Mizuki grit his teeth secretly behind a coy, closed lip ******** David guy knew what he was doing. He knew about the symptoms of the infected and had already assumed the worse for Mizuki. Pulse though? This was new to Mizuki. He was very unsure about wha a pulse had to do with anything - but the food symptom he was oh so familiar with. Instead he tossed David a careless grin which miraculously he managed to force to his eyes and rubbed his hands together. "Well, it's a pretty chilly night." He said casually, and to the comment about the doctor he simply replied, "Yeah. There are very few around in times like this." He forced a grin. "Unbelieveable eh? Still, I got myself stitched up after an accident earlier before I bled to death. Maybe that's the reason I'm so pale. That and it's hard to get a good tan being chased by Crazies constantly." He chuckled and looked over to Nicholas to distract himself.
Suddenly there was a body pressing against him and he knew instantly from her certain pleasant smell that it was Kalila. He grinned and brought a hand up and stroked the back of her head once or twice before letting his arms fall limply to the side. He wasn't complaining. He enjoyed the closeness. It was comforting out here in the cold night air with probable death lurking every few steps away. Luckily this movement was not made to awkward as Kalila pulled away near the exact moment he did. Moments later Mizuki felt David's attention leave him and focus on Kalila. It was then that he recited his degrees. Double ******** could tell that he'd have a hard time pulling the wool over this one's eyes the moment he felt a change coming on. As if waiting for him to think about it, his stomach gave a gentle pang of hunger. Mizuki's expression fell to one of horror for a split second before he recovered. It was starting again. All the blood on the breeze was probably acting as an accelerant. He could swallow it down now, but he didn't know when it would be back. He lifted his head to regard the rest of the group, his face plastered with a convincing calm expression, though there was irritation in those eyes.
As David posed his question to the rest of the group, Mizuki suddenly remembered their purpose, having forgotten it in the initial panic of thinking David would suss him out. He cleared his throat and smiled at them all, his cheesy self assured grin. "We're out here to get supplies and take them back to the 'base'." He air quoted the term base and hitched up his shotgun. "First to the DIY store for gloves, goggles and masks - to protect against the spray and therfore the transfer of the virus. We are then set for the nearest Arms store and pray that it hasn't already been raided. After that the nearest convinience store for food supplies." He ran his hand through his hair, Mizuki had gone from being put out and nervous to a man on a mission in a few seconds flat. "As for the next move. I am about to make it. Kalila and Nicholas follow shortly after and then Alex and David." On that note Mizuki crossed over to the other side of the building and, indeed, there was the fire escape ladder. A knowing grin on his lips he climbed down it half way before assessing his options. The buildings were very cramped together, the ally way only about the shoulder bredth of one man - maybe one and a half. He spotted a second balcony across from him. He climbed up the ladder a short way to get a higher angle from it. After all, it was always easier to jump down on something than it was to jump across to something. Gripping on tightly and leaning in on the ladder rungs, elbows and knees bent he pushed off, turning 180 degrees as he did so, made easier by the force of the push off. He had to bring his knees up to his chest, narrowly avoiding getting his feet hooked on the rail banister and landed just short of the rails on the balcony. His landing was shaky and he stumbled forwards, slamming into the wall, catching it with his hands just in time to avoid face planting the brick. There was a fire escape door just beside him, which he focused his shot gun on as he waited for the other two to catch up

Mizuki explained his reasons for the condition he was in. Kalila nodded to David and Alex in a approval, to approve he was not lying. It made sense to her. Indeed he did lose a lot of blood when he got the gashes and hedid throw up twice. The pressure to his face would back him look ill. She thought as she looked about from the Alex's father to Mizuki. Indeed it had gotten colder. It had been about 82 degrees fahrenheit and now it was in the 70's. That wasn't bad, but there was a cold breeze every now and then from the waters of the surrounding bodies of water and the Atlantic ocean. Kalila couldn't feel it much though, due to all the black she wore as well as the material her clthing was made out of. The only place she could feel it was the small portion of her legs exposed at the thigh. Plus, she was a warm-natured person. Nicholas on the other hand was siding with what he assumed was David's theory: Something was wrong with Mizuki and one of the possiblities was infection. But, he wasn't too worried. We have a scientist with us... I'm sure he can do something about it. He thought confidently. Nicholas was also warm-natured, so to him it was a good temperature. Also he wore complete black and none of him was really exposed but his head and hands.
After that Kalila had spoken and hugged Mizuki. She enjoyed the petting of her head. It made her feel safe. I haven't felt this safe since I've been with my parents It was a fleeting thought, and Kalila let it escape. She rather not have thought about that right now. That was the time Nicholas had been busy with the gun.
After she let go of him and stood next to Nicholas, David spoke anwsering her question. Kalila let out a small laugh when he mentioned he didn't have a degree in Chemistry. She hated that subject as well. Subconciously, she was very happy to have a parent in her presence. It gave a sense of security to her that she didn't know she felt insecure about, and she could feel a weight being lifted off her shoulders. Plus, she liked David. He was funny and could make the tension and fear in everyone melt away. Nicholas, on the other hand, liked David but was wary of him. He may be a smart guy... I'm genuinely impressed... But... He seems so unserious! We might as well die if our lives were placed in his hands. He thought, running a hand through his thick hair. I mean he rather let us die laughing than fighting. He thought with mixed emotions. He didn't know if that was a good thing or a bad thing. Kalila laughed and said, "I'm sorry... David... Is it alright if I call you David? Or should I call you Dr. Marshall, since you have a doctorate." She continued without waiting for an answer, he could let his displeasure be known. "So you have a doctorate in biology. What have you been doing involving the virus. If I remember correctly," Kalila started, flicking her eyes from Alex back to his father. "Your wife is also a scientist or a doctor- or something like that." If he has the knowledge why doesn't he check on Mizuki... We wouldn't need a doctor. She thought with confusion. Maybe he's testing a theory... She mused. Before Kalila could think on it anymore Alex piped up, expressing his happiness at Nina's survival. "Oh no... Nina's much to kind for any chaos to be going on over there. I bet everthings as good asit can get there." She told Alex, based off Nina's normal behavior. She had no idea how ironic her words were.
David noogied his son and Kalila tool the oppertunity looking at Mizuki one more time to see if there was a reaction from him. In the darkness she couldn't see his eyes clearly so, to her, he didn't seem to react at all. Mizuki informed the new comers of there intentions. He was an architype leader right now. Odd... I would think him to be hungry. She thought as he spoke. He did throw up his last meal... His last two meals she corrected. And he took a shower. She didn't know if it was true for Mizuki or not, but many people she knew got hungry after taking a shower. Plus it was around dinner time, well it would be if this day was an average day when infected human beings weren't running a muck. Deciding that doing such was much too unhealthy for everyonee, specially Mizuki, Kalila rose her hand to get everyone's attention after Mizuki was done speaking. "I think the next time we chose to take a break we should eat." She said shyly. "Now wouldn't be too great a time because there are a lot of zombies around us that have been attracted to the onion bomb we threw." She said pointing at the cloud still in mid-float in the ally way, which now looked like a scene of war between the rat infected and the human infected. "If you were wondering what that was..." She said sheepishly. "So the food will have to wait, because that smell would attract them more." She said going back on topic. "Sounds good to me." Nicholas mumbled, knowing his opinion will finally go in the back, now that they had to older people in the group. She waited for everyone elses opinion as Mizuki chose to start coninuing on. He told everyone to go after him in a specific order. He made it to the next building in another wonderful feat of acrobatic ability, a now waited for them. Nicholas was in mid-curse and Kalila gasped when they thought Mizuki's face might have kissed the brick of the building in a terrible collision, but he had caught himself. Both of them relaxed.
Kalila gripped the hilt of the sheathed katana tied to her waist and looked at Nicholas. He had pocketed the ammo bag in his jeans and slung the rifle over his back, the strap of it going from one shoulder to the opposite hip. Closer examination proved the safety to be in place. He looked at his sister expectantly. It looked like she had something to say. "You want to try jumping together?" She whispered to Nicholas with a grin. He took a few seconds to think about it. "Hell yeah... Let's do it." He said after a while with a matching grin. The walked together to the edge of the building facing the other balcony. Jumping from that position would have resulted in broken ankles. the ladder was pretty wide, since it was for emergency and had to admitt more than one person climbing down at a time. The siblings climbed down the ladder side by side and their movement was in sync. "Stop." Kalila said after only a few rungs down. "This should be good enough." "Alright." Nicholas said with a nod. They turned their torsos to look at the balcony they were to land on. Kalila grabbed Nicholas's free hand as the other one for both of them was grabbing the ladder. It wasn't a far jump so they weren't really worried about not making it. They were more worried about the landing. "On three okay?" Kalila said to Nicholas though she was looking at the balcony, below and ahead. Kalila chose for her and her brother to be a little higher than the level Mizuki had jumped from, so as not to risk their feet being caught by the rail. Nicholas nodded is answer. "Ok... One... Two..." Kalila counted off. "Three!" Hand in hand Kalila and Nicholas pushed off the ladder together with one hand still on it and their legs. Kalila strength being more than Nicholas's was made apparent as she lauched a little further out than her brother, but their hands were still gripping. The landed on the balcony a millisecond appart, Kalila first and then Nicholas, bent legged. Kalila landing a little ahead, as in forward and timing, than Nicholas. Kalila's puffy skirt again floated with up with her as she had jumped, giving the whole situation a cartoony look. The balcony had rattled a little on impact. Since they jumped from a higher level than Mizuki most of their force was in the downward than in forward, so neither of them stumbled forward when they landed. Instead they felt a very slight pain in their ankles, nothing to complain about though. They both gave Mizuki a sheepish grin as they stood up fully again. This was hard for them. Nicholas took his hand back from his sister and brought the rifle back in front of him, taking example from Mizuki. Stepping closer to the door to give the other two left at the other building room to land. Kalila moved as well, as far she could. She positioned her legs apart and bent at the knees getting into an unsheathing attack stance with her katana.
Back at the her house Nina looked about the window and noticed that since it was dark there were bugs gathering near the light eminating from her window. Instead she turned her attention and looked at Thomas, smileding. "Ok... You stay here. I'll be back." she said rushing off out of the room. She walked to the weapons' room and picked up a couple of bottles of flammable oil. The house was made out of brick, and since the fire was going to be on the outside it wouldn't create any fire hazards. She also picked up some electrical wire and barbed wire. She ran her way out of the room, down the hall, and to her room again. She placed the materials on her desk and instrucked Thomas. "Spread this on the ground outside all around the house." She said loud enough for the boys outside to hear her as well. "We will manually light it on fire by throwing a match whenever we see a threat." She added handing a bottle to Thomas. "These wires?" she said holding up the barbed wire, walking to the window, and looking out at the people out there. "Well, put them on the edges of every window and door on the outside, except this one." She said pointing to her window. She noticed Reshion had some as well. Good... We might not had enough. She thought. "Oh... and which one of you are good with wires, electricity, and/or technology?" She asked looking to Thomas to Terry to Garath to Reshion, and then back again. "Because I have a plan and might need some help with it..." She said pursing her lips.

Listening to mizuki explain, he seemed to have alot of knowlage, david was impressed, this would have led anyone else to believe nothing was wrong, but david was positive about it. Mizuki's infected... I won't let the others know just yet... They don't need to worry "Makes sence." david said, responding to mizuki's excuse. Then kalila, who looked like she bought everything mizuki just said, spoke. "No, just call me david... docter makes me feel too proffesional." Then hearing what kalila said about him studying the zombies, "Now where did you get a crazy idea like that..." David said, glaring over at alex. "Ahh screw it, yes we were studying these things... Before you all knew about them, we flew a few samples of the virus in from florida, and some of the more south-eastern states... We never got very far in research, all we know is that, you get infected when some sort of liquid from an infected person, somehow infiltrates your body... In more ways then one." David said sorta couphing out that last part. "We also know the 5 stages of transformation. but we'll save that for another time." "And yes my wife is a scientist... infact she has a docterate in nearly every science... She's so smart... which is why i got to take a break and she's still working." david let out a sigh Kalila had responded to alex's question about nina, and he said, "It isn't her im worried about, I just hope they haven't burned her house down by the time we get back."
[[Hehe, deliciouse irony]] "Huh, you all made a bomb... with an onion...." david smiled at there creativity, and said, "well done." David and alex watched mizuki climb down the ladder, then swing on to the balcony. not noticing him nearly face planting into the wall, they simultaniusly said, "Wow" "Come on Alex it's our turn." "Nah im good dad." Then david sighed, and picked up Alex by the back of his shirt. "your coming with us whether you want to or not." He said, climbing down the ladder with his free hand and tossing alex onto the balcony. Waiting for alex to move, david said, "Here i go." He jumped off, and when he hit the ground he rolled. Then he stood up, and with a seriouse face started walking in mizuki's direction. He stopped right before he pasted mizuki and said, "What now?" And then he said, making sure only mizuki could hear, "Don't worry i won't tell anyone." Then david glanced at mizuki to make sure he knew what he ment.

Garath considered for a moment. He knew a bit about wires and techology but not really that much at all. Less then he knew about being a doctor even. He did want to be near Nina but if he couldn't help then it wouldn't be ehlping the group as a whole. "I'm no good with technology or wires. I've only used them in science class. I'll just help set up the barbed wire. Though I think we'll need gloves to handel it."

"Sh*t... That's what Kalila and them went out for." Nina said with a sigh. She stood there in silence for about five seconds. "I got it!" She finally said. "There is only me hand my dad so you guys have to bare with me on this ok." She said running down her face in a stressed motion. "We have gloves, you know, winter gloves. But they are made of cloth and not gonna help at all." She said with an apologetic smile. "But... But, I have a pair of leather gloves and my dad does too. But only one pair... each." She said to Garath. "Those might help... Will they help?" Nina asked putting a hand on her hip. "If it doesn't then you guys will probably just have to hold the barbed wire in a pinch..." She said with a shrug. Maybe Sargent Phillips had his own pair. she thought optimistcally.
She wandered over to her clothing drawer and opened one up. It was a drawer filled with winter accessories. Snow caps, gloves, mittens, scarfs, long socks, stockings, etc. were in the drawer. She dug around it a little bit until she pulled out a pair of black leather gloves with a red trimming of silk at the edges and lining on the inside. They were also smaller than most boy hands. She sighed after looking at them and though, Gosh... They're really girly. I hope that doesn't bother them too much. She ran out the door and down the hall, galloped down the stairs, turned to the right when she reached the bottom, opened the door to her father's room, and went in. She might have ran past Christian or Crimson, but she didn't know, because she was kind of in a hurry. She opened his closet and opened a shoe box on the ground. It was the wrong shoebox. On the inside was a pair of nice loafers. She quickly re-lidded it and opened the box next to it. Bingo! There was a bunch of winter gloves and snow hats inside. She dug around and found the correct pair. They were a pair of leather gloves lines on the inside with cotton. They were perfect... If they weren't so thin. Hopefully these will stand up to barbs...
She made her way back up with both pair of gloves in her hand. "I'm sorry..." She said with an apologetic look to Garath. She swung herself out the window. It was a very practiced and fluid motion. She'd done it many times before. She really used this enterance more than she used the front door even before all this. She landed on the platform and went down the stairs until she was on the second platform. She sat herself at the beginning of the ladder. Nina held up the two pair of gloves sheepishly. "These are it. Take your pick." she said to him with an embarrassed cough.

Thomas took the oil and before he could go down the fire escape, he heard Nina's question.
"Uhm... I'm okay with technology... I'll try to help if nobody else can."
The army guy probobly knows more about it than I do, I'll help out if he dosn't, or if he dosn't want to help...
Thomas wen't down the ladder to distribute the oil evenly along the ground.
Something started moving in the garbage can near him.
"Uhh... Hellooo...? Anybody there..."
Thomas started to get nervous, a single drop of sweat rolled down his face. He pulled one dagger out of his pocket and approached the garbage can. The garbage can started shaking, so Thomas kicked it over.
A Raccoon poped out and stared at Thomas for a few seconds.
"Well aren't you the cutest little-"
"HISSSS!!!"
"AHH!!! AHHH!!! OH. MY. GOD."
Thomas ran further away from it, and as it got closer to him and entered the light, he could see that the raccoon was missing half a face, a leg, and had scrapes and gashes across it's side. It's pupils were almost non existant.
It didn't take Thomas to long to relize, this thing was infected. It was foaming at the mouth staring directly at Thomas while is made a sound that sounded like a cross between a hiss/pant/coughing noise.
Thomas took his one dagger, and threw it at the Raccoon. The Raccon dodged at and came directly towards Thomas.
I AM NOT GOING TO DIE BY A F*CKING RACCOON!
Thomas pulled out his second dagger and pierced the raccoon through the heart.
Thomas dropped the dagger with the raccoon still attached. It layed on the ground motionless. Thomas approached it in attempt the pull out the dagger.
Thomas touched the dagger, and almost instantly the Raccoon jumped up and attempted to take a bite out of Thomas. Reflexes took over at this point, and Thomas punched the Raccoon in the face and crushed it's skull.
Thomas's heart was beating so fast, he was sure he would pass out. But he didn't. He picked up the two daggers and attempted not no touch the blood. The then picked up the raccoon and threw it as far away from the house as possible. He managed to get it pretty far down the street.
That's sure to attract some attention... Better warn the others.
Thomas whiped the blood off of his hands with a T-shirt he had in his packback. He then cleaned off the blades and threw the shirt in the garbage.
Thomas climbed back up the ladder after finishing up with the oil.
"Uhh... Nina... We have some good news... and some bad news. What do you wan't to hear first?"
[[Now tell me, did that not make you laugh or at least smile at some point?]]

((You shoulda said, CURB STOMP b***h, before you crushed his skull xD also Kagomethearcher wont be back for a while....like 2+ hours...))
Terry stood over the edge of the ladder watching everything that had happened to Thomas. "A puncture and/or dismemberment to the brain will kill an infected. That stab won't cut it....and next time it won't be a racoon." He said in a dark tone as Thomas climbed back up. Its getting more dangerous every minute.....this is bad....He continued to make hourly sweeps of the area every now and then, waiting.

He looked at the two pairs of gloves. His hands where fairly small and would probably fit Nina's better then her dads. But they looked like girl gloves. He considered taking her dad's gloves but her dad's gloves also looked kind of on the thin side. Well saftey and comfort first not fashion. "I'll take these gloves. My hands are probably the only guy's hands here that can fit in them." He took the girly pair and put them on. They were a bit tight but they were also nice and thick. Esially enough to handel barbed wire. He picked up one role. "I'll start on the up stairs windows."

"I'll make a barrier for the fire escape. Nina, can you help me?" He asked her, mentally crossing his fingers. "Pleeeease say yes, pleeeease say yes." He thought, anxious. "My father taught me some technology expertise. If you still need help when I get done making the entrance for the fire escape, then I'll see what I can do. Terry might be a bigger help than I will most likely." Reshion said.

((Yes... I laughed))
"Sorry..." Nina said again. "Upstair windows? Alright I guess, but I think doing the downstair windows would be better, you know... The ones that they could reach easier." She said with a nice smile. She wasn't trying to be mean, but she rather Garath stay safe. "That way there's no chance of you falling..." She added. "Thank you..." she said after a pause.
Nina's attention turned to Terry as he stood by her looked down at a scene. He looked like he was busy and rather not have bothered him. He looked very intimidating with the camoflage and guns. Then he spoke and Nina was confused. Who was he addressing? She turned away from looking at arath with a sorry and looked at the direction the sargent was looking at. Thomas made his way back to the fire escape with empty bottles. Job well done... She thought after seeing the ring of unbroken liquid that went around the house. Thomas came back looking slightly scared as he addressed her. She still sat at the top of the ladder, as Thomas climbed on to it. She backed up, giving him room to get on the platform if he liked. She pulled a marron leather jacket closer to herself. Seeing Thomas and his talk of the whole bad new/good news deal reminded her of the danger she was in just being out of the house. Wait... What's the new? "What the hell happened to you, man?" She asked with a confused yet worried look on her face. There was a discoloration to his hands as if he had dipped his hands in paint and just wiped them off without water. It was then that all the possiblities dawned on Nina when she established that the discoloration was wiped blood. She chose to calm herself down and take it easy instead of start a panic right now. She connected Terry's words to the situation and calmed down even more. I can deal with this... If Terry, a man who should know the rights and wrongs, is fine with ot we all should be. She told herself reassuringly. "What's the bad news?" She asked bravely. As soon as that boy get's his words out I'm making him wash his filthy hands! She screamed in her mind. His hands actually weren't that dirty looking it was just Nina's Zombie-phobia.
Reshion addressed her next and for her it was not a good time. she was still freaking out about the whole possibility of Zombies. "Hold on Reshion..." She said nicer than she wanted to be. "Let Thomas speak." She said, keeping what he said in mind though.

Garath nodded and turned around. "I"ll do that." He didn;t mind being told to do something he should have thought of. The downstaris was the place they would most likely come in. ALso it was nice taht Nina had said taht extra part about ebing less likely to fall. He noticed Thomas coming back scared but Garath decided to set up defences first and hear what happened second. The defences had been delayed enough already.

"Just apologise to her Ren. Get it the hell over with. Hopefully she will forgive you and she'll like you....Hopefully." He thought to himself. "Pfft. i doubt it. See how she acted when I told her my feelings? I am a complete idiot. Pourquoi est-ce que je dois être un idiot si foutu ? Tout que j'ai dû faire n'était pas coupure la table, et elle ne serait pas même folle ! Vous voyez la manière qu'elle regarde la droite de Garath ? Elle l'aime, et vous déteste. Garath n'est pas vraiment pris par vous non plus. Je pense qu'il me déteste également." He said, cursing himself in French. "I only speak French when I am angry dammit. I really so like Nina. But....I think she hates me." He though. As he picked up the barbed wire, he cut his hand. "s**t." He said calmly. "Nina?" He said softly, approaching her, but remembered that she was talking to Thomas, so he decided to wait.
