Ai flashes him a wan smile and then turns to Shar. "So everyone has left us, huh... I'm almost happy about that... I loved the company, but it went on and on and on... Kind of hard to hink when everyone keeps coming at you from all sides wanting something or doing their best to distract you. So why are you here, if you have driven them all home with your well meaning suggestions."
Shar smiles fondly at her. "Because, Lady Love... you were in no shape to mend your screens and Kero here had little or nothing up by way of them either. And,it's been far quieter here over the last few days than it's been up the hill. Still, if I have your word that you two will do so immediately, I will vacate the premises post haste."
"I wasn't chasing you off..." cries Ai in alarm.

Shar chuckles. "I actually have an ulterior motive for leaving. Tonight is soup night on the hill and I don't want to miss it. Maya's soups are delightful, though Mica tends to think of them as slop. Poor dear, she's been trying for years to come up with a soup he'll eat without some comment or another."

*Kero smiles, going into his room and slipping Shar a recipe*
Give this to her...tell her to combine our two recipes, and we shall see what the old goat thinks of that!

She looks down at the recipe and reads the title. "Uncle Bob's restorative broth.' Puzzled she looks back up and shakes her head. "What kind of soup is that?"
"One that is heavily meat based..." laughs Ai. "Br. Bob never looked a vegetable in the eye that he did not love... and since he loved them so much, he decided they needed to live out their lives on the vines or whatever sort of plant they came from. A tru carnivore if every there was one."

*Kero nods*
Tell her to mince whatever veggies she has extremely fine and to stew them until they dissolve. Then make this broth with the veggie broth. Guarantee he'll sing praises to it.

Shar shrugs and tucks the recipe into her sleeve. "I'll tell her. By now she's about ready to try anything. Is there anything you two need. If not, I'll come down with Corby in the morning to check on you, Ai, while he gets his lesson in. What with the sickness which laid the compound low, he's been chafing at the bit to get back to his schedule."
Ai looks about and shrugs. "We should have enough left overs in the ice house to keep us going for some time. So I think we're fine. Kero?"

Shar gathers her things, gives them both a hug and is gone before either one can think of a reason to ask her to stay, leaving them alone in the cottage for the first time since Kero's warp.

She chuckles and waits expectantly. Ai has something in common with Shar. She loves soup. "How did you make it so fast?" she asks in confusion. "I though that broth took all day to make."

Ai sighs. "Someday I may have to teach you what the word simmer means, Kerobian. Still it smells delicious. And if you can pour me a bit of that tea Shar left sitting on the stove. We should probably drink it before it gets too strong."
