Tam chuckles sourly. "Leave it to you to enlist a priest of the Morning Lord in yer devious schemes."

**the clown was 13 or 14 yrs. old... this was a small traveling circus... only one ring... and they had an accident in the performance... the trapeze artist fell and had to be airlifted out, but the rest of the show was not too bad... fortunately we had two emt's in the audience...**
Tam crouches down and rubs the cub's belly with a grin. "Well, I guess I can forgive ye... this time.." His voice carries a clear warning, informing the cat he has crossed the line into dangerous territory. Marriage is something Talesian has no desire to contemplate.

Tam's resultant chuckle is tinged with a touch of bitterness as he plays with the cub. It isn't that he is angry or anything and he really is enjoying Kerobian's reaction to his affections. He is just feeling rather lonely. Kero's prank has touched a nerve he had thought cauterized.

Love you, Sira...

Tam gives him a fierce hug back and smiles broadly. "It's ok, kiddo... I'll live... and I love you, too... " He picks the cub up and carries him back to the cottage. "I wish I knew why I've been so empty of late, Taro... but it has nothing to do with you. You have been such a solid anchor for me in my life... even if ye tend to drive me to distraction."

*Kero decides to take this to heart, and proceeds to point out distractions to Tam all along the road home*
There's a tree...and a falling leaf....and a stream...and we're over a vein of iron...and that granite...

Tam begins to laugh at the cub's antics and by the time they arrive at the cottage, his mood is considerably better. He smiles and lets them in, asking the cub how his day went at the temple. To Kero's surprise, the house smells of a rich stew and fresh bread. It seems the bard has kept himself busy while he was away.

*Happy and content, Kero and Tam share a delicious supper...then play some games...finally, Kero goes to bed...but sleeps a little too solidly...waking about five minutes before the service begins....he rushes to the temple...getting there about five minutes after it starts...and tries to figure a way to surreptitiously enter, so as not to disturb everyone, when he hears footsteps behind him*

It is Tam, who has followed him to the temple, wondering why the cub was so frantic to get there. He motions for the cub to join him off in a small alcove, where benches are positioned in such a way that those who use them can see what is going on.
"Are you supposed to play..." hisses Tam in a soft whisper.

Tam shakes his head and sighs... "Follow me..." he hisses once more and leads the cub up a narrow spiral stairs not far from the alcove. There he taps an elderly monk on the shoulder and smiles, holding out his hand. The man takes one look at Talesian and grins with relief, instantly handing him the crystal flute that Mica had shown Kero the day before.
"At least we weren't too late..." whispers Tam walking over to the edge of the rail and motioning Kero to his side.
It is rather early... so early the light is still twixt twilight and dark outside, but already it is growing brighter by the minute. Tam points to the great stained glass window that was set into the wall not far from them. "Watch the window... do you see the lower rose colored panel in it? When it begin to glow you will need to start playing that first piece I taught you..." He waits for about five more minutes then lifts the pipe to his lips. The music is so piercingly clear, like a bird song on the wings of the dawn... almost, if Kero didn't know better, he would have thought that Tam was calling the sun up from the depths.

*Moved by the sunrise....and the beaty of Tam's playing....Kero can't help himself, he places his own pipe to his lips, playing with Tam...harmonizing the song....*
