((No, Jamie and Co. arrived around sunset.))

"All right," Eula replied, brushing off her paws in a 'finished' way. "I'll talk to you later, okay? I'm going to head out for a walk."

Without even sparing Donato the tiniest of glances, she breezed past him out of the kitchens, back into the Great Hall. Yawning and stretching her arms a bit, she left the building and walked quietly outside, making a beeline for the orchard area by the pond.

She hummed very quietly to herself, every now and then shooting glances off in other directions as if looking for someone or something.

Jude watched Eula leave then looked askance at Donato. "What did you do?"

"No idea." He replied with a shake of the head. He frowned thoughtfully, but soon shrugged. "G'night, Jude." He left the kitchen and headed upstairs, deciding to take a hint.

::Faith let out a tiny yelp of some sort of panic, getting herself ready again before she accepted little 'Tracy' into her arms, letting out a small 'phew' of relief, cradling the little one again with a smile::

::But if Tannia had disappointed Faith at all with her decision, the dibbun at all, it was very hard to show itself as the vixen beamed up at her instead:: 'S 'kie!!!

Ya promise y'll s'ill look affer 'er, you be 'er teech'r, 'kie?

::Jasmine, however, did see her own smile fade somewhat, but her look to Tannia was understanding enough, but she followed after Faith's own words:: Now, you can't deny the abbess that promise, can you?

We'll all look after her in our own way. ::She looked to Faith once more, as the little one giggeld over in her own good deeds, looking to the little one, only then, her smile faded slowly, with her good ear drooping slowly::

She s'ill needs a mumma though... ::Faith looked round, apparantly out of her own ideas...::

::It was in the air now...::
PostPosted: Sat Feb 25, 2006 1:46 pm

Tannia was still standing back, looking at Faith and the most-likely orphaned bunny in her arms. She wrung her paws now, stifled with guilt for being so selfish.

Even if Jasmine was being so understanding about it, there was no reason she couldn't step up and take some responsibility. Besides, for the past day she'd felt like she just had everything - like everything was perfect - it wouldn't hurt to share. Plus... she'd always planned on having her own...

But not this fast! She'd only been married for a day, she had the right to enjoy it, even if for a short amount of time. But one day! That simply wasn't fair.

But then, it's not very fair to be an orphan, is it?

This was how the pro and con list was playing out in her mind, each new thought falling into the appropriate column as she stood there in silence.

Finally, she shot Jasmine a glance. "Look... just... I mean don't hold your breath... but... just let me talk to Turan, okay?"

::Jasmine, slightly stunned by the thought process playing out in front of her, only blinked, gathering Tannia had gathered the wrong end of the stick just now as she raised a brow::

Well... I wouldn't expect you to spend more time than maybe a few hours a day to teach her some things, keep her company...

::And the process hit another avenue as Jasmine suddenly nodded:: Unless you and Turan are planning on a little time yourselves... ::She laughed, shaking her head to try and dispell the idea:: I dare say it'll be a little while before she's up and about and able to take classes or anything, at least a season or two...

Whu' aboud a mumma? ::Faith interjected again, trying to bring it back to the most important fact::

::Jasmine scratched her head there... although she wouldn't admit it out loud, she already looked after a good deal of beasts whenever injured, plus Faith, barely having any time for the vixen to further get her up and walking again at this rate... she couldn't imagine what would happen if she tried to juggle a ball of bunny baby into the mix as well...::

Well... we just have to see who else could take her for a bit... not Tannia... I'd dread what Whisper would teach her... probably try throwing her from the abbey roof to see if she could fly... ::She shuddered, running down a mental list...::

...Rosa would have FAR too much trouble with three... ::Three? Where did that number come from?::
PostPosted: Tue Feb 28, 2006 12:05 pm

Tannia listened to this quietly, letting Jasmine go through all the different candidates to raise the bunny. She felt an inevitable end of choices coming to Jasmine soon, at which point Tannia knew she would offer herself again, as kind as Jasmine was trying to be by not dropping it upon her.

Even as Tannia was listening to Jasmine list off all the creatures that were already mothers, she was warming up to the idea. She didn't say so out loud, but simply watched the vixen as she drew up a name and discarded it with a second thought.

Then she came upon Rosa. "What do you mean three? She only has the one," Tannia said with a laugh, shaking her head. "Getting a little ahead of yourself there."

::Jasmine stopped instantly in her tracks, NOT choosing to turn back and look at Tannia there for that particular moment in time, her ears on absolute peak there, frozen for a moment, before quickly coughing to clear her throat, and then calmly replacing her paws behind her back::

Yes... well... regardless... Rosa still has her own to watch... that's... enough burden by itself...

I know something I not 'upposed ta.... ::Faith followed in a little sing-song voice, giggling, as she looked to the little bunny in arms, turning attention back to it:: Everybeas' fine out soon mumma....

::Jasmine grumbled something irritable beneath her breath, finally turning back to Tannia with a roll of the eyes and a sigh:: Rosa's pregant.

Again. ::And pointedly, she raised her arm:: And Shune, Castor doesn't know yet, so we have to all keep this a secret from him, alright?

::And then, turning back to Tannia...:: ...Antoine, newborn and little Tracy... makes three... ::She laughed nervously as she explained herself, then coughed to clear her throat again before progressing onwards::

So... any more ideas?
PostPosted: Fri Mar 10, 2006 11:34 am

Shune was still sitting over on the counter, the cup of water held in her paws. She had been listening carefully to this whole conversation, and when they started talking about Rosa, she got especially interested. When Jasmine said Rosa was pregnant, a look of pure excitement crossed the small otter's features. She gasped with delight, then nodded enthusiastically. "'Kay, I keep'a secret!" Shune could be trusted with secrets, she was already learning the rules of being discreet in the healing business.

Tannia turned and looked at Shune, raising her eyebrows a bit. She sent Jasmine a somewhat skeptical look, as if surprised the fox would trust a Dibbun with such a hefty secret, especially Castor's own sister. Obviously Tannia did not know Shune that well. Shrugging a bit, she returned her attention to the other matter at hand.

"It's getting rather late," she said, indicating the dark sky out the window. "Perhaps this decision is better left until the morning, it'll be easier to think then. I'm sure she will be fine here for one night... she seems calm enough..." She looked at the bunny for a few moments, then nodded to Jasmine. "Well, I'll say good night now," she said, before she turned and left the infirmary.

((Hope I won't be bothering anyone if I do a little FF here....))

~~~~~~~
Jamie and Maddox had never returned after dinner. The small kitten had been very tired, and had wanted to have a night's rest and hold off the more in-depth examination by Jasmine that was awaiting him. Jamie had agreed, without consulting Jasmine, and let the kitten go off to sleep. If the infirmary vixen had any qualms over it, she'd have to take it up with the young hare in the morning.
It was now very late into that same night, almost all of Redwall was deep asleep. It was at this time three mischief-makers crept silently into the infirmary. Not the usual suspects...
The door slid quietly open and a few figures snuck into the thick darkness of the room. There was a muffled rapping sound followed by a hushed "Ouch!" This was quickly followed by another hushed voice, saying "Shh... hold on one second..."
About a minute later a small bit of light flared from a candle on the wall near the door, throwing a dim light and long shadows into the infirmary. The light revealed the three rogues. Two female hares: Tannia, (rubbing her knee and wincing) and her cousin Sasha. By the candle holding a pinewood lighting stick was Turan, gently blowing out the stick and looking about the dimly illuminated room.
Tannia, apparently relieved of whatever injury she'd inflicted upon herself, beckoned the two across the room near the corner, where a small crib held the abbey's newly arrived bunny.
Before either Tannia or Sasha could take a turn, Turan had reached his arms over and gently picked up the slumbering babe. The bunny squirmed a bit, and woke up slowly, blinking and looking around at the others. She didn't cry or seem overly perturbed, just looked curiously about in the darkness.
Tannia seemed a little nervous, already appearing ready to let the Dibbun go back to sleep and be on her way. She glanced agitatedly towards the door, then back at Turan.
However, Turan didn't seem at all in a hurry. He looked down at the quiet, round-eyed little bunny, reaching out to tickle it just under the chin. He too was witness to the completely silent reaction, with the playful grin and squirming, with the dimples popping into her cheeks, but no sound.
Tannia seemed to relax, not worrying so much. Now she just stood there off to the side, watching Turan with her head tilted a bit, deep in thought.
What are you doing?
::The voice was like the babe's disposition, quiet, almost nary a sound, giving no indication of the mood, neither curious nor angry sounding, as beneath the dim light of candle, two eyes gleamed like beetles caraces, watching all three figures, as they about turned in mid-air, twisting around each other, and by then it should have been obvious, as Kusaa's claws clicked upon the floor, and the bat came forward, into the light, away from the sleeping Faith's bedside::
::She watched them, but if she suspected anything or wondered at all what they were doing, her monotonous voice gave very little away::
Yupyupyup!!! You're all supposseda be in bed!! ::Another winged little creature suddenly swung down from the ceiling, hanging upside down with a giggle, as a squirm came from Faith's bed now, a murmur and a slow, quiet monologue was being spoken under her breath to a squirrel who wasn't actually there... if they didn't clamp Gem soon, she'd spoil their little midnight visit when she woke up Faith, and Faith woke up Jasmine!!::
Woops, Tannia had forgotten that there were a few members of the Abbey that were active in the night hours. She winced as she heard Kusaa's voice in the darkness. "Shh.. do-"
But before she could complete her sentence, another voice piped up, loud and startling, making Tannia wince even more. She shot a nervous glance in Faith's direction. Seeing that the fox Dibbun was still sleeping she relaxed a little. "You two," she said in a really soft voice. "Please stay quiet... we just wanted to come up and see the bunny. It's okay. We know it's late... but just keep quiet all right?"
Realizing how Tannia worded it might've been a tad suspicious, Turan added, "Don't worry, we're not doing anything wrong. You can tell her in the morning if you'd like, and she can speak with us. But right now, shh, everyone needs their sleep, don't wake them."
He beckoned the two bats over. "Have you already seen her?"
Still no 'scuse bein' up this late, yup!!
::Gem nodded sagely, while Kusaa just watched her for a minute, before looking to the others, by Gem's reduced volume of voice, and Kusaa's silence, safe be said that they both agreed for whatever reasons, as Gem let her fluttering wings carry her above, and Kusaa came forward, trying to slow her pace from letting her claws create a noise upon the stonework floors::
She's very curious. ::Kusaa admitted, tilting her head a little, not showing much enthusiasm, nor disgust or anything else particularly, eyes studiously watching and doing nothing more, but that was just her::
::Gem however, managed to find a perch, flopping herself over Turans' head and poking slowly over him, holding onto his ears for safety as she looked down at the little bunny with a snicker:: She no' curious, silly!! ::She snickered away:: She's kyood!
::She giggled away, positively bounding with energy on top of Turan now::
Why was it imperative you came this late to see the little one? ::Kusaa asked, steering away from the matter of the little rabbit towards Tannia and Sasha now::
PostPosted: Wed Mar 22, 2006 3:36 pm
"Why do you say she is curious?" Turan queried, glancing over at Kusaa.
He smiled, looking up a bit to see Gem peeking out from the top of his head. "Hi there Gem. I do agree with you, she's a very pretty little thing." He had turned the bunny, setting her in the crook of his right arm, looking her over again with a smile. The bunny was now fully awake, reaching out to grab hold of Turan's paw every time it strayed near, which seemed to delight and amuse the young warrior to no end.
Tannia watched him for a few moments, shaking her head a little. What a sucker he was! When Kusaa's odd, monotonous tone cut through the darkness again, she shivered a little, turning a somewhat impatient look to the bat. She didn't, never had and probably never would ever feel obligated to answer to Kusaa. It was none of the bat's business.
"We felt like it, all right?" She replied haughtily, crossing her arms before her, suddenly feeling cold in the dark room.
Awwww... leave 'em alone Kusaa.... ::The little bat reinforced with the hares as she clung on, before looking down at the rabbit, wings with a quick flutter to them as she giggled:: No one needsa reason ta wanna see 'er!!
She's so kyood!!
::Kusaa only held silent for a few moments, a very awkward looking expression that usually ended up spouting itself in one of her more downcrescened moments, before she looked to Turan and the little one::
Forgive me if I sound unintelligible in these affairs, but all three of you felt like coming here, in the middle of the night, when even Jasmine goes to sleep for rest?
::She never quite answered what was so curious about the rabbit, but at the least, they could excuse her comment from being snide, to being just another of those moments where she found herself far outside the social circles...::
::It was hard to tell which was usually worse...::
PostPosted: Wed Mar 22, 2006 4:05 pm
A look of disbelief crossed Tannia's face for a moment, incensed that Kusaa had the gall to turn and almost reiterate her question to Turan, just because apparently Tannia's answer wasn't good enough. She was about to comment on it, but she realized Turan was going to answer. She backed away a few paces so she could slowly sit herself into a chair, putting a paw to her temple as if her head was ailing her.
"Well Kusaa, I only just learned of her right before I came and I was curious to see her. Perhaps it was a little rash to decide to come in the middle of the night, but I really wanted to see her and didn't want to wait until morning. You see-"
Tannia had sank back into the chair, falling completely silent as she listened to Turan's soft-spoken explanation. She held her paws in her lap, wringing them nervously, already knowing what Turan would say next...
"-I heard she had no parents and I was thinking Tannia and I would take care of her."
Tannia looked down for a moment, blinking. She had almost tried to make herself believe that when she told Turan he would talk her out of it, tell her it was too early. However, in all honesty, she had really known what Turan would say, what he would do. He was too kind, too rational, too... responsible. But right. He was also right. And she had agreed, not yet verbally, because speaking it made it so final, so decisive and she wasn't ready to be decisive yet. However, hearing Turan say it aloud was something... She noticed how he had added "thinking" for her benefit. There was to be no thinking involved in the matter, she knew, but it was considerate of him anyhow.
I'm sure Jasmine will be delighted to hear the news. ::At least Kusaa attempted a smile when she spoke, but on the downside, her smile, filled with fangs, more resembled something worthy of a shudder as she did so::
She'll be lucky to-
You haveta all go soon! ::Gem suddenly piped up, a little more energetically than usual as she cut off Kusaa::
::Kusaa quickly shot the smaller bat a hardened look:: They have the same right to stay here as long as we would, Gem... ::But the way her words rolled off her tongue, unlike her, as if she was trying to get the bat to take a point...::
::...what WERE they doing in the infirmary of all places...?::
