Tes' ears are still ringing. The crystals in the chamber seemed to have amplified Nimbus' cry and now she's not so sure she wants to sleep in there. One more burst like that and her head might just explode.
"Why don't we move to the other room?" she suggests, her eyes laughing but squinting in pain, once the ringing dims to a dull roar. "Your pretty room is your special room, Luna... you really should just keep it for you and you along. Don't you agree, Kero?"

Kero nods, smiling at his little daughter and hugging his wife and son.
"I do agree. Luna, from now on, this is your special room. Noboidy can come in here unless you say so. Now let's all go back out to the main room, give Nimbus there a bite to eat, and get some sleep."

She looks about the cavern and sighs. She liked the idea of having a special place all to herself, but she had also enjoyed sharing her cave with the others as well. Still she had to admit, her ears had rang too as Nimbus yelled. Maybe her Mommy had a good idea after all.

Chuckling, Kero picks her up and carries her out of the crystal room, letting her see them as he carries her over his shoulder, gently rubbing her back to soothe her back into slumber once more. Setting her onto a cushion in the main room of the cavern, he starts to hum an old lullaby and, as Tesability begins feeding Nimbus his midnight snack, for midnight it is, he begins to sing to his little daughter, filling the caverns with a warm tenor he hasn't used in some time, though it is still as loving and beautiful as Tes remembers.
"Sleep my child and peace attend thee,
All through the night
Guardian angels God will send thee,
All through the night
Soft the drowsy hours are creeping
Hill and vale in slumber steeping,
I my loving vigil keeping
All through the night.
While the moon her watch is keeping
All through the night
While the weary world is sleeping
All through the night
O'er thy spirit gently stealing
Visions of delight revealing
Breathes a pure and holy feeling
All through the night."
Soon, his song is finished, and both Luna and Nimbus are sound asleep. As Tes places the little one into his sling, and begins to rock him, Kero comes up behind her and gently lays her down on a pallet as well, singing her a little love song, one that speaks of Singing Sunlight and Dancing Shadows. Only this time, he substitutes himself for Shadowdancer, and Tes for Sunsinger, for in a way, that song seemed tailor fit for the two of them. And he ends it differently too, telling of how she finally had enraptured him, and eventually tamed him and claimed his heart for her own.

Tes hugs him close and kisses his cheek. "You always were such a dear, when you put your mind to it... probably why I was so determined to tame you... and why I love you so very very much. But let's get some rest, shall we? Tomorrow, I want Luna to show us about her lagoon."

Laying down next to her, Kero gathers her into his arms, letting her fall asleep to the sound of his heartbeat. The next Morning...

The next morning he wakes up near dawn. Tes and Nimbus are both there, sound asleep, Nimbus in his sling and Tes curled up beside him, but no Luna.

Kero starts to panic, but then remembers that they are in no danger here in the swamp. Calmly, he occludes the world, and flares his mind out to search for his wayward daughter...promising himself he will remind her of the rule that she tell Daddy or Mommy where she is going.

She's taking care of business, something she has never had to tell him about for some time now, so he starts to go back to sleep when he see her take to the air and fly downn to the water.

Immediately, he sets his vision on her, zooming in so as to see exactly what she is doing, though he has an inkling as to what she is aiming for...a certain smaller relative of his masters came to mind.

She seems to be washing her feet, something he has always insisted upon whenever she relieved herself, but in a rather odd spot... quite close to where she had seen the snake the day beofre.

Watching closely, Kero examines the area around, checking for the snake. He has an idea what his little girl is going to pull, and he wanted to see if her Ambush would get her hurt or not.

Luna sticks around the water overly long, washing her feet so carefully, Kero almost laughs outloud. She is clearly stalling, hoping for something. Then she takes to the air and does a quick fly over of the area before returning to the caves, disappointment showing in every line of her body.
**You really didn't think the snake would return so soon, not with his log half destroyed. His memory might not be long, but it's not that short either. Of course she doesn't know this, and her efforts to catch him were with hunting in mind, but him not being there was a lesson in the art none the same. Most animals imediately avoid the areas they've been attacked in, though they might return later if things seem peaceful enough. Something she needs to know if she's ever to survive on her own hunting skills.**

When she returns to the caves, Luna finds Kero waiting for her, a stern look on his face as he points to a chair. Universal for "Sit down, because we need to have a talk."

She immediately trots over to the chair and hops up to it, turning to face him with a hopeful grin.
"Yesh, Daddy?" she asks, all innocent like.
**poor kid... most youngsters growing up don't have a father who can watch their every movement... lol**
