Anime characters would never be introduced into a Nintendo game.
Ever.
Also - Kid Icarus is not the only Nintendo game to allude to mythology.
There are rumors that the flood which overtook Hyrule in Zelda: Wind Waker
is an allusion to the flood which consumed the world in the story of Noah's Ark.

J-PiPe unfortunately, three current characters will not be coming back for the Brawl... Ice Climbers Mr. Game & Watch Young Link Ice climbers and young link, who cares? but I like game and watch. there wasn't much room to expand him, and he would have looked way out of place, so I guess he had to go. that just means I will keep Melee when I get brawl.

When I saw that Pit was going to be in Brawl, I decided to take up the journey to play Kid Icarus. It's pretty hard.
Plus. Another character(s) that would be awesome are the Miis.

Though this article is total bull, it makes sense, as those would be great new characters. As for the non-returning, Celda Link would take the place of Young Link (as that is what he is), and the Mii's could be like Game & Watch (Like clone characters is what I mean, like Captain Falcon's clone is Ganondorf.) Doesn't matter that people aren't returning, just keep Melee (though it would be cool tobe able to unlock exclusive characters by having a mem card with Melle data on it.)
