His tension eases almost immediately, a playful grin tugging at his mouth. "My dear Cid, nothing is truly safe here." He steps closer to her, his voice almost a purr, "Especially with a dragon of my reputation around."

The knight seemed to tense for a moment, her hand going to her mouth to cover it, when she started laughing. Hard. "Oh ashes, Lady Phantom was right about you being an absolute flirt. We've barely been talking a few minutes." He was right though about things not being really safe. More than a handful of magic users, a dragon, a ghost, and other manners of beings she would never have suspected to be acquainted with one another. And then her. A small scarred up knight with a blade and a temper to boot. "Surely Nef there are some damsels around here your charms would be much better directed at?" If she had real, working eyes at the moment, she would be rolling them to tease him. He was funny. Almost like a skirt chaser she knew back home. Just...the other one didn't have the know-how to try and act suave. Yet. He'd probably get it one of these days. Or his sister would knock it out of him.

Cid's laughter subsided as she straightened back up, coughing the remainder of it out and lightly patting the dragon on the arm. "Nice try. Though maybe you shouldn't have already made your intentions known." She pointed over in the direction she'd heard a certain ribbon loving elf, a smile playing on the visible portion of her face, "You two seem fond of one another...perhaps something will come of it, in the future?"

Hearing a raised voice, the Phantom turned towards the dragon. She frowned at his threat. A second later she appeared at his side, "Pardon?"

There was a small nod from the knight, "I think I understand. Sometimes being what you are puts a target on your back...it wouldn't be fair to an innocent party if they got hurt because of...something you can't really help." Whether she meant him being a dragon, or something else entirely that was on her mind, wasn't too clear in her words. Her still gloved hand crossed infront of her, taking hold of her other arm in a subconsciously defensive gesture.

"Hmm...? What was that you said about a Maria? I'm sorry I- Oh dear Lady Phantom you've returned!" she said giving a start at suddenly hearing the ghost's voice again.

A frown of confusion remained on her face. Seconds of silence passed as she tried to decipher his words and why they were uncomfortably familiar. Slowly, recognition came over her as she realized that that had been her name in life. "Oh..." She did not recall telling the dragon her name, but she must have at one point. Her countenance shifted to one that was lined with annoyance, "I do not understand why you invoke my name."



The Phantom gave you a terse curtsy in greeting. Recalling you could not see, she then added, "I have."

Thoughtfulness mixed in with her annoyance. She faded out of sight and into invisibility once more. Once unseen, she paced back and forth. Her eyes darted from guest to guest as she analyzed them. Carefully, she weighed the facts. The Phantom had taken care to cover her history; the only threat here was the devil. Reaching a decision, she manifested in front of the dragon and the knight. "My apologies, Nef. It does not upset me. It is merely that I am not used to hearing my name used so casually. It is not something I share often or lightly." Her tone emphasized the last part.

She answered Cidri next, "Phantom has never been my name. For spirits, it is more akin to a title."
