I fell once during a field show competition. I had this solo during the show (it was earth wind and fire) anyways the saxophone had a solo right after me and we had this big box that we stood on when we did our solos. There was only one box and it was right next to the drum major podium but anyways when i was done and the next soloist was stepping up i tripped off and fell off the box. I grabbed the marimba to keep myself from full out smashing into the ground but it was embarressing you can see it one the tape full out too.

the last day of summer band my freshman year. we were doing diamond cutters and i was in a diamond with two sousaphones and a trombone (i play mello). my front foot hit one of the sousas back feet and i fell on my butt without hands to protect my mello then the two sousas fell on me. i started crying and then the two assistant drum majors and my two section leaders ran over to me and asked if i was crying bc of pain or shock. it was both. i got sonic out of it though. xd

I myself did not fall, but one of the Beri sax players slipped and fell flat on his but in a huge puddle of mud. He was covered in it for the rest of the day.

I fell once in freshman year during practice because the stupid drill writer made me fly across the field backwards in twelve steps. It was almost humanly impossible, especially for me, since I was about 5'2" at the time.
I haven't fallen since then (that I remember), but there was this one time during practice last year when the field was wet. I had a prep step from a set where I was taking huge steps to one with smaller steps, and the turn was really sharp. My right foot slipped when I was prepping, but I somehow managed to get back in time a couple beats later. My visual instructor came and asked me if I was all right because I was laughing at myself so hard.

I haven't personally, but I have a good friend who is a veteran Bluecoat. At one competition, it had rained the night before and the grass froze. There were eight tubas that year, my friend Mel being one of them. He was seventh in the line and the first not to fall. The Tuba behind him accidentally stepped on a contra, trying to continue the show. It was crushed. Luckily the brass judge had no idea what had happened because he hadn't been paying attention, and only asked later what happened to the horn, because everyone got up really fast, and he didn't see anything to show for it, except for the crushed in bell. They buried the tuba later that night. emo
Poor contra.

yep, and i almost ruined the entire show. we had a backwards march for one of the moves and it never worked out during the practice. so we were going backwards (obviously u can't look) n i lost my balance n nearly fell down. luckily, the guy behind me caught me in time. otherwise, the whole thing would have been a mess xd

It's nothing personal...
I almost fell down today.
We were marching in blocks, Forward 8, left 8, backwards 8, right 8 First time ever for some of us I was turning my legs to go left and my right caught my left and I tripped
...It's just good business

I've tripped over percussion instruments in any situation possible.
Vibes: I almost fell into the wind chimes.
Gong: I almost hit the gong with my head.
Bass drum: Domino of snares.
All concert band issues here, none for marching band yet where I'm in pit, but I'll find something to trip over.

Oh good lord. Sometimes I hate being a tuba player. We had this one set where we had like 36 counts to get from the VERY front to the VERY back of the field, but we couldn't go STRAIGHT there, be had to scatter and all go in random directions. So this one night, I could NOT get to my spot on time, so the director starts yelling, "CHICA!!! JAZZ RUN!!!" So, like the good person I am, I jazz run, and then this little flute player runs in front of me and TRIPS ME. And I fell, with a TUBA, and rolled. It hurt so bad...I twisted my ankle but marched anyway, until my section leader yelled at me to go sit down so I didn't kill myself.
Oh, and I lost a shoe during a football game. It was during the first movement, too, so I had to march the whole rest of the show through mud in my sock. At our school we have a "Lost a Shoe Club". So far there's three of us.

Last year I fell down on the first day of school during practice. So, I looked nice and stuff, like a casual, nice first day outfit. I fell down backwards, continued into a backward somersault (sp?), and came to a kneeling pose with my hands (piccolo in my hand) in the air. I couldn't stop laughing. I could barely play. What happened was our third song was really fast and we had to run backwards and I got caught on the bottom of my jeans. I still laugh about it.

I fell down during basics.
We were practicing in the soccer field to get used to the grass. The thing is they NEVER moe the grass, it was uneven, and those darn soccer players had the ground torn up with thier cleets. So it was kinda dangerous. During a backward march I fell and hurt my wrist really bad. I was in shock from the pain and stayed down. Then another clarinet tripped over me in her backward march and sprained her wrist too! What a gloomy day for clarinets. We faked our show the next day because it was too painful to play.
