This is how it feels when you take your life back, this is how it feels when you finally fight back...
When life pushes me, I push harder, what doesn't kill me makes me stronger. Mairi shrugged shyly. I guess so. I don't know much about fashion or clothes, she said shyly. She exhaled softly as she finished eating before she felt a dull ache start in her hip and thigh where Lucas' broken femur was. She winced as she inhaled sharply, shifting in discomfort. Damn it, Lucas... knowing him, he probably tried to sleep on that injured leg, she muttered in annoyance.

When life pushes me, I push harder, what doesn't kill me makes me stronger. Mairi exhaled as she stood, wincing a bit. I'm pretty sure he'll be okay, it's just irritating feeling the echoes of his pain... even if I can dull the link... never have been able to shut it completely for some reason, she said shyly. She exhaled softly as she went to the sink before she jumped ever so slightly, her vision blurring for just a second as it sharpened to inhuman keenness, unaware for just a few seconds, her irises had shifted from a deep cobalt-indigo color to a bright scarlet. She didn't realize she'd stumbled back from the sudden disorienting feeling as her vision cleared, the scarlet fading from her irises until she felt herself collide with something soft.

Mairi shrugged as she looked up at her mother, half leaning against the taller woman before she straightened up, wincing a bit. I have it dulled now, otherwise it'd feel like needles poking me from the inside out... but it's still uncomfortable... and if I'm honest, I'm a bit worried if I were able to block it completely, how Lucas might react... if he even knows of the link, she said shyly.

I'm not sure he even knows of the link between us and if he doesn't, it's possible that the connection... if... he doesn't know of it, and I were able to block it, it's likely he'd feel... off... more than I do now, she said shyly.
