[Amberpaw merely listened as everyone scolded Briskpaw for her own fault in dragging him out there in the first place. She was going to have to help him. Her own sister and Featherheart were easily picking on Briskpaw, leaving him to only sit there without any way to reply to their words. That was a first. Usually Briskpaw's anger and temper got to him and he'd snap. It was weird seeing this soft side of Briskpaw, but in a way, she sort of liked it.]
'M-my fault.. I-it was my f-fault."[She whispered weakly, shaking from the intense pain.]"Briskpaw was t-the one wh-who wanted to go back. A-and I-I said no."[She continued on, trying to make the others understand it was her own fault for taking Briskpaw out there. The injured she-cat tried to reach out to Briskpaw by moving her paw, but screeched as soon as she tried.]
[Something was obviously wrong with that leg. Just by flinching her front leg, Amberpaw was in more pain then before. It was like the pain was pulsing through her. She wailed a little, but began to quiet down as the pain decreased.]

Dustpaw StormClan----Apprentice "A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort." ~Herm Albright "Attitudes are contagious. Are yours worth catching?" ~Dennis and Wendy Mannering "Wherever you go, no matter what the weather, always bring your own sunshine." ~Anthony J. D'Angelo
Dustpaw watched his mentor as she padded over to Amberpaw, streaking after her, belly on the ground, the patchy apprentice crept over to his wounded fellow apprentice. He gently pushed his nose into her fur, licking the top of her head. Fear still held fast to him, but it was fear for his fellow apprentice, even though he didn't know her well. hearing her breathy words, he let out a shaky purr, still licking her head, he didn't know why. He stopped licking her head and ear, pushing his nose into her fur, he mewed, "I'll let Briskpaw know it isn't his fault."
Rising slightly to his paws, he still slunk around, belly close to the ground and fear haunting his blue eyes. Joining Briskpaw, he touched the other apprentice on the shoulder with his tail tip. Swiftly licking the other apprentice's cheek, he mewed, "Amberpaw says it isn't your fault." He crouched next to the other apprentice he didn't know well. Wishing there was something more he could do. He flinched at Amberpaw's pain and ducked his head. "She'll be alright," he reassured Briskpaw, not sure if he really believed it himself.
Rising, unsurely, Dustpaw looked back at Featherheart. She was a great mentor, but he didn't like how she had been so hard on Briskpaw, Briskpaw's sister had just been injured, he was in no position to be lectured.
Lightly pushing his nose into Briskpaw's shoulder fur, Dustpaw quickly rejoined Featherheart beside Amberpaw and crouched down, licking the injured apprentice's ear in an effort to comfort her.

Burrpelt anxiously kneaded the ground. His ears were flattened against his head, the fur on his tail rising from the sudden stress of worry. He managed to calm himself down once other apprentices came over to express their worry. He wished one of the medicine cats would come help soon. How did this happen? How in Starclan's name did Briskpaw and Amberpaw get stuck in it? The tom blinked as Amberpaw's sister, Peachpaw came over, fussing over her sister like any sibling would. He gazed down at her with gentle eyes, though his worry and insecurity showed as well. "I don't know, Peachpaw. Starclan will help her though," he murmured to the apprentice. So much for taking his apprentice on the hunting patrol. Had the others left already? Oh, no. Featherheart was coming over here.
Burrpelt was surprised when Peachpaw suddenly rounded on Briskpaw. He understood she was upset, but there was no reason to blame him. "That's enough," he said sternly to Peachpaw. Though it seemed he wouldn't be handling this on his own. Featherheart came over, scolding the apprentices for their behaviour. She even beat him to lecturing his own son. The tom blinked, staring at the ginger she-cat in surprise. Where had that come from? She was usually so soft spoken. As a matter of fact, he was rather amused at her reaction.
His ears perked as he heard Amberpaw's voice, though it sounded pained and he wished she wouldn't talk. It was too much energy. He couldn't help but jump and feel his fur rise at Amberpaw's screeches of pain. Alright. His mood was officially changed. "Let's give Amberpaw some space, everyone. Let's not crowd her," he said after a moment. "Let her breathe." He figured Peachpaw and Briskpaw would object, but he wouldn't have it. They just needed to step back a little; let some air in.
"Briskpaw, come here please," he said, quietly calling his son. He just wanted to talk to him, make sure he really was okay. If anything, Briskpaw could be in shock from the event. And his worry for Amberpaw was plainly clear to see. Again, he expected some form of rejection from the apprentice, but Burrpelt wasn't sitting that far away from Amberpaw. He was close enough to act if he needed to, but wasn't as close as everyone else. At least Briskpaw would still be able to watch her.

Moments after, Dawnsky was padding alongside him carrying a squirming Glimmerkit. He only stared ahead while trying to keep a firm grip on Blizzardpaw as the tremors progressed. He followed Thunderflight down to the lakeshore, leaning heavily forward with the weight between his jaws. Ivorymoon couldn’t help but feel sympathetic towards his apprentice, despite the hassle he was being as of now. The apprentice didn’t know what was going on and acting likewise. However…if he kept this up, Ivorymoon wondered how he’d be able to train his apprentice properly…
The seemingly endless quaking finally began to subside as they closed in on the lakeshore. He dropped Blizzardpaw next to Dawnsky and Glimmerpaw, looking the other way. The black and white apprentice immediately flattened himself on the ground, small claws gripping the earth as if his life depended on it. At least he has an idea of what a hunter’s crouch is… Ivorymoon thought as he looked the other way.
His ears perked up at the sound of Silverstar’s call and watched as warriors and apprentices already began to gather for their separate leavings. His whiskers twitched uneasily at the thought of patrolling with Thunderflight. She was one whom he could not fully put his trust into, one he questioned along with his brother Ebonysun… But orders were orders, no matter who the cats were. He’d dare not hesitate if it was for the clan’s sake. Collecting his thoughts and breathing out his further doubts, Ivorymoon padded slowly towards the group. He was the last to join the patrol and fell in behind Skywhiker, staring at the ground.
The familiar forests sounds were silent, only the sound of their own pawsteps and his clanmate’s chatter breaking the stillness. He allowed his mind to wander to the ruffled scenery around them, keeping an attentive eye on anything that could mean danger…or perhaps, distracting himself from his own personal thoughts.
*** Blizzardpaw was unaware that the ground had stopped trembling and they had finally stopped. It was not until he felt himself being dropped on the ground did he finally unveil his paws from his face and opened his eyes. He was met with a new sight that reflected brilliantly off honey-gold hues. “Ooooo…” He sighed in awe, slowly getting to his shaky paws. Ivorymoon had disappeared again, leaving him with Dawnsky and Glimmerpaw. Blizzardpaw padded curiously to the edge of the lakeshore, staring at his own confused reflection on the water. So clear…so clean… Blizzardpaw raised his paw and dabbed it into the water, immediately feeling a cold chill travel up his spine and shake his busy tail. With a squeal of surprise he jumped back and stood in a protective crouch, putting his cold paw under his chest fur. This reminded him of the stories Momma would tell him about the other clans. Especially the one that hunted in water instead of land…how creepy! It made him wonder how they could stand the cold tingly sensation that numbed the paws!
But at the same time he felt excited about his new little discovery. He looked around quickly, spotting Glimmerpaw. “H-Hey Glimmerpaw!” He mewed excitedly, shaking his damp paw. “You got to come see the lake shore with me!” Suddenly recalling his little experience he warned. “Just be careful about sticking your paw in…its really cold!"

[Briskpaw sat there silently as both Featherheart and Peachpaw placed blame on him for Amberpaw's severe injures. I mean, is sort of was his fault. If he hadn't slipped from the hill and into the landslide, Amberpaw wouldn't have had to rescue him. Briskpaw simply listened to the warriors words without expression, until Amberpaw began speaking.]
[She was saying it was her fault now. Briskpaw sighed, and was about to lecture her on how it wasn't her fault at all, before the she-cat began screeching as she attempted to stretch out her foreleg. Something was wrong with it, wasn't it? Briskpaw waited for her screeching to settle down, and then he rasped his tongue against her head.]
"Shh, shh. Amberpaw, it's not you're fault at all. Now please, rest. Don't talk or move. Moonblaze will be here very soon. Try to go back to sleep."[He murmured in her ear, trying to comfort her the best he could. I mean, it was the least he could do. Amberpaw shut her eyes once again, and calmed down. The only motion she made was when her chest would rise and fall at her shallow breaths, and even then she'd wince in pain. Backing up at his fathers command, a fellow apprentice, Dustpaw, came along and told him what Amberpaw said. Well obviously he knew, since he was literally next to Amberpaw. Briskpaw decided to shake it off before he would say something, and nodded. THe apprentices words were slightly comforting. That he was telling him she'd be alright. Maybe she would be alright, and her wounds would heal up perfectly. And then after that she'd go back to being that bouncy she-cat who loved him. But this time, instead of rejecting her, Briskpaw would actually return the feelings.]
"Briskpaw, come here please,"
[His father called for him. For a moment, Briskpaw hesitated. He was torn between going to his father's side or staying with Amberpaw and Dustpaw. However, after realizing she was safe in camp with warriors to watch her, and not out at the sight of the landslide, he left Dustpaw and Amberpaw's side, and went over to his father. Before he really settled down, the brown tabby made sure Amberpaw was in his sight.]
"I'm not hurt, if that's what you were going to say."[He said immediately before his father could even say anything.]

Dustpaw stayed crouched beside Amberpaw. He glanced up at Peachpaw, but said nothing. Silently stressing that once this was all over he would be sure to get to know the three apprentices better. He brushed his bushy tail across the ground and swept it over the injured apprentice's shoulder. "The medicine cat is coming and then everything is going to be okay," he reassured her. "You're going to be okay," he mewed, his throat tight. A feel a desperation was knotting his stomach.
He turned his attention from Amberpaw to Burrpelt. He had no idea what the warrior was feeling towards his kits, but it hadn't been Briskpaw's fault! The patchy apprentice pricked his ears, wanting to hear what the warrior was going to say, he would leap to his fellow apprentice's defense if need be!
Looking up at Featherheart, Dustpaw stretched his paw out towards her. All traces of his bouncy personality had vanished from his sapphire eyes. He was looking from reassurance from the ginger she-cat, praying to StarClan that they wouldn't take Amberpaw, she was to young to die!
His faith in StarClan protecting the clans was badly shaken from what had happened here, but that didn't mean that they would take a (potential?) friend away. Even if the apprentices were close, that didn't mean that he didn't care about the others. It also meant that just because he liked to sometimes tease and annoy the warriors, it didn't mean that he didn't fear for and care for his clan mates!

Burrpelt was patient with Briskpaw's hesitancy, though was glad he wasn't arguing against his request. He flicked his ears as Briskpaw eventually came around, settling himself near him while still being able to look at Amberpaw.
"I'm not hurt, if that's what you were going to say."
Burrpelt gave a low chuckle. "Can you blame me for worrying?" he asked gently, bending down and swiftly rasping his tounge over Briskpaw's ear. It was part of being a father; perhaps Briskpaw would realize that one day on his own. Even though the circumstances right now weren't the best, and he was still worried for his apprentice, Burrpelt was glad that at least Briskpaw was okay. It was just less worry on his part.
"And don't worry, I believe you," he continued, a half amused light in his eyes. Though he got a little more serious as the next question came up. "Though, I still can't help but wonder, Briskpaw...how did this happen? Why did you and Amberpaw leave camp?" he asked. Already he had heard a summary of the story, but he wanted to hear it from Briskpaw. He wanted to hear the entire story from his view. He wasn't blaming anyone -- Burrpelt wasn't quick to judge in these matters.Ember Robinwood Dustpaw (since he's eavesdropping anyways) x3

[Briskpaw softly chuckled, but continued to glance at Amberpaw. If she moved, he'd go straight to her side. His dad began to question him. Yay, Briskpaw got to remember all that happened while he was out with Amberpaw. Sighing, he began the story.]
"It's kinda long, you you better have the time to listen."[He said in a sarcastic tone.] "So Amberpaw took me out for a hunt since it would be my first hunt as an apprentice. And I wasn't really wanting to go, so she ended up forcing me to. And while we were hunting, I was telling her that we had to go back, but she said we had to catch something. And then I saw a squirrel, ran after it, and then it saw me and ran off. Then the earthquake started. And at the time I was under this tree, and it collapsed. It almost hit me, until Amberpaw dove under and shoved me out of the way. That time, she was safe."[He said, taking a deep breath. After a few moments, he continued.]
"So after that, we ran around, trying to find a safe spot. And then we found this hill. And we got onto it, and thought we were safe, until a landslide formed underneath my paws. I almost got sucked into it, until Amberpaw saved me again. And once I was back up, she fell down herself. So I ran down to get her and then I found her and she was all like, injured. And I think at that time she thought she was a goner because she said, 'I love you, Briskpaw.".[He said, choking a bit at the memories. He swallowed the bile forming in the throat.]
"And that makes me feel even worse, because she used to be with me everyday all happy and she loved me. And all that time, I yelled at her. And now I'm regretting doing that, Dad. She.. She saved my life."[He admitted, looking at her white paws.]
"And I think.. I think I love her, too."{He murmured.]

She couldn't hear what they were saying, but she enjoyed seeing father and son together; and in seeing them side by side, the she-cat realized how much Briskpaw looked like his father. Featherheart blinked in surprise when Briskpaw looked down at his paws, as far as she knew he wasn't the shy type. But there he was, looking down at his paws like a shy one.
Sitting there, a thought hit her. They were meant to lead a hunting patrol. Featherheart stood up. "Burrpelt, you stay here with Amberpaw. Whisperblade and I will take care of the hunting patrol. Between the two of us, and our apprentices. We're bound to find something the earthquake hasn't shooed off." She meowed, motioning for Dustpaw with her tail. "Dustpaw, you can check up on her later. Dustpaw rose to his paws, brushing his tail across Amberpaw's shoulder in farewell. He padded to Featherheart's side. Flicking his bushy tail, the patchy apprentice tried to remember, but he wasn't sure who Whisperblade's apprentice was. He looked up at Featherheart, "I don't remember," he admitted, though he knew he should remember, the ceremony hadn't been that long ago.
He cast a glance over at Burrpelt and Briskpaw, overhearing what Burrpelt had said to his son, the older apprentice guessed that he wouldn't have to intervene to keep his fellow apprentice out of trouble. The prospect of a hunt lightened his mood a little bit and brought a bit of the glow back to his blue eyes. "Featherheart, is it okay if what I catch I bring back for Amberpaw?" He asked hopefully, looking back over his shoulder at the wounded apprentice and back at the ginger she-cat.
His recent hunts hadn't been going very well, but now he had another chance, he would bring something back. There wasn't likely going to be much left over from the earthquake, but that didn't mean he would give up! His almost constantly in motion (no matter how slow) tail tip flicked back and forth. And that was his biggest frustration in hunting! His tail seemed to have a mind of it's own and would often make the leaves rustle, that was one thing that he still hadn't learned to control after moons of training.

Everyone was still pretty excited due to the recent earthquake. The water had finally calmed down; waves now lapped gently on the sandy shore of the lake. Moonblaze and Fadinghorizon had gathered the small amount of herbs they still had in a pile that was far enough from the water so that the waves wouldn't sweep them away.
My hair rose as I realized something was wrong. The warriors had wide eyes and everyone was murmuring in hushed voices. I looked around, flicking my ears uncertainly. That's when I saw her.
I gasped, my tail fluffing out in horror. Amberpaw lay moaning near the two medicine cats, and the Clan was abuzz with worry. "Amberpaw!" I exclaimed, about to rush to her side. Then I remembered my dying companion. I glanced at Delgue before returning my attention to the two medicine cats who were now staring at the strange rogue. Any cat could've smelled the wild scent on him across the lake... The rogue's fur was thick with blood. I had to act quickly. "Sorry to add to your troubles," I sighed, "But I came across this rogue in the Oak Tree Clearing. He got in a scrap with a fox who was uprooted from its burrow, probably from the earthquake, and he's in a bad condition. It's likely he's going to die soon...is there any way you can treat him...?"
I stared down at the meager herb supply in disappointment. Would helping this rogue put the Clan in danger of running out of healing herbs? I began to doubt my decision. Would it have been better to just chase him off? No. Maybe a NightClan cat would do that, but StormClan is better than that. There is nothing wrong with compassion. If I were bleeding to death because I had to fight off a fox, I'd need help as soon as possible, and would be grateful to get it. I was acting out of compassion. I'm no cold-hearted cat. I nodded to myself, reassured, and blinked at the two medicine cats hopefully. My eyes trailed down to Amberpaw, worry washing over me. Burrpelt flicked his tail in mild amusement at Briskpaw's sarcasm. He sure had a personality, didn't he? It almost reminded him of Oaktail. He pushed his thoughts away for the moment, finding that now wasn't the time to think about it. He listened as Briskpaw explained what happened and couldn't help but feel surprised at the end of the story.
Love?
He blinked, taking a moment to process what he had heard. He wondered if Skywhisker knew about this. He wasn't discouraging what Briskpaw felt, but in a way, he wondered how kits -- er, apprentices -- developed feelings so quickly. Then again, it reminded him a little of himself.
Burrpelt gave Briskpaw an encouraging nuzzle, shortly after licking between his ears. "You have plenty of time to think about it, Briskpaw," he murmured. "There's no race against your feelings. And there's no competition. Just make sure you're genuine when you decide." He himself had taken time. And he almost lost Skywhisker by doing it too. Their argument long ago had been scary to him, but he had been able to make up his mind. And he knew that he would never regret his decision.
He became serious again, straightening. "Though I'm a little disappointed that you didn't stay in camp. Amberpaw wouldn't have been able to get far if you had stayed and let a warrior know," he said sternly. "But I don't blame you. The important thing is you're safe. And I'm sure Amberpaw will be fine too. We just need to hope and pray to Starclan."
The tabby cast a look over to Featherheart as she spoke. He blinked and dipped his head in thanks to her. He was glad he was friends with the she-cat. Deciding that Featherheart was about to set off, he opened his mouth to say something else to Briskpaw, but stopped suddenly.
His fur rose uneasily and his ears flattened as the scent of blood reached him. It sure didn't smell like a Stormclan cat either. Thunderflight came into view, rushing over to look at her. Burrpelt looked uneasily at the rouge who had been escorted with the deputy. He needed treatment? A questioning thought crossed his mind: could they? Burrpelt wasn't quick to judge, but he wasn't sure if they could afford to help a rouge at this time. Weren't they in enough turmoil? He flicked his ears. He'd trust Thunderflight for now, but his apprentice's care was more important in his own mind.

Delgue Delgue remained quiet for most of the walk back lost in thought. As they arrived he surveyed his surroundings [This must be their camp...no it couldn't be it looks far too makeshift.] He thought to himself. From what he had heard these forest cats had been around a long time this settlement didn't look permanent enough for this many cats to have been living in for such a long time. [The earthquake must have pushed them out here..] He thought to himself once more. He spotted two cats with various plants scattered about their feet. The plants were most likely some sort of healing herbs that grew in the forest. Where he came from the method wounds were treated were usually just find a way to stop the bleeding and than you'd have to tough out the rest hope whatever you got wasn't infected. He felt as the she-cat he was leaning on hair stood on end he looked up and saw the injured cat as Thunderflight gasped he could tell from here the cat was young, very young. When Thunderflight bolted off he almost fell over on his side he didn't expect it, he steadied himself standing up as straight as he could. He was beginning to feel more and more light headed a bit woozy even the effect of all the blood loss and his wounds continued to afflict him worse as time went on. He made his way over to Thunderflight, the two cats with the herbs, and the injured she-cat. He looked over to Thunderflight as she stared down at the herbs he knew exactly what thoughts were crossing her mind. He had nothing else to comment on deciding it better he remained silent for the moment.
