"Human remedies often do not work on beings other than humans." The woman shrugs, shifting her stance so she can see both women. Her eyes look the newcomer up and down as if judging the worth of a a piece of fruit or some other thing to be bought at the store. She gives the white haired woman a similar look, though it has some curiosity mixed with the judgement. "I personally find causing mischief to do the trick."

At the continued allegations, her frown turned into a pout. "If anything, I prefer the term 'boredom alleviator'." Sorrowfully, she began to pick at the table cloth of the refreshment table. Of course, the action was entirely for show. A closer look would reveal that her hand was not even fully manifested and her fingers merely passed through the cloth.
Despite her minor pity party with the table cloth, the Phantom was still obligated to continue the introductions that Clara had begun. Without looking up, she added, "Clara, this is Gwen. Another friend of mine."

"Took up...? Meaning originally you were not a royal?" Cid asked, her eyes widening behind her bangs. A non-royal attaining that kind of status? That was quite a feat in her opinion. "How did you take up the position?"
As to the comment about missteps she completely understood. There was...a lot the knight wasn't proud of that she had done.

"Technically I'm not now either..." she replied after a pause. She frowned, considering her word choice, "As for how...well I guess you could say it was a bit of an agreement? Both sides had things we needed from each other, and the position was available and needed to be filled right away...so as long as the terms of the agreement were met, I had the job."

Gwen rolls her eyes at Phantoms antics before holding out a hand to Clara, "Name's Genevieve, but Gwen is less of a mouthful."
The heavy clicks of a determined stride caught her ear and she turned to see who neared. It was a man who had come in with the bus drivers. His eyes were sharp and his expression was one of annoyance. Meeting the hardened gaze of the man, the Phantom merely bowed her head in simple greeting. She was curious to see what this man would do.
Simply letting his feet carry him, Nate wandered closer to the food area. It wasn't until he caught the eye of another party goer, a woman with long pale hair, that the driver realized he hardly knew anyone here besides his two coworkers. Nice Nate. Always a good idea to go wander off in unfamiliar territory when you're not thinking straight. But the woman simply nodded at him, and that snapped him out a bit. Jeez, he must look like he wanted to kill someone right now. Nathan returned the woman's greeting with his own polite nod, and sighing to himself, claimed a table a little away's from the crowd near the food. Not far enough to be isolated, but space enough that he didn't mean to intrude on anyone. The driver shut his eyes and focused on his breathing for a moment to center himself, like he did often before practicing with his knives.
Speaking of his knives, he still had the butt-load of pocket squares the mystery woman had given him, but his pockets were mostly already occupied. Because he really couldn't help himself, Nate found himself looking around, hoping to catch a glimpse Ms. Blue-Hair again before he spread the squares out on the table to re-count them. He then emptied his pockets, lining the table with several throwing knives. Nate was fairly certain the squares would be shredded if he tried to keep them near the knives, but the pouch at his waist was already full. Maybe he could try what he'd suggested earlier to Mo?

Mo was actually starting to enjoy herself in a place like this. Laney was bubbly and fun to talk to, she genuinely seemed nice, and it was actually fun being girly for once. Whatever facade the Phantom had been in the middle of dissipated the moment she heard the offer to dance. She straightened, pout gone, and her gaze immediately honed in on Clara. The sly smile that had begun to emerge on her face was quickly hidden as she sighed wistfully and fell into another performance. "What a lovely offer, Gwen. It saddens me to say that I have already used far too much energy this evening. I fear I am too tired to fully manifest and dance with you. However, I am certain Clara would be willing to oblige you...."
She turns towards Phantom with slight annoyance. "I thought I said I do not know how to dance! I also feel like that is an excuse to get me out there."
