Suddenly an ear piercing scream slices through the air, catching his attention immediately. Looking back in the direction of Luna, he sees her hovering over a weedy bit of shoreline, sucking on one of her fore feet, scanning the surface of the water angrily. Already several fish are floating on the surface as the acid in her bile stuns them and cuts off their oxygen. She is angry and frustrated, immensely so, and it shows in every line of her being. The edge of partially sunken sun drenched log is steaming and slowly being eaten away nearby.


(Luna has learned ye don't fool with snakes... especially sleeping snakes... nonpoisonous, don't worry... but now she's determines to catch the dang thing. And her acid was her first attack, done quite on instinct without thinking... trouble is, she missed and now she's a bit pissed.... Now, does Kero intervene and stop her, that acid of hers won't necessarily foul the swampy lagoon too badly, but they will end up with a surplus of fish for dinner and a certain cat fish might object to his home being a bit irritating on the skin... or does he continue to watch her bumbling efforts at hunting, to see what she does next?)

Luna doesn't answer him. Catching that snake is very very important to her right now. Still nursing her paw, she hovers in place, staring intently at the weeds, suddenly she dives in an attack mode, silent and deadly. Looking down, Kero sees a constrictor, non-poisonous, but clearly three times her size. Before he can react, she latches onto it with her back paws, just behind the head and tries to fly up into the air, but the snake is clearly too large for her to handle. Right now it is a draw and she is forced to drop it.

Freed, it dives for the cover of the weedy shore with her fast on it's non-existent heels.

"Come bawk hewr, you meanie...." she hisses angrily as she tries to head it off.

Sighing, realizing that there is no way his brave little daughter is going to be able to handle that snake, Kero calls to her again.

"Luna, leave it be."

"No..." she calls back. "It bite me..... I wanna eats it."

Luna sulkily helps by snatching up those fish she's inadvertantly killed with her acid, but her eyes keep flicking back to where the snake had gone to ground. Fortunately she drops her share nearby and not on Kero's growing cache, for her mind is clearly elsewhere and she's not being very picky about what she drops there. This allows him to sort through them, picking out those which are still edible by his and Tessie's standards, leaving the rest for LUna to munch on at her leisure. As her acid attack is one of her prime weapons, he knows it won't hurt her to ingest some. But surprisingly, very few of the fish are beyond redemption. Most of the acid has been diluted by the water of the lagoon to the point it merely makes it easier to get the secretions off the skin of the fish in question.

"Soneone needs to learn how to direct that attack of hers." comes a bubbly grumble from the water as he goes to rinse off a few of her offerings.

"Perhaps you should move to the cave... use her underwater bolt hole. The water there is no doubt cleaner." suggests Kero without looking up.

The catfish snorts softly, though coming from a fish the sound is entirely something different than one would think. "Perhaps I will... good thing I don't need to see where I'm going, to manuveur it. That route is a dark as her skin, it is. How does she even find her way through it?"

Kero thinks for a bit and shakes her head. "Ye know, I don't rightly know. She's never had to do so. Luciel cut it for her... dang, I wonder if he forgot she can't see in the dark. I've never taken it myself... and she can't breathe under water either."

She giggles and pulls free. "I no baby.... NImbu ish...." she declares laughingly. She flies up to Kero's head and land on his shoulder, nibbling gently on his ear. "I go fiwshin, too... see?"

"Wiwsh I gots funny fiwsh... it mean...." she grumbles showing him the punctures on her foot, two neat bite marks. "It fawsh too... wike wightnin....."

The bite is a clean attack, no tears. A quick n** and release. Obviously the snake had been more intent on getting away, than it had been on dining. It is also quite clean. Luna's acid, from when she had been sucking on it, has cleaned it quite thoroughly. It was a good thing she was immune to her own acid, or that could have been a problem. Something told him he had better give her a few lessons on when and how to use her acid and when to not to rely on it, really soon. He didn't know how long the stuff remained in her mouth, once she had used the attack. Clearly not all that long as his ears were still attached to his body, but if she sttacked something to protect her little brother (which he could easily see her do) then turned around and licked him or tried to show affection by nibbling on him as she often did with her Daddy, Nimbus could easily be injured inadvertantly by the very one who was trying to help him out.

"Why sssssnake noff tewl me nots to eat?" asks Luna out of curiosity as they enter the cavern.

"Snake?" echoes Tes from where she is sitting examining a few of Luna's gathered treasures, pretty pebbles and crystal shards. NImbus is sleeping on a pillow beside her, a soft glowing ball of light floating above her head.

"I gots bite, Mommy.... see!!!" cries Luna running over to her side to show her her injury.

Tes can see that it is really not that big of an injury, but makes sympathetic sounds over it anyway, kissing it lightly. "My, so you did. I take it, you got him a little mad, huh?"

Luna nods sadly. "Daddy says I no eats it, tho... says weave it awone..."

Tes chuckles softly. "Might be a good idea, until you are a bit bigger, sweetie. What kind was it, love of my life?" she asks looking back at Kerobian. "Anything we should worry about?"
