Tam sighs. "He's used it on me... but I can't remember what it was he called it. Truth is guys, I've read all I could about Kero, here, but I really haven't done much research on the other gem children. Not much written anyway to go to."
He begins to unwrap the fish and remembers the herbs. He tosses the packets to Kero and smiles. Can't harvet out back anymore, sorry. So I got you these instead. Why don't we stuff and grill them out back?"

*Kero is already on it, and Hopian pulls Tam aside to explain*
Okay...here's the deal, Kero's venom is the opposite of mine...my main venom is serotoxin...pain venom...just as his venom numbs in small amounts and knocks out in large amounts, mine stumulates, much like caffeine, in small doses...and causes wracking pains in large amounts...our venoms are also the antidote to each other...with me so far?

Tam nods. "I remember now. Ye gave it to me to counteract Kero's when he accidentally got me with his stinger. I knew it was something along that line. So basically he's wired right now. Well, that explains the trip wire. He's chafing at the bit, looking for something to do... and with him grounded he's gonna be getting on my case." he snorts softly and shakes his head. "I don't know whether or not I should thank you or wring yer neck."

*Hopian chuckles*
I wouldn't advise it...my other two glands are online as well...Dermotoxin, and cardiotoxin, thank you very much...flesh destroyer...and heart killer...
Trust me...don't tangle with me...

Tam makes a face and shrugs. "That's provided ye can catch me once I start running. I make no bones about it... when it comes to making a hasty retreat... there's nothing like a bard for speed. How else can we live to tell the tales we do? Ye ever wonder about that? We're there... at all the main battles... even those where our side loses and yet by some odd intervention we survive to tell the tale." he gives Hopian a saucy wink and laughs. "We train for it with ever farmer we meet. Tip their daughters and skedaddle... best training program to be devised under the heavens."

*Hopian laughs, then sniffs*
I believe it is time to light the old grill, Talesian...past time....Kero's getting fancy...

Tam nods and goes outside, where he soon has a nice fire going in the pit. Over it he hangs a metal grate, suspended by chains between four stakes. With careful maneuvering it can be raised and lowered depending on how intense you want your cooking fire. He peeks into the kitchen and asks. "Are we searing, basting and broiling or just smoking it, kiddo?"

*Kero looks at him*
Quick sear, then baste and cook over low heat...I have a sauce right here for you to baste with...the fish has a crusty rub on it...so sear first to get that nice and crisp...then cook till it's ready.

Tam nods then has Hopian help him drop the grate until it hovers just over the fire. "There, he says with a grin... that should do it. I'll call ye when i need to fetch it back up, but it won't take long, so ye might want to just sit out here and enjoy the evening with me."
The evening breeze is cool and refreshing after the heat of the day and now that the sun is no longer baking the garden and low on the horizon, it is actually quite nice behind the house, even with a fire going in the pit.

*Kero comes out, flaring the fire with his power after placing the fish on the grate....he has Tam and Hopian raise it while he lowers the flame once the fish is seared, leaving Tam the job of basting and flipping while he goes back inside to make a dipping sauce*

Tam dutifully follows instructions except for the time when Hopian decides to freak him out mid flip and he sends one of the fish straight into the fire. But a quick mental grab saves the day with nothing to waste.

Tam chuckles heartily. Seems someone still has a memory or two of his adult life, because that spell seems to be based on one of his mother's inventions.

Shaking his head, he tests the fish and sees that they are finally done. Calling in for a platter, he begins to move the fish away from the heat. The smell of the fish is making his stomach embrace his backbone, it smells so delicious.
