Tam chuckles ruefully. "It's ok, kiddo... I'd help meself, iffin I knew how... how can one as young as you do what I cannot do fer meself, hmmm?" He kisses his forehead and asks if the cub wants to go on that walk, knowinbg that Hopian's venum will soon be wearing off.

So Tam takes him for a walk through town, in the direction of the temple, challenging the cub to find as they walk ten interesting things. "It is something Amestru used to do with me when I was very young, in heart if not in flesh... he says it makes one look at the world with new eyes. I'm not so sure of that my two cat slitted green eyes haven't changed since first I've seen them, but it has made me look at things a bit differently than I might have had, had he not taught me to do so. I rarely take a walk these days where I don't think to look for at least one I might not have seen before..."

"How quickly do ye want to get there, human speed or griffin... asks Tam worriedly, knowing the cub would not ask him something like that in that tone of voice if he didn't think it a matter that needed seen to immediately.

Tam picks him up and walks post haste to the temple, asking to see the Dawnlord upon his arrival. An aide leads them to a small sitting room, then leaves with a bow.
"So... are ye going to tell me what is going on?" asks Tam out of curiosity placing the cub on one chair and taking another next to it.

Sira...there is a huge vein of ore...I can't tell what kind without getting closer...but it's some kind of precious metal....and it is literally less than a mile out...ten miners couldn't strip this thing in a year, sir...I smelled it...and it's at least a half mile down...think how huge this vein is!

Tam nods thoughtfully "and how do ye propose the villagers mine it, and what if it lies on someone farm, such a venture would destroy any hopes to the thought of living out one's life peacefully now wouldn't it."
Tam knows Kerobian is trying to help the village but he isn't so certain Kero understand all the logistics involved. Mineral rights did not belong to the land owner but to the government in this time frame, though a township could petition the crown for a mining permit, if they agreed to increase their tax load considerably.

I've thought about it, Sira...the people of the town can't mine it...not without damaging the land...but Hopian and I can work underground...and we have ways of seperating ore from metal in tighter spaces...and the government has no jurisdiction over Miners...after all...they don't even know we exist...

As my brother was saying, Talesian...I won't flood the market...it's a simple arrangement I have used in the past...I mine the metals...and fashion them...paying the owners of the land for the privilege...all we have to do is draw up a contract stating that the local priest gives me leave to work my magic...I'm an earthmage...so that's normal...in return...when I find minerals...I pay for the mineral rights in taxes...and in return...I get easy access to metals with which to ply my trade...and Kero here makes it even easier..because it won't take as long to take what can be without harming the land...you see?

Tam shrugs. "Just playing the devil's advocate. I love this place and would hate to see it ruined by people who have no concern for those that live here."
"And why would we be needing an advocate of that personage within Lathander's fine halls." comes a voice from the door way.
Tam turns to smile at the Dawnlord and shakes his head. "Trust me, m'sirra... I would be the last person wishing to be a true advocate of said personage. It was only a manner of speech. Hopian and Kero here have a proposition to breech with you."

Mica paces thoughtfully. "So ye say you are a therianthrope then... not an evil one, to be true... you would have been detained at the gate in that had been the case. We've sensors against that sort of creature. Is Kerobian here one as well?"
