"Most things, really!"
Charlie brightened up,
"Music, puns, walks through autumn forests of golden leaves, popcorn..."

"An unavoidable fact of my being,"
Charlie settled in to Gigi's nuzzle, idly braiding a few of her ribbons together,
"Though I was born a mortal man, the destiny of my soul reaches further than that. I was before I was born and I am after I died. I continue to be, because I am needed. I will be needed until I and my three compatriots have ushered the last soul from this plane. Which means someday, I will have said good-bye for the last time to everyone I have known and loved. I've already said good-bye to so many. I suppose when I sing, it is impossible to ignore what is to come. Though most of the time I'd rather laugh and be merry."
He tugged gently on one of Gigi's bows, grinning. Sadness didn't sit well on Charlie.

Lady Luck Anon (Ya know, this Lady can' really remember what the exact reasonin' was behin' the bunny. I 'ad the message 'efore the avi, may've been somethin' to do with the dice in the ears. Then bunny feet're considered good luck an' 'efore I knew it, there was a bunny.) OoC: So the character sort of made herself?

If I knew, I think we would both have a few in hand.
He hadn't been solid, but he could see what her intent was. With as much quickness as he was able, he made himself solid for the hug. "Thank you, my dear."
((Heh, it does make for amusing imagery. )) Seeing Charlie brighten up put Tobias more at ease as he nodded listening. One hated to see the other down and not have any way to be of help. "I see, and am pleased to know many things make you smile. A walk in an autumn forest sounds lovely, poetic even. I am sure your smile outshines even the brightest of hues in such a forest. May I pose you a question further and ask what makes you laugh?"

He tugged gently on one of Gigi's bows, grinning. Sadness didn't sit well on Charlie. *starts to purr listening to him as he braids some of the ribbons* T-to have to always be the one left after, no wonder sadness makes a home in your soul. *blushes a bit as a bow is tugged and smiles up at him* B-but I'm glad there is still room for joy too. O-oh, have you gone and done the thing to keep your current body? I-I don't want you to have to suffer again. *snuggles against him*

"Makes me laugh?"
Charlie stroked his chin, thoughtful, although a blush crept into his ears turning them red. Tobias's comment about smiles had not missed the mark,
"The usual things I suppose, jokes, romantic comedies, Monster's antics..."
(Exasperating Sweet Freak, annoying Lyth...getting Kate to roll her eyes. It's a wonder anyone likes Charming really...)

"True immortality is a heavy mantel to wear, even just a long life can be very lonely towards the end. That doesn't mean there isn't room for happiness and joy, in fact I value them more now than if I had only lived 67 years."
He smiled down at her,
"Do not fret on my account. Autumn is my time of renewal, but I have a plan to never need to do so again."

Tobias just smiled at the blush, and couldn't help a chuckle at the last thing listed. "I suppose that was not the most difficult of questions, but I wanted to know none the less. My guess is you have an infectious laugh. A pity I can think of no joke to find out right now." Shaking his head, he clicked his tongue as if chastising himself for not thinking up something amusing on the spot. "Would you be willing to tell me one of your favorite jokes?"
((Heh, sounds like someone is quite the scamp. Perhaps it's that just the right amount of being terrible has been found. Thank you for the poem. The dreams will come, yet be but sweet teasing. The mind does alright, but meeting is far more pleasing. ))

I'm glad you've found it better to enjoy happiness as it comes and not just dwell on what's gone. *gently taps his nose* I think you're forgetting the type of person I am. I-I know it's not good to worry too much, but after seeing what happened . . . *tilts her head looking up at him with an unsure expression* Y-you do? I-is it something you can discuss? (Thank you for the note, it was sweet yet a little saddening as well. I think I'll be writing up a little something in response to it. )

Whispering Minstrel [ What kind of experiment was it? The surgeon chuckled to himself at that. "Perhaps not. She was certainly aware of my history and what I've been capable of, and yet she was willing to marry me anyway." His voice grew distant. "Perhaps if she hadn't... She'd still be alive." Sciurus pushed himself down memory lane as more was asked about the circumstances. "Oh, the usual mad science-y stuff. Messing about with things man shouldn't tamper with, creating a savage monster that breaks loose and goes on a rampage ripping people apart, that sort of thing."He sighed before giving a proper explanation, "The project was called 'Zippers' and there were primarily two goals we had in mind. The first was to create a human being that was easier to operate on, That could take itself apart like a machine rather than a surgeon having to cut them open to get to where they needed. The second was was to find an "end all" work around for blood type matching and organ transplant rejection. I had already tried working once on the latter on my own, and I'm sorry to say we succeeded in both."{What kind of music does the minstrel like to listen to?/Play?} {xD well, I like squirrels <3 And holy crap that sketch is creepy!}

(First off, that concept sounds soo cool! Very Crichton-esque.) You mustn't blame yourself, you shared the same goals, and accidents are bound to happen when you delve into the realms of the unknown. And how is being successful in the latter a bad thing? That is an amazing discovery! The monster thing though...it's still out there...isn't it? O_O; (Personally, I love anything but rap or country-western. Mattie, however, is a fan of the classical variety and swing, and currently is trying *failing* a style of Jazz called Gypsy Jazz. Squirrels are adorable, especially the flying variety. And thanks! If I succeed in the creep I am doing my job correctly.)

{Honestly I was thinking about it like from a mechanical repair perspective. For cars or computers to an extent, if something goes wrong or a part breaks down, you just swap it for a new part, easy. Why couldn't it be that easy to fix people? If you've ever watched/ heard of the TV series, M*A*S*H, one of the characters, Major Winchester also has a thing about that & one of the Jeeps. The idea for Zippers came from thinking of a character who was easy to fix with his organs. Sciurus & co, I thought of when I was thinking of who would be the doctors/scientists working on such a thing? (Ironically I read very little scifi/horror things like that. Like Frankenstein would be as much as I know about this kinda thing. sweatdrop )}"Accident my a**," Sciurus growled to himself, "The creature murdered her and escaped a few days after it's making... On a day when I was not there to protect her. The whole bloody affair is my fault for leaving her alone. My success is what created the monster that ended her." He glared at his hands, curling them into fists. "Besides... The experiment was deemed a failure, in any case. The formula is extremely volatile. The lab ended in a disaster the media raved over for months. Our only resulting product is out running amok Hades-knows-where, turning people into Swiss cheese, and thus far there remains only two successful test subjects of my little sewing potion." the surgeon met Minstrel's gaze, his own filled with equal parts of weariness and murder. "Most times when I'm not required at the hospital, or else engaged in some other dire expedition, I spend my time hunting for the thing, and trying to find a way to kill it." {Cool! & yes, yes you do. I like most anything but rap/western & classical. What kind of instruments does she play?}

(I love M*A*S*H! Radar is so adorable, I wanna hug him all the time >w< Aww, with a concept like that though, I would have pegged you for a fan. Crichton is more medical fiction than horror, a lot of his work having to do with someone tempting fate or playing God and it coming back to bite them ((Jurassic Park, it happens literally, all the om noms)). He also was the creator of the series ER.)Taking an involuntary step back after hearing the surgeon's rather angry recount of what happened, she gulped nervously, "T-that's terrible...and what do you mean trying to find a way to kill it? Is it somehow invulnerable because of the experimentation?" She looks at him questioningly, "Volatile formula? Are you okay?" Another Question! Voyager. How/why/what? O_O Still not sure of what to do about a talking van... (She plays a rather old and beat up looking violin. Savin' up money with gigs and performances to retire it...)
