Tam shakes his head and reaching out he touches a delicate blossom, a soft dusty blue bell, and shakes his head. Coming from him the scolding the cub was getting would not mean the same, perhaps because he would not know where to begin with it.

He begins to weed out tiny bits of grass and removing other bits of debris that Bez has missed, listening to the two go at it in the cottage, grateful for the privacy the garden allowed him, wondering why Kerobian's words troubled him so.

Tam looks up with a twisted grin. "Well... " he asks hopefully, wondering what the cub wanted.

Tam is kneeling on the ground and when the cat begins to beg, he merely reaches around behind him, pulls him around to his front and sits back on his heels, scratching his ears. he gently pu8lls on one teasingly. 'Nope... still there... I see he didn't burn them off... got him mad, didn't ye?"

Sighing, realizing the cub will not let him be until he did it, Tam begins to rub his belly, causing the cub to purr loudly in response.

Tam was already half expecting something along that line, just not put quite so bluntly. He sits down cross legged in the grass and smiles a twisted grin. "What is love, Kerobian?"

Tam smiles and pulls the cub onto his lap. "Nicely done, little one, but love is different for adults or should I say it is expressed differently. As they grow older most people begin to look for mates, someone they can share that feeling with exclusively. They find one and settle down, get married have kids, who in turn do the same as they grow up. It is what your parents did and the parents of your friends. To do so they look to the opposite sex. Men look to women and women to men. It is a thing of nature that most people find difficult to deny. But sometimes one finds that mate in beings more akin to themselves than one they can procreate with. Those individuals are called homosexuals, as opposed to heterosexual... with homo meaning like self and hetero meaning opposite. Am I clear so far?"

Tam chuckles bitterly. "No I'm not..." he quips in a rueful jest. "I can see that clearly in your eyes. What did I say that confuses you, Taro?"

Tam sighs. "You may not be old enough, Taro, but Hopian and I are." then he gives him a hug and sets him back on the ground with a small frown. "As for why do people see it as something that is bad, it is because they fear it. They don't understand how it can be possible that another man or another woman might find attraction in one of their own kind over than of the opposite sex. Some fear it so much as to brand the act evil and shameful. It is necessary for a race to procreate, to make ore of it's kind to continue to exist, and to those who are doing so, seeing someone who is not can also seem as though that person does not wish for his people to survive. All in all, they fear that if everyone did so a thing, their people would disappear in the dust of time. They forget that if those of us who doo..." Tam stammers to a halt and sighs even harder. "They forget that those who do feel that emotional bond with one of their own sex are few in number... far fewer than even those of them who choose to have no young at all."
