No....I have the ability to switch because of certain spells I have learned...spells he can't hope to control yet...and I would prefer that this all stay in here, okay? I don't want people knowing what I am...

The elderly priest nods his head and pulls up a chair. "So, I've been reading a tiny bit of Sharmistra's notes, not a lot but some, to get an idea as to what kind of creature the cub is. I cold see his base species was lion but tings didn't always set well. So stop me if I make an assumption that is wrong, please." he pauses and chews his lower lip thoughtfully. "Kero, here has the ability to mine deep down in the earth, right? How deep can he feasibly go before he encounters danger?"
It is easy to see when the old priest is coming from. He doesn't want to put the cub in danger.

That depends on a multitude of adding and subtracting factors, Sirra...but in prime conditions, he can go about three quarters of a mile down...in our conditions...maybe...half, at most...I'd probably employ him to carry bundles whilst I did the deep work...I can go a mile down, easily...
However, Kero's power will protect him, deep withing the earth...the heat and lack of air won't hurt him as much...so it'd be a toss-up...

Mica nods with relief. "And I suspect they are inherent, correct. So that is why he did so well when he was tested. It wasn't a fluke. The cub can outperform Brother Andrew and still not know a thing about what he is doing." he chuckles softly and smiles at Kerobian. "But just because you can does not mean your off the hook in understanding why things work as they do, young cat."

Tam chuckles softly and shakes his head. "Sorry, Taro, ye still have to go to school. If I've told ye once... I've told ye a thousand time... I don't know everything. No one does." Then he sighs and leaning over gives the cub a gentle scratch. "Hasn't stopped me from trying to learn all I can though and it should not stop ye."
Brother Mica nods in agreement. "Knowledge is power, my friends. He who refuses to garner what he can of it, is merely allowing another to determine his fate. Anyway, allow me to continue, if you please. Hopian, you say that you are an earth mage and need my blessing to operate in the area. Do I have your pldege that no one and no thing will be harmed in your endeavor?"

"He's as trustworthy as they come, my friend." says Tam out loud with a grin, startling both the cub and the priest. He leans back grateful to have the chance to watch someone else shock the normally unflappable elder of the temple.

Mica's eyes widen and he laughs softly at Hopian's words. "While it is true that not all of the Morning Lord's priest have chosen to do so, I have taken a vow of celibacy. Nevertheless, my life is devoted to my god, Hopian. And as such I can pledge nothing that will go in opposition to that."

That's as good as I'd get from any priest, I suppose....Dawnlord Mica...I'm a gemchild...the Child of the Opal...born of Earthmagic and Lightning...and one of twelve children who fight against the encroaching shadows...and yes...I have fought against, though not defeated...Takhisis herself...it took all twelve of us to stun her and make our escape...

The priest looks stunned. He blinks and rubs his face, then looks from Hopian to Kerobian, then over to Tam as if to ask for an explanation. "Is he...?" he starts to asks.
