well here's another. a kid bought a sword of aegis from my store. i always send a letter thaning them for shopping at my store. this kid responds back with "you should give me demonic anklets." i told him i'd put some in my store for him and he replied "no, just give them to me." when i told him that i don't just 'give' things to people, he started verbally abusing me. add another to the ignored list, i suppose...

Ugh.. I lament for the future if kids think they can just be given everything they want.. *facepalm*

Well mine has nothing to do with trading and such. It's just about rudeness! Here is what happened. I'm in the GD and there is a thread about avi art. The young lady in question is talking about going to some art shop because it is good. I look in her sig and click the picture in assumption that it is there. Can't click it. I notice that she has also coded the entire thing wrong. I tell her that in a nice way. I got the nastiest response back from her. No one else got one; just me. I ended up doing something I never said I'd do. I pretty much let it get to me. I responded first to her calling me the name. I strangely handled this one with some level of maturity. I reprimanded her for calling me a rude name. That wasn't enough, though. I left her a rude (well, about as rude as I can get on quick thinking) comment in her profile as well. Then I ignored her.
I feel like a kid over here. I let some silly kid's words get to me. I let my maturity slip and fall on its a** and lashed out.

that happens from time to time. even though this is only the net, and people's words shouldn't really have an effect on us, it's not uncommon for them to actually get under our skin. it's human nature to want to retaliate when someone attacks you, be it verbally or otherwise. the only advise i can actually give is just take a deep breath and let it go. lashing out does happen and you should understand that you can't always keep a cool head all the time.

Mine isn´t only about rudeness but also about prejudices and ignorance. I was asked where I´m from and when I said I´m from Germany some kid wrote that I´m a Nazi and started insulting me. He said I should get lost because I´m not welcome here on Gaia.
I gave him a little update on history but he kept on insulting me. So I told him to get lost and live on in ignorance as he obviously had the deep desire to do so.
I hate it when this happens!!! I´m 22! I was born long after World War 2!
Why do some people still have this attitude towards us Germans?!

Wow. o_o That's horrible.

To be fair, most students in the US never study World War II until they get to their final years of high school, but still that's no excuse to be ignorant. >_>

Ok not so much with a kid, but with someone here my own age (24) about the immaturity of his words, so to speak.

I'm in a 21+ chat for puzzles, which normally I have no problems with, untill about 10 mins ago. I enter the chat, and someone asks if I like anime. The answer of course is yes, but then suddenly the conversations takes are sharp turn towards porn. Ok fine I can deal with this. Someone new enters the chat and the typical hey what's up? comes along, and mind you everyone in the the chat already new I am currently doign my laundry. So that is what I state, "Laundry." Simple statement requiring no real response. In response the one who started the Porn topic saids, "Ohhh! Panties!" I just type out *rolls eyes* and ignore the rest ofthe convo. So apparently rolling my eyes to a rather (in my own mind) immature statement, is insulting and immature. Which to a certine extend I do agree, but he was expecting all of us to laugh, and got more insulted when the new person left sortly there after.

I then spent the rest of my time in the chat explaining to him, as nice as possible, why I think what he said was immature and rather uncalled for.

Duning which, he says, "My friends would laugh or say something else funny to such a comment...but then again their friends."

To which I say "True, I don't know you at all well enough to know your sense of humor just like you don't know me at all well enough to know and understand mine. I didn't come in to this room to start a conflict or offend anyone. And if for any reason at all i have done so I'm sorry."

Yes I appolized, for something that I honestly don't think I need to appolize for. If only because I wanted to be the grown up in the discussion, because it was obvious that he wasn't going to be, nor was he going to say sorry.

Does anyone else agree with me, that I was in the right? Or am I just plain nuts?

Thanks. biggrin
I don´t expect people to know much about World War II. I myself only know the most essential things about it but it really upsets me that some people think that I´m a Nazi just because I´m German. That´s what I simply don´t understand. You know what I mean?

I think I can top those. I was looking for something o other in the marketplace, and as usual I checked out the vendor (seeing if they're selling rare stuff for low prices or other sings of scamming)

anyway, it shows up on her profile that I'd visited her page (a new feature I'm not fond of) and she, her boyfriend and a few other of their friends leave all sorts of comments in my profile, accusing me of beinga *****, because I wa "checking her out". Not even a "why are you looking, but a "pervert, I;m going to report you" and that sort of stuff.

I beat her to the punch, by telling my daughter, who's a moderator, about it and she sent a nasty note to this user telling her to back off or else.

It's good having a mod in the house biggrin

You can turn that off by going to your account settings and then going profile>preferences

There should be a drop box that says "recent visitors".
