Without thinking Ai surges after him, but her strokes soon grow steadily weaker as the heat begins to overtake her. She might be able to withstand the heat better in this form, but she's been in the pool for some time now and heading into the deeper, hotter end of the pool probably wasn't a good idea. Halfway there, she peters out and floats once again, calling out to him worriedly.

"Kero... could ye tow me back... I..." her words fade as she begins to pass out, still floating but not for long.

She lifts a shaky hand to the side of his face and smiles thinly. "S... sorry... didn't think it would hit me that hard. I... I didn't scare you too much, dulcha?"

Kero sees her begin to shake and realizes she's still not fully recovered, so he curls up next to her.

Ai starts to laugh, even as she shakes. "Oh... that really is going to look good iffin anyone comes in... " she teases lacing her fingers through his fur. She kisses him on the nose and smiles mischieviously. "And I'm warnin' ye with a line taken from yer own book... Don't start anything ye don't want to finish, Kero..."

To his surprise he isn't the only one with a growing problem and it is apparaent the moment he lies down on her.

She blushes deeply and kisses his nose once more. "You tickle me and yer dead, cat." she warns with a low chuckle. "And iffin ye keep that up, I"m going to have to go for a swim in the river. On second thought we may both have to go for a swim in the river. Trouble with that scenario is that ye'll get all chilled and then I'd have to warm ye up and well, we'll just be repeating things ad nauseum... until we settle it. So think twice about what ye start... Is this what you really want?"

She closes her eyes for a bit then nods. "But hold off for just a bit."

Confused, he starts to move away but she holds onto him, lacing her fingers ever more securely into his fur. Then he feels it, power, building from within, then moving outwards from where they lie.

Sighing she relaxes at last and smiles thinly at him. "Had to make certain we don't have any unwanted intruders. I put up a deflection shield. Anyone heading back this way will suddenly think of something else they absolutely need to do elsewhere. Won't last forever though... so iffin ye don't mind... " She pulls him into a warm embrace and kisses him on the nose once more, then rubs her face alongside his, in a move more leonine than angellic.

The bard sighs softly as he/she works his fingers deep into the fur around Kero's ears. Then suddenly without warning, Kero finds himself falling inward, or so it seem, caught up in an inward spiral that pulls him deep into Ai's mind, coming out hovering inches from the edge of a rocky outcropping above a verdant meadow between a pair of towering moutains. To his surprise he is sporting a pair of massive night dark wings.

Overhead something large flies in a gentle glide and when he looks up he sees a snow white griffin on wing, flying just out of his reach. It sees him looking and tauntingly darts ever higher into the sky

In the back of his mind he remembers fleeting bits of information concerning those breeds of animals that mate on wing... the higher, the longer, the more elaborate the flight the better, he seems to recall, though he can't for the life of him remember where he had read that tidbit of information. Still he knows he needs to get above her somehow, which means he has to outfly her or out manuveur her through some fancy piece of wing work. Which bothers him somewhat as he's never been a lfyer, at least not in the life he recalls, and yet the longer he is aloft the more his body seems to recall, reading the air currents for him, showing him what to do.
