Ai rolls her eyes and refuses to be baited. "Where's your amulet? I swear the older ye are the more ye misplace the dang thing. There was a time when ye wore it 24/7, around the clock, everyday, no matter the season..."

Ai ignores him. Sitting on a hot bed of coals is definitely on the black list of her to do list. She'd be so darn sick if she did. Not to mention what it would do to her fur.

To find that supper is pretty much underway.

Ai looks at him and shakes her head. "Mike at the pie stand sent down a basket of pies so yer sira wouldn't have to cook tonight and I threw some potatoes into the stove to bake right after ye got here. I'm definitley undersized for this kitchen, but I do know what to do. Still iffin ye can think of anything else to stretch out the meal, please by all means do so. And Kero, I want you to go down to see Mike when it's safe... thank him for the pies and smooth that over... got it? Tell him the truth iffin ye have to, though if you can get around it, I'd appreciate it... just don't have him telling the entire village I'm in bed ill, got it... If you do need to tell him the truth, swear him to secrecy by all means."

Ai sighs as she places a plate on the table. At least the commonly used dishes were where she could reach them since they had had Salunia helping out in the kitchen for some time and had moved things down to her level. "Though with my luck, he's already told half the market."

She pauses for a moment and scratches her ear. "I guess... you could tell him that Tam is gone for a time and since you and I were alone, you didn't feel safe telling him the truth. It's not exactly a lie, so you should be safe telling him that. Tam is gone... for the moment anyway... and I'm not so sure when he'll get back... But I don't like even going that far out on a limb right now... I might be stuck like this for a long time... Maybe... maybe it's time the town really knows the truth... I... I just don't know... Master Talesian was a bit eccentric and known to have some strange abilities... it might not upset people as much as we feared it might... as for Lady Ai..." she sighs and shakes her head. "I'd even welcome her right now... I had to run from a pack of dogs, avoid the Grayson twins who wanted to take me home as a pet, and dodge someone's cart on the road outside of town... This size is... well handicapped."

She hisses and spits at him in true cat style. "Put me down! I'm not a cub! I'm a full grown lion... really I am..."

She nuzzles him fondly and shakes her head. "Look who's talking... tell ye what... everything is warming on the stove in that dutch oven... Once the potatoes were done I added them to the pot to keep warm. Why don't you get dinner together and I'll go check on our house guest. Poor kid... pulled form a sick bed and sent running for safety... did anyone even think to tell him why. Oh... and a word of warning... Andy has True sight... that's one talent I've never felt comfortable with... I have it of course.. all angels do... but it's both a blessing a curse."

Ai shakes her head. "No... it's more of a physical thing than anything... Sort of a 'once I see it I know what it is' kind of thing. He knew me right off by my aura, which he has experienced since our arrival here. So no... he doesn't know who or what you are... but should you attempt to throw an illusion at him, it won't necessarily work... Depending on how strong he is, he will either see it as a hazy image overlaying the true, or not at all... In other words. He see you as a cat, because... well, you are a cat... a rather large cat, with some serious claws and teeth, but that is what you are... He knows me as this warm glowy aural thing... called me Master Talesian and said he wouldn't tell anyone iffin I was trying to keep it a secret." Ai rolls her eyes. "I'm really glad he doesn't go about talking about it."

"Anyway... you do as I asked.. finish getting dinner on the table, okay? And I'll go get him up, iffin he feels up to it. If not, we can carry a tray into him. He was certainly pale. I could have sworn he was well a few days ago. He must be one of those who caught it on the tail in of things." says Ai heading for the kitchen door. "And Kero, please... don't go down into the stores unless you absolutely have to. This thing with the book scares me. The emptiness of the void would call to that infernal thing even more so than I, regardless of what Shar said. I might be a tasty tidbit for it, and a coup no doubt, but you are walking around with this enormous red and white target plastered all over yer aura..."
