I'm going to make ice cream this weekend for Valentine's Day 'cause it's all romantical and cooking is fun. Anyone ever made ice cream before and have advice for me? I don't have an ice cream machine ^.^;
I'm going to make sea salt ice cream and red bean (azuki) ice cream.

Well, Penny... It doesn't look like it's too complicated, it's just very time consuming if you don't have an ice cream machine. I haven't done it yet, though, so I might be wrong >.<
I'll tell you all how it goes. My Japanese teacher like azuki ice cream, so I told her I'd bring her some after I made it so she can try it. Hopefully it comes out alright ^.^;

*appears from the shadows with a ninja-save-the-day-tip*
you can use 2 coffee cans that fit in side of each other...
you'll just have to keep rolling it....
also, if you live somewhere with snow, you can make snow ice-cream!! (Make sure its fresh of course)

I'm sorry I can't share my ice cream with you guys, but I can give you the recipes if they come out well. Now to go down and check the kitchen to see what I have to work with. Stupid dorm kitchens sweatdrop
Lobo is decently well! =D

(Make sure its fresh of course) ninja Alternatively, you can put the ingredients into a ziploc bag and put that bag inside a larger one with the ice and salt. Also, the finer the salt you use with the ice, the colder you will get the ice cream and the better your results will be.

Thanks for the advice, guys. I might have to try the coffee can thing next time if I can actually find some around the house. A lot of you know how dorm life can be xp
Well, the ice cream was a success. It took several hours to make with the method I used, but it was mostly just waiting on it to freeze. It's about the consistency of soft serve right now, but maybe it'll be more solid by the morning. As long as it stays a nice consistency... sweatdrop My girlfriend liked the sea salt ice cream I made. Yay! And the red bean ice cream turned out well, even though I messed up a bit making it. Some people that tried it loved it, a couple didn't like it, and one girl's head exploded because she couldn't decide what to think of it >.< I'm gonna have to do this again sometime! (Now I sleep...)

I've got a lovely bunch of coconuts. There they are a'standing in a row!I wish my arms would stop itching. That'd be nice. "Give them a twist, a flick of the wrist!" That's what the showman said!

You'll swoop from incredible highs when you're just glad to be alive, to those lows when you wish you were dead. And just when you start thinking that you've accepted who you are, that changes, too. ninja
I think I did horribly on my archaeology exam today! biggrin Ah well. I'll live, I suppose.
Happy Valentine's Day, ATG. I love you all. <3 Because who you are is not permanent.
