"Yeah." Cyrus replied quietly as his friend mused that traveling together would be like 'old times'. "Who knows~ Maybe this time you'll get a kiss~" The voice's comment echoing in his head, plus the realization of the wording of his own suggestion to find a room, caused the Egyptian to feel flustered. He did his best to hide it, trying to ignore the soft giggles. At this point, he hardly even noticed that Apollo had started to head towards the pokemon center to get said room. Cyrus preferred to stay in hotels over pokemon centers, but... he supposed they weren't TOO bad for being free.
He glanced over to his friend as he struck up some light conversation along the way. "Eh... I don't know how long I'll be in Unova." he replied honestly with a light shrug of his shoulders. He really didn't have any immediate jobs to do, nor did he have any specific place he should be. "That's right~ stay with him~" Ignoring the comment, Cyrus focused instead on the conversation. "I suppose it'd make sense for me to collect the Unova badges, too..." he replied. He'd gotten most of them once before, quite a while ago. He grinned, pleased to know that Cyrus would take up his suggestion and try his hand at the Unova league, then gave a nod. "If you want, tomorrow morning we can do some backtracking, head back to Striaton City so that you can challenge the gym leader there." He personally didn't mind too much if they went back a few cities, even if that was in the complete opposite direction of the next gym; this would give him a chance to let his weaker pokemon participate in battles they had more of a chance against. Apollo was still waiting for Cy's response when they entered the pokecenter, the automatic doors sliding open to reveal a nearly empty lobby. As expected, Nurse Joy greeted the two men with a smile from behind the counter, which Apollo returned with ardor before he approached the woman. "Good evening." Shifting his weight from one foot to the other the bright-haired male proceeded to request for a room, making certain that it'd be one with two beds, before he turned back around to smile at Cyrus, brandishing their room key. "You wanna hold onto this?" he questioned as he stepped away from the counter and began to make his way down the hall that'd lead them to their temporary room for the night.

This was... hm. Being careful to keep her expression unchanging, Mila looked the 'human' over, then turned to observe the battle after her scrutiny. She certainly hadn't expected that sort of response, and as so it threw her off. Not enough to apologize, mind you, but enough to reconsider her approach. "It looks like your pokemon are more than capable of handling this battle on their own," she observed, then turned back around to look at the other. "I suppose it's not much of an emergency..." she admitted. "I'm just having trouble figuring out where I am." Scarlett remained passive at Zak's sarcastic jab towards how "happy" she was to get started. "Oh, absolutely. I can't wait." She insisted cooly. In all honesty she was excited to play, but her resentment toward's Zak's actions and what they could possibly mean was overriding any positive emotions within her. She was still so frustrated about not knowing how much he knew about her, but by channeling that frustration and energy into playing, maybe her determination to beat Zak at his own game would prove useful enough to even the odds a bit. She asked that he show her the basics so they could get started, and Zak obliged, bouncing the ball to her. Scarlett caught it in her hands, nodding as Zak suggested she could start with dribbling. "Anyone with basic hand eye coordination can bounce a ball, I just daen't know how ta do it without starin' at my hands, and I daen't think a visual demonstration is gonna help with that..." She suggested seriously. Bouncing the ball and keeping it under control without watching her hands wasn't something he could teach by visual example, it was something she would probably have to practice and feel. She'd seen players dribble before, and it was honestly impressive how easy they made it look. You couldn't watch the ball when playing, you had to watch the court, the basket, the opponent, and not get caught up in making sure you had the ball under control all the time, so the fact that they had the ball so well under control without paying much attention to it was impressive.
She dropped the ball once to see just how much bounce this ball actually had. Catching the ball again in her hands, she started bouncing it with one hand, which was easy enough when watching her hand, but the moment she tried looking away, she often lost control of the ball and cursed under her breath. Inhaling sharply, she gripped the ball and looked at Zak, swallowing her pride. "Can ya please help me?" She asked with a frustrated frown. As angry as she was with him from before, she was grateful that he was keeping his promise to help her. She was honestly interested in learning, not only to even the odds against Zak, but it would also make the game more enjoyable if she actually knew what she was doing. She knew it was probably for his own benefit as well, since crushing her as untrained as she was now probably wouldn't be nearly as satisfying for him either. She wasn't sure how he could help her with this particular issue, but if he had any tips or tricks, she would gladly take them.

Vandal glanced to the battle against Isaac as Mila pointed out that Scarlett's pokemon appeared to be capable enough of handling the battle on their own. "Well, alright yeah, ya've got a point there doll." He admitted. "Still, s'kinda rude to yer opponent not to give a battle full undivided attention, ain't it?" He scratched his head. Klepto wasn't all that into ethics and all, often pulling underhanded tricks to tug the strings in his favor. Vandal had carried out the performer's wishes since he was Vandal's trainer, but that didn't mean Vandal always agreed with it. Sure, he liked to stir the pot as much as the next guy, but Klepto took things too far, which was part of why Vandal had left. Sure Scarlett wasn't a saint either, but she at least shared some of the ethics Vandal had, like not betraying a teammate. Some eithics were more important than others though, for instance, he couldn't just let a troubled and lovely lady fox like this one go on in need of assistance without at least hearing her out, so Vandal asked if there was any urgency. It seemed there wasn't, according to Mila, though she was lost. "Oh..." Vandal frowned, scratching his head. "Um.... Well you're in Castelia City, but if ya need more specifics or somethin', then you're outta luck. Sorry lady, I'd like to help you, but I don't really know the area all that well myself." He admitted. Still though it was easy getting the job done and locating a map, looking it over and getting the information they needed to move along.
Sebastian did quirk an eyebrow as Jay remarked about the desert. "You almost forgot… have you been through it before?" He inquired. He’d never actually been through a desert or anything before though he heard they were rather hot and sandy. At the mention of getting water though, he nodded in confirmation. "Ah sure, that sounds smart. I think there’s a market down this way, heading in that direction." He remarked, adjusting his pokemon again before starting to semi-lead the way to the market. It didn’t quite take long to get there and after some perusing and purchases, Sebastian was ready to set out once more in the direction of the route gate heading and the Desert Resort.

Cyrus merely nodded at Apollo's remark, doing his best to ignore the voice that suddenly decided to be intruding upon his thoughts. It was rather difficult to balance, so it took a while for him to consider Apollo's offer to back track with him so that he could start his Unova badge collection. Personally, he'd rather go do that on his own. Or at least normally. While he was somehow succeeding to block out the voice, it didn't stop the sudden feeling of guilt that weighed down the thought of going to the gyms on his own, where meanwhile, going along seemed so much more happy and bright. Brandishing a grin Apollo simply offered a nod in Cyrus' direction when he accepted his offer to head back to Striaton together. After grabbing their room key and making their way towards their room for the night, the bright-haired male turned his head back so that he could look back at his friend. "Alright." Apollo waited until he'd unlocked the door before he slipped the key into his front pocket, patting the front section of the material afterwards out of habit. "It looks nice," he noted as he looked around, stepping inside after Cyrus' pokemon. He didn't care too much about which bed he'd be claiming for the night and so, leaving the choice to his friend, Apollo simply set his saxophone case down along the wall before he stretched out.
"Do you wanna head to dinner after the battle? You can look up a few restaurants they in the city, if you want." Going out to eat after a, hopefully, victorious sweep of a gym sounded like a good way to celebrate to him, not to mention it'd be the perfect way to wind down the night. Apollo headed back to the door, taking to leaning against the doorframe while he waited for Cyrus' answer. He wouldn't leave yet, but it was obvious that he was preparing to head back out.

Mila gave a nod when Vandal agreed with her, these pokemon here certainly were used to battling and didn't need to rely on their trainer to make their own decisions and attack. She stiffened, however, at the way he referred to her, or rather the word he used. "Don't call me that," she huffed swiftly, her arms pressing further against her chest. 'Doll'... tch. Emitting a sharp exhale Mila turned her attention back to the battle, or rather the young trainer of the pokemon that were currently being trounced. "I suppose you have a point..." She'd certainly find offense if her opponent weren't giving her the time of day-- that being said, she found offense with many things; this 'human' was far more... considerate than she would've thought. The shiny Delphox, after receiving her answer, frowned before she looked out at the many buildings around them. Castelia was... in Unova, which was a region she'd never been to before. To make matters worse, it appeared Vandal knew about as much of the city as she did.
Internally fighting between frustration and distress Mila's ears drooped ever so slightly, and she gripped her stick tightly, attempting to calm herself. "Excuse me?" Cyrus looked around the room as he entered. The room was just 'okay' to him, though his pokemon obviously didn't have any complaints. He went over to one of the beds, sitting down. Then, he looked to his friend as he heard him set down his saxophone case, asking about going to dinner when he got back. The Egyptian struggled internally for a moment, though it didn't show. Whatever had been commenting seemed to be fighting to make more comments. Yet it still somehow shoved a flustered feeling on to him. "Sounds good!" he managed to say, feeling the pink prickling into existence on his face. Once Apollo was gone to his battle, he'd have to get to the bottom of whatever was going on. It was embarrassing and annoying. "Good luck with your battle." Cyrus told his friend before he could leave.

Scarlett's sarcasm might have annoyed Zak under different circumstances, but he was surprisingly unfazed by it. Probably by most things, actually. His mind was pretty tunnel visioned on basketball (his perhaps one true love). He folded his arms over his chest after bouncing the ball to her, watching her catch it, and listening to her response. He quirked an eyebrow, giving her a bit of an unimpressed stare, but tried to keep it down from being too judgmental. He watched her start bouncing, taking in a silent, deep breath, and holding back a comment as she clearly locked her gaze with the task. It was... almost surreal. It had been a while since he saw someone so... newbie-y to the sport. Gave him flashbacks to when he was just a little kid, learning, and then when he was a little older, waiting for his friends to learn so they could play together.
Definitely... a different situation here, but still.
He dropped his arms and reached back to rub his neck as she asked for help, giving her a lackadaisical stare as he seemed to consider it. "Da, fine," he agreed, striding over. Dribbling the ball, he kept her hand in his and moved to catch it as it bounced back up, using mostly their fingers to bounce it again, and then withdrawing his hand. He moved back around to look at her. "Try et a few times, zen seemply looke up vhen you feel like you have some handle on et." His voice was neutral, instructive... His usual drawl, but surprisingly not sarcastic or judging like it often was. He didn't care of his advice was sound, it was just what worked for him. Apollo raised an eyebrow curiously as he looked Cyrus over, taking note of the pink tint to his cheeks. He... hadn't said anything that would garner such a flustered reaction, so perhaps the male had just thought of something? Deciding not to prod, Apollo simply gave a grateful nod and made his exit, closing the door behind him. Once on his own the man made his way out of the pokecenter and, after a bit of mental calibrations, headed in the direction of the market; there wasn't any harm in doing some last minute shopping. Plus, he could use this time to finalize his plan.
The mart was easy enough to locate, with its blue-colored roof, and as the automatic doors slid open the AC's cool air could be felt. Not wasting anytime Apollo entered, his mind working as he began to traverse the aisles in search for his items. Unfortunately by the time he'd stepped up to the counter to pay for his things Apollo had... come up with nothing. With a frown just barely visible on his visage he took out his wallets, handing the cashier exact change before he took his bag and headed back out.

Rather than wait for his 'trainer' to give him attention he gave him a light shock, instantly getting his attention. "Sonofa--" Apollo jerked his body back, dropping his items onto the ground in the process. |20+0|\/| didn't seem all too worried and with his eyelids lowering halfway over his eyes he gave a very bored glance towards the man, simply waiting for the man to pick his things up before he looked up at him; now he had his attention.
He had reluctantly returned to his pokeball once Meebus had been dragged away, since he didn't have much of a choice. He would've ditched the orange-haired fleshy, but... as of now he was his only way of staying in contact with Meebus. "I'm... sorry?" Finding his voice, Apollo offered an uncertain apology and then, with his other hand, scratched the back of his head. This was really happening, wasn't it? He was being berated, insulted, and threatened by a pokemon he barely even had time to get to know; if he wasn't the angriest little thing he'd ever seen... "You're going to be battling someone right?" |20+0|\/| asked, apparently done with his insults, for now. "Yes, Burgh. He's a gym leader." Silence filled the air as |20+0|\/| seemed to think something over, and it remained there for several minutes--enough time for Apollo to begin wondering just what he should do. "Is he strong?" he finally asked and, automatically, Apollo nodded, only to immediately go to a verbal response when he realized that the Rotom might not be able to see it.
"Hmm..." From his communicator the screen flickered to life, revealing the indecisive face of |20+0|\/|. Finally he looked up, directly at Apollo. "I'll be participating in this battle then. Alone." Bewildered at this sudden proclamation the bright-haired male couldn't help but to stare down at |20+0|\/|, who looked back with a blank stare. "There is no questioning this, fleshy. What kind of pokemon does this 'Burgh' possess?" Apollo gave a heavy sigh, unsure of what he'd gotten himself into; did Zak know that this pokemon was... like this? "Bug."
Another moment of silence passed, though |20+0|\/| used that time to detract himself from Apollo's communicator. His blank, uninterested stare bored into the man's face before he promptly dropped down into Apollo's bag of new items, coming back out with the heat plug he'd bought earlier. Immediately his form began to change and, after the light had died away, a small oven hovered in the air. |20+0|\/| looked down at his form, taking it in, before he looked to Apollo expectantly, giving a sharp nudge to indicate that they should get moving.

Though Apollo lead the way |20+0|\/| floated right by his side and, during a few seconds, ahead. This pokemon... he was really something. Of course, he was more than happy to have help against Burgh, especially since the Rotom would prove of great use against the bug-specialist. Still though... he didn't know if |20+0|\/| would be able to take the gym on by himself, especially not with the move he had on him-- though |20+0|\/| had disapproved of it heavily, Apollo had stopped just long enough on their way to the gym to scan the pokemon's new form with his pokedex. He was part fire now, which was incredibly useful, but the move he knew... although powerful it had a huge setback, especially if used in succession.
He wasn't given much time to think more on the matter, however, as they arrived at the gym, |20+0|\/| shooting Apollo a look before the human pushed open the door to allow the other to slip inside. The gym's setup was... interesting to say the last, its interior made up to look like a giant honey comb. "Huh..." Apollo wasn't given the appropriate amount of time to appreciate the gym's design, |20+0|\/| impatiently charging ahead and leaving the man to catch up. It took a bit of wandering, but the two eventually found themselves in the last room where Burgh, the man himself, stood awaiting them. "Ah, challengers? It's certainly been a while." The man gave a light stretch before he brought his hand down to produce a pokeball. "Please, give my pokemon and I an elegant battle: we wish to be amazed!"
