Scrooge McDuck is best known from Ducktales. He's Huey, Dewey, and Louey(sp?)'s uncle, therefore he's probably Donald Duck's brother or brother in law. He's rich, pretty much a Scrooge.

It's a pretty cool book...
Scrooge McDuck was pretty much created by Carl Barks in the 40s and 50s... a younger illustrator (he's now in his 60s, I'd imagine) named Don Rosa collected bits and fragments of stories that Barks used as filler for Scrooge's past, and created a "Life and Times Of..." that was excellent. He's created this NEW book to fill in and flesh out that history some more. (The books were all originally done for the Donald Duck and/or Uncle Scrooge comics in Europe as individual issues, and some have been reprinted here... but all are collected in these books)
By the way... DuckTales, which I also love, pretty liberally ripped off the Barks stories, substituting Launchpad for Donald in most cases (and I still haven't figured out *why*), and adding Webigail and Mrs. Beakley into the mix (and again, other than the fact it was rather male, er, male *duck* heavy, I don't know the8ir reasononing).
...Too much information? ^_^

Scrooge is actually Donald's great-uncle... and Huey, Dewey, and Louie's great-great uncle. Donald's grandmother is Scrooge's sister Hortense.
The comics Scrooge is a lot more ...nuanced... than the screen versions of him; he *is* a skinflint, but has his reasons, and, crusted though it may be, actually a fairly generous heart.

*Is amazed by aretoo's vast knowledge of Duck known as Scrooge* Wow. Well, you sure do learn something new everyday! ^__^
I only ever watched the cartoons as a child, so I can barely remember them. I was never a big fan of the duck. I liked Goofy and Pluto, etc. mrgreen
Edit: Hallo Sanzo!
