II Little China DoLL II Kai_Chi -.- I'm gonna have to sit down one day and just re-install my photoshop, its been 5 days now that my photoshop won't let me use my wacom pen lower than half way on the screen... very annoying cat_scream Is it the tablet itself? o_o;;
Has it happened before?
And omg, so many dates for DST........ @ - @;;
I see what you mean, that's quite a headache.
Source no its not the wacom : 3 If I use it on anything but photoshop it works fine, its only once I open photoshop it bugs, but just inside photoshop. I've tried restarting my computer/photoshop and no go, so its really the program thats bugged... for some reason X3. But yea the day light saving thing, its quite a lot to figure out, thats why were starting to look into that right now. : 3

Kai_Chi II Little China DoLL II Kai_Chi Because the time zones changes in spring for everyone by one hour at different times. So depending on where your time zone is, your clocks will be set a head one hour either on march 11th, march 25th, april 1st ect.(depends on where you are, but date vary, its not all done on the same day... why... because people like to make things complicated for nothing ._. ) But yea, we just don't want anyone loosing an hour in the event because of this silly none sence Then just extend the deadline by one hour for that day.
You don't really need to babysit the deadline, since no one can cheat the timestamp
(there are also many eyes in this thread).
I'm sure no one will go emotion_omnomnom on you if you didn't update that night.
Rather they make it or not, it won't be effect by one night not being updated immediately.
(If that makes sense.)
It will give everyone that proper hour (for some people, they gain an extra hour)... I see a win-win with this xD;
Oh snap, I just noticed... wait, why are there three dates?!
Isn't daylight saving like only on one Sunday? >.>; Yea thats the thing the days change according to what time zone you have, So eastern time zone, will change one day, and pacifique time zone will change on another day. So far we have 6-7 different time zones with in this event right now 3nodding So many of these will have time changes on different days Just to make it more comicated in april I will be loosing daylight saving as it is summer moving into aytumn here. So we go back an hour. I posted my time zone which is NZDT atm til April. So it's UTC +13. I made a suggestion that perhaps it is only the competitions time zone that changes and we take note accordingly to how it affects our due time. And maybe for that particular day there is a one hour time overlap.

Maybe as a thought for the DLS thing maybe make no change? That way everyone gets screwed eventually? Unless there is no possible way you can post at the same hour once DLS cuts in? I suppose there are some places that don't have DLS so they would get a bonus... but really that would probably create the least headaches.... That or I'm just far too lucky when it comes to time I have to do things most days

If the event no longer had an arbitrary hard deadline for each day, daylight savings wouldn't even be an issue. Similarly, if the themes were announced earlier, the issue would be diminished. Admittedly, those were both thoughts I had on day one about how to make the event less stressful for people stuck in timezones where the EST deadline is frustrating, but this is Gaia! Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet.Anyway, I went with the first love theme. I had a really hard time deciding what to do because I liked a bunch of the themes. I wish I had time to explore more ideas today, but I have to go to bed or I'll end up falling asleep on the freeway at this rate. x_x Ah well! Life on this rock is overrated. Last hope I think I should explain this a little, since the theme is one of those that aren't a specific item... :I I choose the color blue because it's a sad and cold color, but also a calming color. I feel like "last hope" is sad, while "hope" isn't. >.>; And the butterflies that are bright represent the hope, fluttering by. Because I'm lazy I used some brushes for the butterflies. xD On some screens this will probably look too saturated and might have too much contrast... :I Since I know some computers do that to the pictures, anyways, it looks nice on my laptop. razz http://i103.photobucket.com/albums/m159/dark_pillow/038.jpg
