Champhy shakes her head. "Well the spit idea seems to be working good for now. The dog is a bit much though. Not sure why he had to bring in one so big. The thing ate half a roast earlier before I could get it away from him. Nothing he's done yet seems to have done any lasting harm. Maybe we should wait him out a bit. I've never seen him get fired up like this before. He usually doesn't give a damn."

"What did you do to Averus... switch him back... quick... Uncle Kero, please. Man, he's gonna be pissed if you leave him like that." says Keva dropping down by the dog. "Veru... ye ok?"

Keva holds up his hands defensively. "It was his idea..." he moans backing away. "He asked me to do it. We found this spell in the library, see and it looked so easy...." He gives a startled "Eeep..." then turns tail and runs away.

Keva's shoulders sag at the tone of Kerobian's voice. "Haven't ye ever experimented Uncle?" he asks lamely. It was in this primer, all of it was so simple and clearly put, a baby could do it. And I saw Tam's notes in the margin, so I knew he's done it. And heck if he has It couldn't have been all that nasty or hard."

Keva's eyes go wide and he begins to back away. "I didn't mean to hurt him. Really I didn't. He's my friend! And he changes shape all the time. All I did is give him a new one... really! He said he could control it himself!" stammers the kitsune in desperation.

To this Keva has no response. He simply stands there with his head hanging looking as if he is ready to burst into tears.

Champhy comes over and touches Kerobian's arm. "Knowing me boy, he probably talked the young lord into this, mage. He'd do anything to find a reason to get into the kitchen, so's he could sneak a snack or two. Bet he didn't expect me to chain him up, he didn't." She sighs and glares at the young water horse who is standing behind them doing his best imitation of a brink on the wall."

Champhy glares back at Averus and shrugs. "I know nothing about magic, mage, only that which comes to me naturally, so I have no idea as to what is safe and what is not. I truly believe that the boys may not be all that well versed in the matter themselves. I do know the Lady always said that Keva's talents sat elsewhere and she stopped his magic tutoring ages ago, while he was quite young. Mayhaps she stopped too soon. Could it be that the lad is merely a late bloomer? If so, I'd say throw them both back into the library and make them work their brains until they turn to mush. Mayhaps they'll at least discover the reasons they should not be doing the things they've done. Though I'll be honest, the dog wheel wasn't a half bad idea... just done for all the wrong reasons."
