There's also a stage direction, I *believe* from King Lear, that was brought up in Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium, "He dies". smile

Well... it's not a *great* movie, but it's a fun movie. I personally like quirky movies, so... your mileage may vary. It does have some lovely moments, though... and the quote I mentioned earlier, "Your life is an event. Live up to it."
There's also a very nice bit with his shoes... but I don't want to spoil it. smile

Maybe I'll mention it to my brother. If he gets it through NetFlix I'll watch it, but it doesn't sound like something worth pursuing... Anyway, I've discovered something most disturbing: This printing of Othello has the stage direction "he dies", but this one does not! Instead, it has "faints"! The preceding line is different too! (II, ii, 188; page 137 in the first link) This new discovery has shaken me. Shaken me right down to my very core.

Yeah, different versions always bug me a bit; that's one thing that annoys me about Bible translations, especially the King James version. They were, ah, a bit less than faithful with their source material whilst translating, according to a lot of Biblical scholars... confused
Hm... I need to remember which box my annotated Complete Works of Shakespeare in 3 volumes is in... It's a terrific set I got at Costco years ago, with the Tragedies in one volume, the Comedies in another, and the Histories and Sonnets in a third. (Capitalization for emphasis only.) ^_^

Mr. Magorium: When King Lear dies in Act V, do you know what Shakespeare has written? He's written, "he dies." That's all, nothing more. No fanfare, no metaphor, no brilliant final words. The culmination of the most influential work of dramatic literature is "he dies". It takes Shakespeare's genius to come up with "he dies". And yet every time I read those two words, I find myself overwhelmed with disphoria. And I know it's only natural to be sad, but not because of the words "He dies," but because of the life we saw prior to the words.
I've lived all five of my acts, Mahoney, and I am not asking you to be happy that I must go. I'm only asking that you turn the page, continue reading, and let the next story begin. And if anyone ever asks what became of me, you relate my life in all its wonder, and end it with a simple, modest, "and he died."
Oh, and I've been slightly mis-quoting: "Your life is an occasion. Rise to it."

"You know who also thought of that? HITLER!!!" - my younger brother "Goddammit, Grandpa! You ruined Christmas!" - younger brother(again) while watching this Christmas cartoon when a grandfather fell on the Christmas tree. "Gee Wilickers, it must be Obvious Day on Camp Stupid." - Shake in ATHF
There was this quote from the Simpsons that Granpa Simpson made during the Loolapalooza episode during a flashback when Homer wanted to know why his father was uncool and not into the "thing", but I can't remember it exactly...

"The only sin is theft.... do you understand?"
"No, Baba"
"When you kill someone, you steal his life. When you rape a woman you steal her innocence. When you lie to someone, you steal their right to the truth... and so on... Do you understand now?"
"Yes, Baba."

I'll see your Kite Runner dialog and raise you 8-Bit Theatre
Black Mage: Does that look like an invisible sky castle? Fighter: Sure, maybe. I've never seen on. Black Mage: Can you imagine why? [pause] Fighter: Because they're quite rare? Black Mage: I... You... Thief: Technically, he's not wrong, you know. Black Mage: But he should be.
