i have an SD and tiny... if you really want to start making dolls then i would sugest buying one off ebay or the DOA marketplace so that you have something to go by.

I concur. The whole reason I bought my tiny in the first place was so that I could get a better understanding of the jointing and balance. That's why I went with an inexpensive company called Angel of Dream. Also, I liked the maturity of their tinies' faces.

Of course, you run the risk of deciding that you want more company and artist dolls, like I do, now, but I don't think that's really too bad of a thing, since you're supporting the artists who sculpted them, and filling your life with pretty things.

Don't use clay. Use modelling paste, like you can buy in an art store with the paint supplies. Clay is too heavy and brittle to last very long, when you're making dolls.

She's right... I would only use clay if and only if, the doll was to be displayed and never really used to be carried around. Molding paste is so much better for that type of project.
