Nefiriam stiffens slightly as the two heroes approach, the purr instantly vanishing. He gives the two women a polite smile though it doesn't reach his eyes, "If Gigi wishes to dance then I do not mind parting company, though I myself would rather not." His gaze darts around the room as he searches for an escape, landing on Lucky after a few moments and some of his tension bleeds away. "I was actually wanting to talk to Lucky for a bit. Have a good evening ladies." Another polite smile and a small bow later he makes his escape.(No offence to Solsi and her friend, but the dragon prefers to avoid hero types for personal reasons. [x] )

Starlight Princess Lucky
"For the first Starlight Royal, yes," she replied. "The second one doesn't necessarily need to have the bloodline, though it is preferred. Traditionally if there are two children born into the family, it is the other sibling that takes the role. I have also heard of the second position going to those who have married into the family, such as the prince's father." She paused, thinking about what the belled girl said. Won't be filled for some time? Certainly not if Astraeus had anything to say about it...She glanced at the prince who was currently mingling with other guests around the dance floor, unaware of her gaze. He would stall the council as long as he could for a replacement. Lucky understood why, but that was foolish on his part. He had responsibilities, and his loyalty to her was going against that. Overseers needed to look out for the stars, keep them aligned, and protect them. That was especially the case now. The redhead frowned, turning her attention back to the other. "Currently there are no others, but that is when special circumstances come into play. Stars are guides, but they also need protection and guidance themselves. It is simply too big of a job for a single person." And even if it wasn't, she thought, if something happened to the single royal, there would not be another to continue guiding the stars until a replacement was born. Cid nodded along, listening intently, though noting a few points of hesitation in the woman's explaination. She hoped she wasn't prying into too private of a matter, especially when this was supposed to be an easy atmosphere. "It must be hard on him then, with no one currently...besides you of course, to confide in on the matters. I only say this because you have prior experience. Though...I assume you have your reasons for leaving the position." She certainly didn't have the feeling of someone who cracked easily under pressure, and if she was more a guard of sorts before becoming this Starlight Royal, it seemed even moreso that outside reasons must have been at play. She lifted her head slightly, turning it in the direction of footsteps heading their way. She knew no one would probably be seeking her attention, so it must be either one of the ladies near her. "I think you might have company..."

Clara was getting the hang of it. That was until she hears Gwen's next sentence. She nearly stumbles, but catches herself just in time. "R-Right. You're that wolf girl. I forgot about that key fact."

"Yes, I suppose it is..." she replied, hoping that the clench she felt in her chest didn't reach her voice. She didn't want to say it, how she didn't leave because she wanted to. She HAD to, and she couldn't argue the reasoning behind it. Rather, she supported fullheartedly, despite how difficult it was for herself and the prince. She turned when the girl spoke of a newcomer, relief quickly filling her eyes when she saw a familiar dragon approaching. She smiled sweetly and waved, "Hi, Nefiriam. Enjoying the party so far?"

Without a word the smaller girl reached out her hand and took Lucky's giving it a small squeeze of understanding. She had heard the note of frustration. She understood duty. And...there was no judgement toward the woman as she smiled softly at her. There was a small twitch around her mouth however, as she just seemed to realize what it was she had done, and released her hold, the gesture and small bow given apologetic in nature as she let the two begin to converse. The former princess might have noted a warmth in her hand afterward, as well as a feeling of...peace, or ease, that seemed to spread through her from the contact.

"Lucky! This is the best party I've been to. Also the only party I've been too and was actually invited, but I digress." The dragon grins as he walks up to the two women, a playful glint in his eye. "Though I think the more important questions here are are you enjoying the party? Has your brother swept every young lady in attendance off their feet? Has anyone noticed that I spiked the punch yet?" He had not, in fact, spiked the punch. Yet.

 Solsi smiled awkwardly as Nef disappeared. So much for trying to be nice. In her efforts it seemed she somehow succeeded in the exact opposite. "Ah...all right. Have a good evening." she muttered as he walked off. OOC: Okay. Too bad they can't be friends.

"That, um... Doesn't make you uncomfortable, does it?" She sounds uncertain and more than a little concerned. It wouldn't be the first time someone has wanted nothing to do with a werewolf after all.

"Please. If I was, this dance would be over with by now," she said with a small smile, trying to reassure her. "I use to have a wolf pup as a friend in my first life. I don't think I should have any trouble with werewolves."

She perks up at that, "Oh! That's good the- wait..." The relief is instantly replaced with confusion, "First life?"

On the verge of being delighted at further purrs, they stop rather abruptly making her stop in the motion. Before she can ask what's up, Solsi's voice floats to her ears. Smiling she turns to greet her. "Hello~ The ball is just lovely, thank you for inviting me." The elf gives a little curtsy then realizes there is another person. Say, isn't this that lady who sort of looked familiar? Momentarily distracted by that thought it takes a moment to catch the compliment. Her cheeks then pink up and she looks down a little but smiles. "Th-thank you. O-oh, i-if you like. I-I don't mind." More reasons to dance? Sure~ Then to her own surprise Nef seems to beat a hasty retreat. "O-oh um, see you later then." She turns and gives an apologetic look to Solsi. "I-I'm sorry, I thought he'd be up for a dance." Suddenly remembers her manners and is a blushing mess all over again. "G-goodness, I'm sorry. Jessie it's nice to meet you. You can call me Gigi~" Getting her name out seems to help calm the flustered elf a bit though a touch of pink can still be seen. "I-if you like, I-I could give you each a turn out on the dance floor."

Invisible to all, the Phantom floated leisurely as she watched the proceedings. Albeit clumsy, Clara and Gwen seemed to be finding their rhythm. What they spoke of, she had little clue. Now that her goal was achieved, her attention was drifting away from the werewolf and witch. Abrupt movement caught her eye and she spotted Nef retreating away from Solsi. It was odd behavior for the dragon. She would have to ask him about it later if she had a chance. Her gaze moved away from him and to the angry man she spotted earlier. He was sitting at a table with another one of Solsi's friends. The glint of silver on the table drew her curiosity.
Translocating to the man's side in a single second, she traced the edges of the blades with her hand. No iron. She assumed all the knives belonged to the man. The Phantom leaned in and peered at him closely. He had come in with the bus drivers, so he must be in their employment. Why he thought to bring knives to a ball was beyond her. Straightening away from him, she considered playing with one of the blades. Just as quickly as the thought had come, she dismissed it. She had promised herself to behave. Growing bored once more, she left the table.
Ignoring the devil to the side, the Phantom approached Kate, Arron, and the mermaid. The mechanic wore a strange, yet handsome uniform. Uncertainty still emanated around him like an aura. One day he would regain his confidence. Floating to the side so she could see Kate clearly, she looked the mage from head to toe. Clara had seemed so grave about their predicament, but the woman before her looked healthy. Then again, time could be cruel and circumstances could change swiftly. Mentally sighing, she faced the mermaid. The girl was as shy and sweet as always. She would have to manifest far from the girl lest she frighten the mermaid too terribly.

"Everything wears out eventually, though finding new things to break is all part of the fun." The woman seems distracted now, blood red eyes focused on the currently invisible phantom as she wanders the room. "This party seems to have attracted some interesting beings."

"Sorry, it's probably not something you want to talk about... So, uh, you like wolves then?" She winces slightly as that last sentence leaves her mouth. If she had a wolf friend then obviously she likes wolves, silly girl. "That's kind of a stupid question isn't it."
