Fryma waited until Karin decided to go wading with Moni's sister, then he pulled Moni aside. "Moni, I need to know what you think of me, what you truly think of me, after yesterday."

Moni looked down at that. It was a hard question. 'I'm afraid of making you angry, but I don't think that you're cruel.' He was telling the truth, and didn't look up as he wrote it. He feared when Fryma was mad, but didn't fear him when he was calm.

Fryma frowned. "I don't want you to be afraid of me, Moni. I do get upset, but rarely as upset as yesterday. I told at the beginning I wouldn't hurt you. That remains true."

Moni nodded, though still afraid of making him mad. He curled up against him like an obedient pet and closed his eyes. He didn't have the heart to tell him just how deep his fear went, how even the slightest bit of anger in his voice could send terror through Moni's veins.

Fryma sighed and rubbed his back. "I promise to never get angry with you, Moni. Whatever else happens, I will never get angry with you," he murmured.

Moni relaxed against him, closing his eyes. A promise... he could live with that promise. His fear eased a bit and Moni felt a small sense of relief.

Fryma kissed his hair. "You're okay, my love. My love." He continued murmuring soothing words into Moni's hair, rubbing his back, his lips never leaving Moni's hair.

Moni blushed at the assurances and those lips on his hair, relaxing further until he found it impossible to fear him. Impossible to see him as any other spirit than this sweet, kind, loving spirit holding him.

They stood that way until the sun was directly overhead. "Come on. I imagine you're getting hungry. It's almost lunchtime after all," he said softly, his fingers lightly brushing Moni's cheek briefly.

Moni leaned into the touch, smiling. He nodded and nuzzled him lightly.

Fryma led the way back to the river side, gathering nuts and berries. "I was thinking, the villagers shouldn't bother you or your family any more. Do you want your mother and sister to stay here? Or do you want them to go back to the farm?"

Moni thought. 'I won't decide for them, but they can go back if they want to.' He spelled out with rocks, smiling and collecting berries and nuts with him.

Fryma nodded and fell silent as they slowly made their way back to the river side. Once there, he sat in the grass and ate, still silently, as he watched the small family."
((I'm writing a short story about this from before Fryma met Moni. If it's cool with you, I was thinking maybe I could post it or something.))

Moni sat beside him as they ate, smiling. Once he was done, his sister came over, hugging him happily and nearly tackling him as she did so. "This place is great! You are so lucky you get to live here!" She squealed.

"You can live here, too, if you'd like," Fryma offered quietly, smiling. "You and your mother are welcome here. You can do whatever you wish."
