Ben asked hesitantly before taking them. “Write for me.” His face flushed. “I ain't sure--” “Of course you can. I just want to see how you do.” Ben let out a deep sigh. “Awright. Fine. Wotcha want me to write? Want me to take a message for your mum or somethin'?” “No, that's fine, I will do that myself in Ombiterran. I just want to see how you write.” His face screwed up. “I guess.” He leaned over the desk and began to scrape out letters in a tortured script. Marielle watched carefully. This is what he wrote: “Helo me name iz Ben Morley. Is got me 2 brodders and me frend Todd on this ship. I am 24 yers old. I kin rite just fine but Id lik to be beter.” Day 45 - Pen and "Papper" / Rich wink I chose Pen and Paper as the theme but the segment ended up with some pretty big class comments, so while "Rich" doesn't fit great, I think it has a place here.
