i spent about 6 years in champaign... i know the fields.
it's funny, just moving to iowa, the land is so much more, well, not flat. if it weren't for the occasional tree or farmhouse in illinois, i swear you'd see the curve of the earth.

There are still hills at least...from what I've heard some of the states like kansas are truely flatter than a pancake....

There ya go, things would get lost more frequently, plus it would defy a good chuck of the laws of physics and all that scientific mumbo jumbo on top of everything. I rather perfer just having to go the extra distance on occasion to everything disapearing, or ending up in volcano's or half a dozen other oddities.
