It seems the general consensus is to leave the Unicorns to their unicorning. Unicorns gonna unicorn, m i rite?
The Jade Wardens + Masuyo & co. make their way for a few more miles before the sun disappears over the western horizon, making it too hazardous to travel.
The rest of the 5 miles go without incident. Time to set up camp! Who's doing what, and give me those Perception/Investigation (Notice) for those who decide to keep watch! I think I've gotten everyone's fooding decisions except for Masuyo.

Denbe would help the others set up camp, trying to avoid fires- they might have gone five miles more, but just in case those bushi were hoping for a fight, it would be better not to draw their attention. It had grown colder, but he had a blanket, and would be more than happy to lend that and his tent to anyone else during his shift on watch.
On which note- he'd let Kojiro take the final watch this night, and if Masuyo decided she'd go first, he would start by meditating, trying to clear and focus his mind, before getting what rest there was time for until his shift began.

Foiled yet again, the Hare would sit for his watch dutifully, watching for any signs of danger or suspicious movement nearby.

Kojiro would set up his tent for Miyako in their campground and look for a nice, decent patch to rest in as the group settled down for the night. He'd spend his off time chatting with those who would chat with him, and resting up for his shift. When it came time for him, he'd do his utmost and stayed alert.

Kagae would set up his tent and then walk off with a bundle out of sight. About five minutes later he comes back with the bundle and places it back into his pack.

As suggested, Masuyo would take first watch, but only because the group was down one bushi... who seemed to have wandered off on his own as soon as they settled. Normally she was used to secretive behavior, as both a Dragon and especially among the Tamori... but Shiro Tamori was not home to the world's foulest creatures. Things that could wear a man's skin or corrupt his soul. No, out here everything was suspicious. She could only marvel at how the Crab survived as they did (as gruff as they were, in any case). She also cursed the strict secrecy between schools. That Earth spell her fellow Shugenja had been throwing around suddenly seemed exponentially useful out here.
All these thoughts and more as she passed her watch, curled up with blanket and fox.
...and apparently these thoughts left her hyper-attentive. eek

Kitsuki Masuyo Ujina Denbe Bayushi Kojiro
Masuyo, your watch passes without incident.
Denbe, you are on second watch, and have been for close to an hour now. Everyone is sleeping soundly, their bundled blankets enough to keep them warm, so that fire was unnecessary.
Though, on an impulse or a feeling you couldn't shake, you look off in one direction, and you see a person watching your group. The person is around a thousand feet away, and on a higher elevation than all of you, crouched behind a small boulder. The person is very pale skinned, causing them to almost glow in the moonlight. They are also bald, though you cannot see their garments or any identifying markers.

Denbe blinked.
He couldn't see much, but the pale, bald head. So unless there was an order of monks that spent time in these mountains...
The Hare didn't move much, but quietly put his hand on his katana's hilt, drawing a small line in the dirt with his toe. And after a while staring, reminded himself to glance in other directions as well.
After all, how easy would it be to ambush them if he spent all night staring at one man?

When Denbe stood up and turned his gaze elsewhere, he would hear the distant rustling of pebbles shifting. If he returned his gaze to the same spot, the person would be gone.

Denbe would be on guard the rest of the night, but didn't let it spook him TOO badly.
When Kojiro got up, he'd warn him about the man- and the rest, he'd leave until they rose in the morning. If they were lucky, perhaps it was just a monk.

Kojiro woke up groggily from his rest and listened to Denbe's report of the night shift. "Right.....it seems like we're near what we're looking for. When more of us are awake in the morning, we'll have to see if we can't find any tracks or something like that. I don't think we should leave the campground undefended."
With that, Kojiro would take his watch.
