 The staff laughed at her " That is where you are wrong." it said " With the knowledge of spells both of you contain now even if you don't use much energy you use you would have to remain focused and she can easily disrupt that." it told her " She knows your fear and can force yuor mind to perceive it and cause your mind to shut down entirely with a single word and that spell is known as Zalem's command." it said " To defeat Lillet you'd have to know all of the Anti-gods spells..and thats also why you need to find those dragon eggs." it said " The only person to know all twelve Anti-god spells were Elkand's real mother..and she's dead." it yawned " Its a good thing you caught her at night when she's seemingly calmer."

 Larkanna had only ever heard of the Anti-god spells and when the staff mentioned that it was the only way to rid of Elkand's step-mother, she sighed a little. "I don't suppose his mother had a journal or diary that would give us a clue as to how to figure out where we might find these spells?" These past few turn of events were leading them farhter away from the their upcoming challenge and into a bigger one where many wouldn't even stand a chance. "And how will the dragon eggs help?"

The staff sighed " Though they are seemingly young they can help you learn and locate the spells..and talking to his mother would require talking to someone you don't want to know." it said " Her memory loss has already made yuor situation worse and has brought his curse to a staggering rate of growth." it said and if Larkanna had no idea Elkands mother was Lujei if she was smart enough she would figure it out now. .

Larkanna's heart seemed to skip a beat and she had to remind herself to breathe when it mentioned who his mother was. Her knees went weak and she had to walk over to the nearest chair to sit down before answering. "Lujei...." After a few minutes, she regained the strength to stand and she asked quickly, "Isn't there any other way?"

The staff didn't respond for a moment " There is no other way." it said " Either find those eggs or speak to Lujei, but I doubt she'll help you until she gains back her memory." it said " Also I would like to inform you she can also break yuor connection to Elkand but I only suggest doing it if you still can't find a way to rid him of his curse." it said " Now get some sleep you will need it." it said and cast a powerful sleeping spell on her.

Larkanna was about to make an arguement as to why she didn't know how to break the connection when it cast the sleeping spell. Her amber eyes fluttered shut as she drifted into a deep and dreamless sleep.

The next morning Elkand woke up feeling terrible just as Larkanna did since she was forcibly put into sleep. He drank a quick potion to make himself feel better and got ready for the meet today. He walked over to Larkanna and put his hand on her head " Larkanna...wake up." he said before moving his hand to her back and shaking it lightly.

Larkanna did not wake for several minutes, and when she did, her mind was groggy. Sleeping spells always had greater effect on her than most witches and wizards, which was odd for a powerful witch. Slowly, she stood up and looked up at elkand, knowing that he probably felt the same, if not worse, than her. "Sorry..." She said quietly as she brushed some of her fire colored locks away from her face.

Elkand smiled his usual kind smile as if nothing was wrong and he helped her up and moved her over to the couch sitting her down " No problem." he said " You could have just taken my room if you needed to sleep." he said he actually wondered if she would start acting sort of childish like he did as even he didn't feel so bad after being hit with a sleeping spell. He looked at her " You still wanna go through with the meet?" he asked her asking Alistair to bring her something to drink.

Larkanna had to keep herself from falling back into slumber when she sat down on the couch. Shaking her head, she said, "No, no... we can't back down now. Not when we're so close..." Reaching out, she took his hand that had the symbol emblazened on it and said, "The staff was right..."

. Elkand of course protested " I know but you don't seem to be in the best state right now as sleeping spells have lasting effects." he said. Elkand stared at her and tilted his head to the side as he looked confused by her words " The staff was right?" he asked her having absolutely no clue what she meant by that.

Larkanna shook her head again, "Once I'm awake, I'll be past the after effects...." When he asked her about the staff she said, "The curse is growing at a remarkable rate within you, and those three dragon eggs have knowledge as to where the Anti-God spells are to rid of Lillet... it also said that we'd have to speak with Lujei herself." She shuddered at the last part, having never wished to see that cold hearted creature ever again.

Elkand stared at her ' Rid of Lillet?" he asked " Why would I want to attack my mother, I know she's insane but I don't want her hurt." he said " And why in the world would we speak with Lujei to learn some spells?" he asked her confused having not been apart of the conversation between the staff and Larkanna but he obviously didn't get the point.

"She can disrupt our bonding as easily as snapping her fingers, rendering both of our magic resevoirs as useless as fish out of water." Larkanna replied, her tone dark as her mind fully wrapped around that perspective. "She also knows the spell Zalem's Command, which could shut you down with only a mumbled word. Only your real mother knew the Anti-God spells, which may be used to defeat Lillet and perhaps even rid you of that curse."

Elkand stared at her " A staff told you all of this?" he asked her and looked around " Its embarrassing when a staff knows more about my family then I do.' he said ' I didn't even know I had a real mother..I thought Lillet was but since you've pretty much reveled that she isn't." he said and sighed " So we need to speak to Lujei..but I don't think thats wise as she's taken enough of yuor energy, any more and she may revive herself." he said with a distressed sigh.
