*I think this one's already been posted - but due to the time of year - it SO needs a re-post* You know you're in the SCA when - you go to a costume party, and the invitation has a postscript that says 'SCA garb does NOT count as a costume'

Annalise Morwen Faeyas - When your house has gone to Ren Faire only to speak better and act more authentic then the proformers there, making everybody think that you work there (even children of 4; ren faire is the best time to bother the normal folk, because even though they are "ready" for it, they really arn't.) Hear Hear!!
So much fun! rofl yep.

When people ask you if you work there at Sturbrage Village (local COLONIAL living history tourist place), even if you're wearing modern clothing. My parents stopped taking us because they were getting really sick of it.

HERE!! HERE!!
I know this has been said, when you go to a cloth shop and start see garb, but, ONLY in the natural fibers section, or walk up to the remmants and pull out the only natural fiber cloth there, know what it is, and plan the garb there.

First I have to address the one you quoted... I not only think that history is a cake class, I've taken it one step farther and decided to make it my cake major. Rattan+garden hose+duct tape(not necessarily silver)=Me being one happy boy... and usually sore, but its all good I think that gunpowder is the most over rated thing ever invented.

You gave up the fight You left me behind All that’s done’s Forgiven You know you're in SCA when you get angry at your English teacher for teaching Beowulf wrong.... and get ISS for correcting her too often...
When your World History teacher is asking you about correctness of facts, and about royal trivia...
And gunpowder isn't overrated. It's just a more modern form of sharp and pointies... that aren't sharp or shiny. You’ll always be mine I know deep inside All that’s done’s Forgiven
