Should I explain this to her again?
  For God's sake, YES!
  Yes, but don't go overboard.
She's too simple minded to listen.
Don't bother, it's not worth it.

i agree, those standards are out of hand.
frankly, i enjoy the sun- at least when its under 70
degrees out. I like cute little things like bunnys- even if they are
homicidal. AND i for one SHOULD be a virgin- i'm only 14.

My friend, who I've known for about 15 years, seems to have decided that I'm too 'goth' for him. A year or so ago, he suddenly stopped talking to me and whenever I ask if he wants to do something, he is conveniently busy. He was my best friend for almost my whole life, and it really annoys me that he suddenly acts like I'm a grenade with the pin half-out. He hangs out with me sometimes these days, but I think it might be because his mother feels bad for me and made him do it or something, and he's still really weird around me; it's not the same as it was when we were little. neutral

Frail Appetite
Must you try to prove that you're goth to anyone?

I don't think she;s trying to prover her gothieness at all. However, she is trying to make her friend realize that most of the negative sterotypes about goths are inaccurate.

Anyways, on to sorinchako's problem!

I wouldn't suggust that you get overly defensive about your position, nor get up in C's face. Perhaps the issue would be best if let be.

However, if you do want to try to get rid of her miscinceptions, then bring the issue up casually in conversation, and try to convince her that her ideas about what goth is happen to be misguided. Perhaps give her glimpses of gothic culture... the diverse music, the amazing fashions, gothic literature from Hawthorne,Poe, Radcliffe, and others, etc.
