*Hopian chuckles*
Except that was my answer to your question...No...I have no sound reason...and you are judging my actions on the human scale...remember this, Dawnlord Mica...no matter what shape I take...I am feline by blood...and always will be....

Mica sighs and shakes his head. "And remember also that curiosity killed the cat." He nods towards his tea pot, offering to pour the lion a cup of tea.

*Hopian accepts the tea, and laughs*
People always forget the rest of the saying...."And satisfaction brought it back."
Besides, I'm immortal.
*Sips his tea*

"Immortal in that you cannot die or immortal in that you will not die until you are killed?" asks the priest with uncanny insight.

Both...immortal in that, unless killed, I will live until I choose to die...and immortal in the same way that Kero is...in order to die, I must be stabbed in the heart with a blade of shadows and growth...a dark plant, basically...in essence, you would have to stab me with a wooden sword...
On top of all that, Kero and I tether each other to life...our blood-bond has that effect...unless he dies...I live...and unless I die...he lives...we must be killed at the exact same instant....

"A dreadful curse, that..." says the priest in a sad voice. "I might ask of you the same thing I asked of Master Talesian, then... does it not get tiresome..."

*Hopian shakes his head*
I've got a job to do...fight the darkness...whenever it may rise...and should I tire of life, I need only sever my bond and choose to die...which, when it is time, I will do...
Hope Kero forgives me for spanking him...I hate doing it...and not because it hurts me too...I don't like striking my own brother...

*Hopian smiles*
You have no idea how close...our very hearts beat in time with one another...and I love him, not as a mate, but as a brother.

The elderly priest nods with what he believes to be understanding, then send Hopian on his way. "I've a temple to run and you have things most certainly that need you attention as well. Fair the day, Master Hopian."

*Hopian bows to the priest*
May all lightning evade you and your children...and believe me...I can accomplish that...Oh...and ye may want to warn the townsfolk...major storm brewing tonight...I'm going to try and keep lightning off of you...but no promises..even I can't master a whole storm...
*Slips out, bending light around himself again*

The Dawnlord nods thoughtfully and summons two of his subordinates, instructing them to have all the village informed of Hopian's warning, only he safe guards the cat's identity by attributing it to his aching joints.
"But Brother Mica," grumbles the younger of the two. "You want us to warn the entire countryside that a storm is brewing, just because you feel it in your bones."
But apparently Brother Mica's weather aches are well known, for the other priest merely shakes his head and pulls the other out into the hall behind him. "If I were you, I'd keep my mouth shut. If the Dawnlord says we are going to have a bad storm, we will have a bad storm. Morning's Light! At least the crops are all in. It could be worse, you know. He really only asked us to warn the village and doesn't have us actually tramping through the entire countryside as well."

*In the meantime, Kero, having woken up soon after sunrise, is waiting for Tam at the door, where he jumps into his arms*
Good Morning, Sira...

"Good morning, Taro... did you sleep well last night?" asks Tam carrying him into the kitchen. He places him on a stool and tosses his battered hat across the room where it lands with a thud on his work table.
