Curse my lack of interest in Anime... Kitsune masks didn't originate from anime. They are a part of japanese culture and folklore. Kitsune masks symbolize the messanger (The trickster fox) of Oinari, the god of rice, and are often worn during japanese festivals.

I don't know much about Oriental customs or history either.
's kinda sad actually since I'm all interested in history and such.
