She glares at him and does what he asks, of course she's a little winded once she is through. She really hasn't had much exercise except for gardening since she has arrived in Kero's realm.
"Dang, I'm really out of shape," she groans rolling over to her back. "Ye got a treadmill around here?"

*Kero smiles at her...and goes over to a cabinet...pulling out a small Gi and handing it to her, along with a larger one...and a black belt, which he ties around his waist*

She looks at him as though he is crazy. "Yer kidding... right?" she asks in a small voice. "Uncle Kero... I've never done anything like this before." She looks at him and then at the gi in her hands and sighs... "Do I just pull it on over me clothes or shall I go change?"

Shia goes to change and comes backing looking... well somewhat presentable. She has tied back her hair and looking rather uncomfortable. "Uncle Kero... you didn't give me any shoes." she moans.

When you are studying, you don't wear or need them...the mat will break your falls and cushion your feet...*Kero points to a mat that he willed into existence*...Now, when you approach that mat, or me, you bow, showing respect...understood?

"I bow?" she echoes in confusion, then she faces the mat and does a presentable curtsey which sends Rhea into a fit of stifled giggles. SHia glares at her and turns to Kerobian. "I take it, I did something wrong?"

*Kero points to the closet, and Rhea groans...while her three kids dart inside, robing themselves*
Complain not, apprentice...you've fallen down on yer training! *Turns to Shia* When you are studying the martial arts, you bow like this...*Stands, facing her, and bends at the waist, seeming to look down, but keeping his eyes on her at all times, then striaghtens*...this signifies that you respect someone...but do not trust them...and that is how we bow...now, when you bow, you face the one you are bowing to...if it is me, you face me...when you bow to the mat, which you do to respect it for breaking yer falls, you walk up to the edge, then bow, okay...and both male and female bow like that...don't worry...that's the strictest it will be for a while...not until you reach blue do I really get tough...

Very good...we'll work on it more later...now, I want you to follow me onto the mat...and we'll begin.
*He gently leads her onto the mat, instructing her in the proper sequence required to begin a class...*
Now, we'll start with stretches...left leg out...grab your foot, and try to put your head on your knee...
*When Shia looks at him, he is doing this...and she recieves a shock...as he has reverted to his true human form to do this...brown haired and brown-eyed, and nowhere near as flexible as she expected...his head is only barely on his knee*

Well, she may be out of shape bu flexibility is something Shia has as Lyssan has had all her kids in dance classes at some point or another. With a grin Shia follows easily through the stretches, but makes certain that she doesn't out do her instructor. One should never show off before a teacher, at least not on the first day. It only means harder work when you least expect it and this is something Shia has learned from watching Amestru teach kendo to her brothers.

Shia...don't hold back...I'm gauging what you can and cannot do...so that I don't try to teach you something too advanced for your body, and so I can make fair expectations....don't worry if you are better than me...flexibility was never my strong poin...OUCH!
*The sudden outcry comes from Rhea pouncing on his back and pressing his head to the floor, his legs spread wide open*

SHia's eyes widen with barely suppressed sympathy but she doesn't say a word, knowing that her guardian would only be embarrassed if she did. Instead she finishes off her stretches with several others she has learned over the years,then using the side of his desk as a bar she raises her leg up almost to her shoulder and holding it in place for a few moments on each side. She gives herself a good shake, bends backwards into a perfect arch and walks over. "I'm going to feel that in the morning." she announces with a grin. "I'm amazed I can still do it... maybe I haven't gotten that far out of shape after all." Of course, that was until Kero started putting her through a set of controlled movements.

Shia soon gets bored, though she tries her best not to show it. Repetition has never been her strong point. She didni't mind doing a routine repeatedly as long as it had a variety of movement, but the simple movement of the kata even though she is trying her hardest to do it right, is putting her to sleep on her feet.
