Luna dives at him and knocks him to the ground, snarling and growling.
Noff food.... Not food..." she screams at him. "Nimbu noff food!!!!!!!!!!!!"

She fleis to Tes crying, "Mama... Nimbu noff food!!!!"

Tears well in his eyes "I-I-I wasnt gonna e-e-eat him" he starts crying like there's no tomarow and digs into the sand hiding himself from the two sets of glaring eyes

Now Luna was really confused. Her precious Daddy seemed to be liking this intruder, who had just suggested that her baby brother was food, far more than her. It was alright that he had brought someone new into her special box without asking. She trusted her Daddy or at least she had. Now she wasn't so sure. Nimbus was prescious. Look, even Mama was upset at the little dragon. What was wrong with her Daddy? Didn't he love her little brother anymore?

Sensing Kero's disappointment on more than one level, feeling Agro's fear and Tes' anger almost as strongly as though they were hers, she darts to her cave and wiggles her way into her crystal room to hide. Something was wrong, very very wrong. Finding a place between two tall crystals, a small dark secret place, she squeezed herself in and huddled crying.

Daddy didn't love her anymore. He had a new little dragon to love, one that was shiny on the outside just like he was on the inside. Why would he even want her around, a dragon so black and ugly, a dragon that looked just like those big bad dragons she had seen in that book she had found in Granpa Ame's library. No wonder he was going to send her to school. He was trying to get rid of her.

Feeling miserable and scared, Luna huddled in the darkness wishing she was back on the ship and that they had never ever come to Granma Ly's castle. She would give anything to go back to the way things had been... anything... even her special fairy rock.

She takes the small snake and holds it close, with a heavy sigh. "Den why ye gets mad at me... dun say ye didn... cuz I felt ye..." She whispers softly, more to herself than to Kero, her words more thought than spoken. She sniffs awkwardly and sighs, leaning against his chest. "He tawt Nimbu wuff food..." she says outloud angrily. "No one eets Nimbu... no one...."

Tes smiles gently at him and holds out her hand. "Come here, little one... do you know who I am?" She picks up Nimbus and holds him on her lap while she waits for Agro to join her.

"Would you like to see your baby brother?"

Tes waits him out with the patience that only a draconic trainer can emulate, talking to him gently, telling him about Luna and herself, but mostly about Luna.

"You really need to understand Luna, dear. She's really protective of her little brother. And I suspect she honestly thought you were serious. But we know you weren't, right? You really wouldn't have eaten him now, would you?"

Tes nods kindly. You really aren't much more than a baby yourself, little one. That you survived shows you are very resourceful and highly intelligent. And I do have to admit, Nimbus does whine quite a bit, especially when he's hungry himself." She pats the ground at her side and smiles once more.

"I don't eat little ones, trust me. Though I do so love a cooked fish. Was that your fish I saw my husband carry to the cave? That was a really fine fish."

Tes' eyes get really big, but she wisely refrains from acting alarmed. Instead she examines the tiny arm carefully and nods. "Now that fish was a bit too big for you, I suspect. Fish that size need friends to help catch them, right?"

She guides him to the spot at her side and introduces him to Nimbus, who immediately grabs at his nose, cooing as he does so.

"I think he likes your shiny nose." she laughs gently removing the tiny fingers.
