I don't hate it per say. When I search through fics and preggers is apart of the plot I tend to skip over it.
However, if the characters are not human (nor animal cause I won't read that) but alien or mutant, then it could make for an interesting and sometimes sweet plot. Xeno characters are fun because you can pull away from human anatomy and create your own functions mrgreen I've written stories in the same context. Making the "mommy" as male as possible I made it so in order to deliver the baby, he had to do a cesarean section (on himself, which makes for crazy circumstances and alot of blood and blacking out for the poor guy--he hid himself away for a few months since he didn't want anyone to know ninja ).
I have to complain about the way some stories are written around preggos. Granted the rectum and sphincter can stretch/recover WAY BETTER than v****a walls, giving birth to a baby out your a** doesn't seem as appealing. It's like taking a poop but it lives gonk

I am against m-preg to the maxx. If the summary even says m-preg, I won't read it. I just think its kind of sick and c'mon its two gay DUDES, doesn't that kind of defeat the purpose of two guys if icky children come along.

I've only read one that I liked, and it kind of was the point and it kind of wasn't. It was really dark and twisted and the "mother" was being forced to carry the child and the whole mpreg thing was a form of torture the impregnator was inflicting on the impregnated guy.

I don't like it but I don't really hate it either. I'll read an mpreg story if the plot is interesting, but otherwise...

Myrg. I'm not fond of it. Kids kind of ruin any relationship though stare I did read this one where this guy got preggers and had tiger cubs. It was kind of cute once you got past the fact that the guy was pregnant with non-human life forms. Never again, I think.

Really, it depends on the situation. Especially if they can somehow explain it so that it makes some kind of sense. Not "OMG I totally and randomly got pregnant! But I'm a man! SQUEEE!!!"

The only mpreg I enjoy is the fact that near is L and Light's manchild.

to me it makes no sense.. I mean.. You know yaoi couples are believable due to the fact there are gay people everywhere. But you never see a pregnant man walking around with his boyfriend

I've read one or two that I liked, but like anything it completely depends on how the story is written, how believable it is (obviously taking the setting into account).
I find though, that a lot of mpregs are done poorly. People like the idea but don't (or don't know how to) develop it. The story gets half done, or finished and half-assed. I don't mid the idea, but I hate the trend if that makes sense. People like the idea, want to write one, but have no idea what to do with it. So they write the bare minimum to get the 'plot' out and don't focus on writing a good story.
of course that can be said for any trend in fanfiction.
