Kojiro went about, carefully and quietly waking everyone in the camp. He would inform Denbe that nothing further happened....to his knowledge. Once everyone was awake, the Scorpion bushi would then go and search the area where the Hare had indicated the apparition had been and searched for tracks.

It involves a somewhat steep climb upwards - one Kojiro is glad he waited for daytime to attempt - but upon reaching the designated area, he saw no sign anyone had ever been up here. The only disturbance to the area he could find is his own.

Kagae wakes and once again disappears off with the bundle from his pack plus a knife.
Then if no one followed him he comes back a few minutes later with the bundle and knife and places them back into his pack. Then he took down his tent.

"Huh." Kojiro took a minute or so to observe the terrain from this vantage point before going down and gathering up his equipment. Today, he reckoned, it would be better to do his best to get the party to where they needed to be, rather than foraging for food.

Denbe didn't scout around for food today. Once he had awoken he decided quickly what he wanted to do. There was no guarantee that whomever it had been was friend and not foe, and if there was something hostile waiting for them, it was better they leave it as little time to spot- or prepare for them- as they could. Taking the Crab aside, he quietly explained the situation, trying to keep clear of the earshot of their shugenja or courtier, keeping his worries between the bushi in the party until he knew they were well founded.
"Someone spotted us last night. I don't know whom, but he was looking at us rather intently, and made to vanish once I spotted him," he said, looking up as Kojiro returned from scouting out the position he'd indicated. "It might be best we move quickly as we can. If you can chart us a route on the map, I'll do what I can to get us across as much of it as possible," the Hare said.
And when they packed and departed, it was exactly what he'd do- he'd wait only long enough for Kagae's instructions on which paths to take, or direction to forge, and where the paths seemed to end or a less direct route seemed necessary, the Hare would find a way to get them across the terrain. He poured everything into the effort- and did his best to keep the party steadily moving over any terrain as if they had a path laid out for them, following the best directions as the Crab specified.
And the whole time, he kept nervously energized- always glancing out the corner of his eye as if he was expecting something to go wrong.
Mostly, he kept seeing that fox staring though.

Kojiro did likewise. Hopefully his time as a scout in the War of Spirits would aid him in this. Again, the trusty kusari-gama aided Kojiro's progress. The Scorpion either used the kama portion to hack away at some undergrowth, or the chain portion to help him get a better foothold in some areas.
Kojiro noted that Denbe seemed rather distracted by the little white fox and held that information for future reference. Perhaps the man had a fear of the small critters. It was only natural....if it was symbolic, perhaps Kojiro could find a way to involve the Kitsune somehow.

As much as Miyako knew that they needed to get this done quickly, she was ever so slightly thankful that they weren't pushing themselves as much. But she played with Fubuki and tried to keep her spirits up, composing a letter to Kuni Raicho about what had happened mentally.

Day 3 Results:
Kagae would take the lead for day three, trying to use his knowledge of the terrain (mostly from hearsay) and his attempts as navigating a long distance via a map, with others trying to support. Though, it seemed a lot easier in theory than in practice, finding that the map was handy for general landmarks, but the scale was too large for the finer details that he tried to navigate by.
Denbe would try to surge ahead when he can to scout for danger and possible quicker routes for everyone to take, though he tended to veer a little too off course, causing an excursion to retrieve the wayward Hare, and some extra time to double back from a shortcut he was sure wasn't a dead-end.
Whereas the Ujina was having an off-day, Kojiro was spot-on with his fortunes today. He managed to find a short cave system that cut several hours off their journey.
Masuyo would press on, dedicated to finishing this escorting journey. Her stalwart determination made for a fine example and steady pace for everyone to march by.
Miyako plays the courtier card! Not fair, you say? You'll understand when you find yourselves in a court setting and she has to bail you out.
As you guys finish your mid-day break and continue on the course, you feel like you are making good time, though Kojiro notices first that the sun seems to be setting in the east. It took probably a minute to sink in, but you all had actually gotten turned around at some point, and were heading southward. Turning around, you surged forward to cover the lost time by this detour, but it didn't seem enough to make this day as exceptional as it could have been.
The group travels 15 miles, consistent with yesterday's general pace, but probably with lower spirits. A total of 70 miles have been traveled.
Everyone only needs to eat 1 days' worth of rations for today.
Denbe and Kojiro went without food yesterday, so if they do not eat today, they begin suffering penalties.
Towards the end of the day's journey...
According to Kagae's map, you guys are at the base of the peak of one mountain that is especially important, Hekireki Take. As you all are discussing at what point you will set up camp within the next quarter hour, you find a stone shrine facing eastward, apparently forgotten. There are a few prayer strips that hung from the outside, but they have long since disintegrated due to exposure to the elements.

Miyako spent a good part of the evening in quite good spirits, despite the lack of distance traveled. Once they arrived and it was realized exactly how badly they'd done that day, she couldn't resist a snide remark, "I guess -almost knowing- how to use a map isn't as good as a Hiruma either...." And with that said, went to prepare a portion of food for both herself and Kojiro seeing as she had noticed him not eating the day before and wanted to make sure that her yojimbo took care of himself so he could take care of her.

Kojiro almost wished he wasn't wearing his mempo right now, so that the others could see his face darkened by the scowl he was wearing beneath the mask provided by his armor.
The Bayushi set up his tent in a comfortable place, figuring that Miyako would be in it one maru after he left it. He couldn't really blame her. The day had been tough and this wasn't really the sort of thing they expected courtiers to go through. Kojiro was fairly certain Miya-chan's father would have more than a few words for him if he even knew half of the things the little Shosuro went through during this journey.
As he had finally time to eat, Kojiro was surprised to find Miyako at the front of his tent with a small dinner prepared for them. The Scorpion was flabbergasted by this. "I....er...You....." Kojiro stammered. After a few seconds, he composed himself and thanked Miyako for her thoughtfulness. The Scorpion then sat down and ate with her and would offer snacks to Fubuki if the white furred fox came within close distance.
Kojiro would talk pleasantly with Miyako for as long as she wished it. If the subject of watches were brought up at any time, the Scorpion would claim the first. Eventually, the Bayushi would excuse himself to make devotions to his Yogo ancestor.

Having munched on his travelling rations over the course of the day, Denbe was not greatly concerned with eating once they stopped, instead just continuing to snack while they worked, putting up his tent, until something caught the bushi's eye.
Denbe was curious about the shrine. Looking it over, he'd try and see if he recognized much of anything about it, what it's intended uses were, or maybe if he'd heard of similar ones. Once he puzzled out what it was... or failed to... unless it was something inappropriate for the act, he'd sit down to offer a prayer to his ancestors to watch over him.
Now seemed about the most obvious it'd ever be he'd need it besides the dusk of a battle.

@ Theology Roll:
From the outside, Denbe can see a statue of Osano-wo, somewhat worn and damaged from untold centuries, resting in the middle of the tiny shrine.
The chamber itself was tiny, and probably could only fit one person comfortably in it at a time if people wished to utilize the shrine, either to speak with their ancestors, the kami, or the fortune of fire and thunder himself.
